  1. Well, I thought about it, but reading the thread about it, I just didn't think it was worth my money.. I'm thinking about getting one of those black straps with orange stitching. I'll snap some pics of it with a leather strap, it changes the look of the whole watch.
  2. I appreciate your concern for MU's striking problem, I actually think Ole WILL solve a lot of their offensive problems, like he has done Norway's in the last month. But if you read back a little you'll see I am an Arsenal supporter. Norwegian club football is [censored], and it does not catch my interest at all. Growing up with 5 older L'pool supporting cousins in the 80's, back when Arsenal glory was not quite so bright, I have come to love every blow Liverpool sustains. (Though I think they should be in the top 5, behind The Gunners). Sorry for my gloating........... naw, I'm not ;P Everton - Liverpool 3-0 in the end. Good of big man Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink to score, JTB.
  3. Amazing development at Goodison! Everton leads Liverpool by 2 at half time.. But who knows? Maybe Daddy Longlegs can score a couple after the rest? Edited: I love sex more
  4. Amazing animation.. This is the kinda stuff that makes you go "why didn't I think of that?" Pure genius!
  5. Yeah, I saw your pic wearing a 44mm Panerai I'm trying to get my girlfriend to wear my Pam 111, I like the way it looks on girls
  6. You know what the egyptians said back in the day: Cravat Emperor Being a new kid on the block, I obviously were and I still am afraid of being scammed big time. Not having dealt with so many dealers yet, but having sent a few mails back and forth with most of them, I find there are a couple of things I'd like to have clear before making a purchase. My main concerns are: 1, Is this watch really worth my money? 2, Is the watch you advertise really the one I'll get? Since most of us new guys will not know a 2893 from a little man turning a crank, will it really be what I pay for? 3, How fast will you reply, and do you even have the watch you advertise, or will you send me an email after a couple of days telling me you can not get it, and I will have to change my order? 4, Will it arrive and not really fulfill my expectations, look and feel too cheap? 5, How long will it take for the watch to get here? 6, How do you pack and ship it? And How will you handle customs issues should they arise? These are the things I think about, in no particular order.. But I guess when I think about a purchase as a whole it comes down to quality.. I want a watch that runs and looks good. I'm not too occupied with accuracy yet, but I do need to feel good about it. I'll probably think of a few things more, but this is what I got so far. -Ape-
  7. Happy waiting About the gap, there IS a gap, but I doubt it will bother anyone. And I did not think about it before you asked. It's noticable near the lugs, in the middle it's not. I guess if you have really tiny wrists it MIGHT bother you, but the orange kinda grabs your attention
  8. Both second hands tick, leitzozeiss. I must say it does not bother me quite so much on a chrono. Happy you liked it rek001, I tried mine with a couple of cheap "alligator" straps and it pulls it off. I love the look with the smooth black leather strap with orange stitching that they show on the Omega site: Omega Site
  9. If he's a trusted dealer, he will come through.. Just sit back and relax, and look forward to a beautiful watch. Search around the forum for his reviews, and know that things take time. They always do what they can for us. I just bought the 111h from Andrew, 5 days from China to Norway, it's an awesome watch, and so far the pride of my little collection.
  10. Posted some pics in the Omega section to not completely hijack this http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=11334
  11. Just thought I'd write a few words about it. I love the Orange Planet Ocean Chrono, so when ordering some watches from Andrew, I bought one of these too, the quartz model. I know this is like cursing in church, but being an engineer, I don't trust stuff that don't run on diesel or batteries yet.. I might buy a mechanical version of this watch when it's closer to the original. The watch looks good and feels solid, it has got most of the 7750-flaws, like the white 90-degree wrong datewheel, fat 3-6-9-12 numbers, too distinct hour-marker frames and the bracelet feels a bit tinny and light. (Though it feels good on the wrist) The clasp is ok, but the diver's extension can be a hassle if you don't get it right. The flaws of the 7750-PO have already been pointed out in this section, so I wont bore you with those details. I have not actually handled one of these, so the owners of such watches will have to excuse me. I'd rather point out what is good in my quartz. I actually think it looks somewhat better than the mechanical version due to better sub-dial spacing, though the dials are mixed around and marked all wrong. The hands are longer and more accurate 3-6-9-12 markers are better, not so square. And the pusher ends are better. (without the flare on top) Weighs in at 145g, and compared to my SMP GMT's 155g, it still feels solid. It's a cheap watch, but a nice chrono. I like it.
