I confirm that only quartz watches have reset adjustment functions. Was it like that when you received it or was it a result of a reset of the chronometer? This should be a 5 minute work for a watchsmith. If you don't have access to one and consider continuing in the rep-hobby, I suggest you try to find one. Sooner or later he will be useful! In the mean time, try running the chrono for a few minutes and see if it changes when you reset it. Maybe it will snap back to zero. Otherwise, just run the chrono for a minute, then stop it and you are set. I know that a lot of people will tell you that it is not good for your power reserve/wear/tear of your caliber, but I have a 7750 with a slippage problem, that I have cured like this. Going strong for the second year and it looks perfectly aligned.
-
Coeuss: It might be as easy as tightening the caliber holding screws. Thank you for your initial report. Hope to see some pics too. I am interested in this watch.. but only if it is not 'canal-street level'. It is too hard to get a spot in my weekly lineup
-
wear it well.. it is one of the future classics.. An even better find at that price.
-
Actually it is running seconds at "9" since it is reversed So, this should be as dependable as any other standard layout 7750 clone.

This caliber has been in the iffoer for a long time now. It is not a 1:1 copy of the P2002 as they want us to believe. It is just an asian with custom made bridges. Look at the positions of the jewels. It is a different caliber. If it was in the same league as the copy of the 7750, I would be tempted to get one. Thanks for reviving it, maybe one of our collectors can give us some update on it?

IWC BP versus PAM 233? - Further Question
geo1nah2a replied to Watchmeister's topic in General Discussion
The BP is 46.2mm versus 44 for the 233. I would advise him to try both on. One might feel too small, or the other too big..Yes, 2.2 mm can mean the world to some I love the fiddy case, I haven't tried the 44mm version of it, but if this was between the 1950 and the BP, I would have said the 1950.. There is something in that 233 that doesn't seem ok. That power reserve on the face? The GMT without 24hour indexes? It is not historic, it caries a caliber that seems to be less than stellar, and personally find it a bit less iconic/simple as a panerai should be. It feels like the child of a famous actor The name is there, some of the qualities too, but in the end it does't cut it. The BP on the other hand has a long history and a very good standing both in caliber and design. BP vs 233= BP for me. -
^^^ wow.. now THAT got my heart racing good luck with your project.

Hi Stephane. I'll be very happy to meet You in person too. Guess we have to stop this thread hijack and start a proper Warszawa GTG Maciek, will you do the honors, since it will guarantee a higher readership? Just throw a "PIC' tag in the title
-
Maciek, imagine how lucky I feel: I even run into Kuba two days ago doing my grocery in Carrefour What are the odds? I'll bring the HBB RG when we manage to set up a Warszawa GTG. Hey, I think this AR-Run will be ready early next week, maybe You can do local pick up and a beer? That is my plan too.
-
Let me just say that Jakub is a great guy. I had the opportunity to meet him in person two weeks ago and I had a very nice time. For people waiting for their watches, the process of AR is not done on a single watch. The lab has to gather 32 or 36 (don't recall the exact number J told me) for the process to start. I guess xelorrolex you are waiting longer since you got first in the line. I lost the previous run by a few days (past 4 weeks), so had to wait as long as you. Maybe next time you'll be the one to fill the 32nd spot and have the AR done in 2 days

There are 3 versions: 1. the cheap one, with fake chrono functions 2. the lite one, (like the one you are linking), working functions and good quality 3. the top one, like the lite (2) plus AR and real ceramic bezel I have one (2) HUBS002 and a (3)HBB red gold with polished ceramic. Love them both, but the HBB RG PC is my favorite. Still, the HUBS002, is a good value. Especially if you send it for some true AR modification. The HUBS001 has the PVD bezel, and in my humble opinion, is a bit of less value than the all stainless steel HUBS002.
-
Wear it well M. A great watch. ps: we should organize a Polish GTG.
-
well,if they offer a good all black(correct dial color/shine is needed for that model..it is where the ice fails me), I will be talking to some of our collectors. Only wish they made it full ceramic. If they do it with J12s for a quarter of the price, why not for a proper hbb ab? I am sure a few of us would be standing in that line...
-
@avitt: re:PVD: Even if it will look like ceramic, it will not feel like ceramic to the touch. Metal and ceramics have different heat conductivity, hence different 'feel'. BTW: there is a GEN HBB that is PVD (case and bezel): the cappuccino chocolate. Limited edition, with dark brown PVD. @spookycord: If you start polishing a brushed SS bezel that has been PVD'd, then at best you will end with a polished SS.

The bezel is not titanium. t used to be tantalum and now it is tungsten (to make more scratch proof and not radioactive) Real life photos from tlmez0ne hxxp://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&th=939798&mid=3202189&rid=0&rev=&reveal=