  12. Thanks, Nanuq With the hands, pushers and 4 hour-markers from the quartz it would look a little better at least, and a better datewheel could not be that much of a problem. Even a white on black would be good. (I did not notice the 90-degree issue before someone pointed it out on the forum somewhere. I don't know enough about chronograph movements to say if they could get the sub-dial spacing right, but it certainly would help the look of the watch.
  13. Been looking at Andrew's 7750-Chrono, and here are my personal unqualified observations based on a pic from the Omega-site and Andrew's pic of the rep, looking at the dial. One of the most annoying things for me is the datewheel black numbers on white background, (the gens I've seen have white numbers on black), and the fact that the numbers are turned 90 degrees in the date window compared to the original. The date window looks a bit bigger on the rep. The 3-6-9-12 numbers are also quite a bit fatter on the rep, and the hour markers on these are too square. The framing of the hour markers looks more distinct on the rep. The "Swiss made" words are separated by the 6 o'clock markers on the gen, they are both below it on the rep. The pusher ends look quite wrong. Sub-dial spacing is too wide on the rep. Hands too short. I bought the PO chrono quartz from Andrew just to see how I like the watch, (yeah, I'm a cheap bastard).. ..looks good and feels solid, it has most the same flaws, but the bracelet feels and sounds "tinny".. It actually looks somewhat better than andy's pics of the 7750. Sub-dial spacing is good, but dials are mixed around. The hands are longer and more accurate. 3-6-9-12 markers are better, Pusher ends are better. PS: I still think it's a beautiful watch though.
  14. -sigh- I'm an Arsenal-supporter, been one all me life! I do not expect them to go all the way in the CL this year, as Wenger is counting a lot on young talent.. ..again. This years start of the Premier League is not very promising, but I know that come christmas, The Gunners will be eating pork rinds in the top 3 as usual. I'm thinking Man U -chills- or Barca for the cup, but I dunno. I'll have to ponder this until the 11th or so. (Though my heart always prevails)
  15. This looks like some Rodney Matthews-stuff.. Though he does not paint creatures quite so ghoulish..
  16. There's something about FAT red letters that makes me think the guy who runs this site is a [censored]... I don't like it, I think the big red letters interspersed with some blue and black ones look unprofessional..And same goes for the way he uses upper case. It looks like some buyer complaining about a purchase,
  17. Here's a review: "That's one ugly ass watch.." the end
  18. YES, it's a Dalì, I thought people would get that quite fast.. The painting is not one of his most famous, but beautiful none the less. It's called "Knights of Death"
  19. Sorry eddhead, not eylind earle.. This might not be a typical painting for this artist, I have seen avatars in RWG with bits of his paintings in though PS: If anyone here knows people who can replicate paintings like this REALLY good, I am very interested.
  20. No takers? Ok, a hint then: This guy was craaaaazy! And he also worked with Walt Disney once..
  21. Damn.. Here I was thinking (hoping) I was hanging out with hoodlum-looking light shy individuals, dealing with counterfeit goods.. And you guys just look like society pillars and nice gentlemen.. Not a 4-day beard, gold teeth or a shifting eye in sight. (though ryannon's cigar fits the bill)
  22. Welcome, Oz! I've been here for a month, spent £600 on watches and I feel the same way about gold you do.. I don't look at Rolex at all. I bought a Panerai 111h from Andrew (trustywatchguy) and it's the prettiest and most solid watch I have ever had on my wrist, and it's a 'steal' at £83.. I'm officially a Panerai-lover now, one of my first posts here was "What's the craze about Panerais?" Good luck, and take the advice of the senior members; read A LOT on the forums, and don't be afraid to ask questions, someone is always here to guide you. (they tend to do that instead of spelling it out to you) -Ape-
  23. This just goes to show you.. not only do fake watches fund terrorism, they also give you cancer and untimely medical bills.. "Screw base-jumping and skydiving, I'll buy another rep!"