Ultimate "Wrist Shot" - HBB Polished Ceramic and Rose Gold
geo1nah2a replied to TomRiddle's topic in Other Brands Area
Same here. It is gold, therefore it will take some scratches/hairlines faster than SS. But no problem with the plating. The most stress is given to the clasp (desk dives..) and it has proven to be bullet proof so far. If we manage to organize that Warsaw GTG, I'll make sure to bring it along..If you promise not to grab it and make a run for your audi PS: This watch actually saved me money in the end. I feel less tempted by new reps. -
Ultimate "Wrist Shot" - HBB Polished Ceramic and Rose Gold
geo1nah2a replied to TomRiddle's topic in Other Brands Area
The HBB RG PC is a beauty and I don't regret the money I spent on it. I am trying very hard each day to pick another watch, being gold plated and everything. (mind you, there is no problem so far with the plating) Still, it gets the most wrist time and is the piece I reach for whenever there is a good occasion. Personally there is only one watch that would equal it. A HBB full ceramic. A proper full ceramic.. No pvd case for me. They have done it for the Channel J12, why not for this model? I am afraid the price tag would set a new record in the HBB menu, but it would be hard to resist for some of us Thank you for the video, you just made me regret that I picked my HBB SS SS today -
I tried the gen a few days before. It looks huge because of the wide sapphire. But once you wear it, it sits very well on the wrist. The strap goes in a sharp angle around the top of your wrist and it makes it look smaller. All this sapphire, on the other hand, begs for some decent AR. BTW you are right, the buckle looks HUGE. It surprised me with its size. I might end up getting the black one and have it AR'd with the help of k222, but I would be more interested if there was the version with the rose gold bezel.. Thank you for the review and the pictures. Wear it in good health.

HBB RG PCeramic and PAM217 for me. Occasionaly the Ω PO does too. That thing is bigger than the diameter implies. Last comment I got was last Monday, after a whole flight next to a very nice Spanish lady (who worked on some powerpoint on her sub laptop, while I was listening to music&browsing the "How to spend it"FT) I offered to help her with her hand luggage. She thanked me and smiling asked me:"That is a very nice watch. What is it?" It was the HBB. I thanked her and introduced her to my precious. Actually that was the second comment of the day but the previous one was from an ugly guy so I guess this story doesn't fit in the theme of the thread BTW: I always travel with a less flashy watch in my suitcase, in case I have a meeting that I have to stay under the radar... Young CFO and HBB RG don't mix well for some people
-
The outside of the ceramic bezel is not the same as the one found in the pvd lite version. The lite one is flat/polished. The ceramic one is like a honeycomb. Look at some of the closeups.. Good luck on the project. Since you will be taking apart a HBB lite, why don't you make of ceramic the plates in addition to the bezel? A full ceramic HBB anyone? PS: zirconium oxide: This is too complicated..

Good luck with your new work. The Omega is a too recognizable brand for non-wis people.. Like a Rolex-junior. Unless you want to make such a statement, I would stay away. I vote 3717. Anything else is too big and will get extra wrist checks. Tucked under your cuff this is an elegant, powerful choice. The slevin (sorry to rub that in) or a ingy would be even closer. Keep the rest of the pack for future. Good start. KR G

Pisssed off with the price of new reps!
geo1nah2a replied to ajoesmith's topic in General Discussion
1. I purchased a HBB RG PC at high euros. I didn't want a second hand omega. Or a Hamilton. Or 3 more modded PAMs. I didn't purchase it earlier with the hope of it going down.. It didn't. I wanted it . I got it. I have a lite SS SS traveling my way to average the price. If the ceramic version goes down in the future, I will get one more. 2. I see none complaining over the timezone forum about the prices. That iwc3717 is overpriced or not? How about the HBB SS PC? 3. Wait a few months for the price of a new release to come down. Then Thank the early adopters that payed the initial prices. Look at the swiss breit sfso from silix... If you didn't get one, you should not complain. How about the last 111H? Is that a ripoff too? 4. If there is really an opportunity for profit, then jump in it. Not with group buys, this is too limited. Run a dealership. Instead of restricting the demand to lower the equilibrium price, make a new supply channel. Keep us posted on your profit and loss. I wouldn't mind contributing in such a venture, but I doubt there is a market in the gap. 5. Look at the communication, customs protection, product presentation, and product development we are getting from our collectors. This comes at a cost. If you think you could do it for less, look at the point above. 6. Would I love to have the same exact services and replicas for 40% less? Yes. Do I think a boycott will lower the price? No. We are not the only ones on the demand side. Are there other channels that you can get the same watches (not services) for less? For the most models, Yes, and good luck. KR G -
I have no idea how my passwords are stored in the various fora and services that I use. Some fora use no encryption for storing passwords, others use weak encryption. A capable and (bad) willing forum administrator, ISP administrator, or hacker could gain access to the above databases. Cracking them open is the next step, and sometimes it is easier than what we wish it was. Since I don't know what type of encryption is used and how strong it is, I consider it to be a weak one. Hence I have decided to 'layer' my passwords. I use at least 3 or 4 different ones, keeping them unrelated, with levels for "fora", "personal email accounts", "business email accounts", "banks/paypal". Getting back to the original post, I would suggest that you adopt a similar habit and change your most valued passwords accordingly. (ie ryyannon, I hope your paypal account is not sharing the same password...)
-
1) Did you use the same password to your email account as well as to rwi, rwg, or any other forum? 2) Did you check your PC for keyloggers? Found any? If the answers are both yes, then you have to trace back when the klg was planted. If it was riding on the back of another installer you could get closer to the person behind it.

hxxp://www.porsche-design.com/live/ACC_Indicator_P6910_en.PorscheDesign?ActiveID=42629&flash=0 If you are talking about the Porsche P6910, I have seen it in the album of puretime...No review or availability, but it seems to have a loooong way to go to enter 'super rep' status.. So many flaws it is not worth it..
