  1. The 3 holes on the dial at 12, 4 & 8 are leds that can be used to read the time and act as a strong flash/signal torch. And to charge it, you place it on a stand without any plugs.. Interesting gadget. http://www.specialopswatch.com/cart/produc...61&option=2
  2. The inner bezel is turning, but has 60 clicks. A misaligned inner bezel will not sit sharp on the correct marks. You could "correct" it by nudging it a bit before it snaps to the next click.
  3. They didn't have to do that with the 2007 IWC CD version, because they had already dissected the 2006 version of it So, they only needed to change the color scheme to match the actual genuine watches sold..
  4. There are always differences between prototypes and final products.. Both for the genuine as well as the replica. I guess this is what the rep maker waited for: to see an actual photo of a genuine. Then he corrected these details and released it. ie The border should be visible.
  5. 1) According to Mr Biver's posts, kyocera is the manufacturer of their bezels. Now, he has stated that they had a big problem in the production planning and they were falling behind. So, what if they decided to go for a Chinese plant to cover the backlog? I have seen this being practiced in a couple of industries.. And in turn this guy then sold production overruns to the manufacturer? 2) I had speculated and then heard that some other manufacturer had purchased a rep HBB to dissect, replicate and sell at a lower cost/different channel. What is interesting is that the first manufacturer is striking back with their own lite version. I think it will be a matter of weeks till we'll have two very similar 'lite' versions.. like we had two 'ultimate' PO's.
  6. How about "he returned for an encore due to the demand"? Wouldn't any businessman do the same? Now, if those standing in line for one of those 1k$HBB's are crazy or fooled, it is a matter of time and perception to clear it up.
  7. Good one. Their "Bigger Bang" Tourbillon Chronograph is a good step forward, but is a very limited run of 54 pieces. Look for some hi res pictures in their galleries. It is a stunning piece. Specs here: hxxp://www.thewatchquote.com/Hublot-Bigger-Bang-The-First-Tourbillon-Column-Wheel-Chronograph-No_5656.htm Now they have to make an in house caliber for their Big Bang line.
  8. 9000? You are hiding the extent of your problem my friend. You have to add the 8069 posts you have in RWI And we know you are not one of them double posters.. That is 17.000+ net posts! PS: Thank you for all your time. Really!
  9. I guess, Mr Biver will be lurking in our fora too.. Can any of the admins confirm? Not that he would have posted his real email, but I doubt he would be using an anonymizer. Maybe he would be kind enough to respond to our threads too? He would find we are a friendly group of people into watches, calibers and their designs. And to reiterate my previous comment. If they want to stay ahead of the rep makers, they only have to do what Panerai did: create inhouse innovative calibers, and stay away from 6497&7750 based ones. At least for their top models.
  10. Super glues don't hold well when it comes to metals and water. Take off the bezel (bezel and insert). Clean the residue from both parts. Get yourself an epoxy kit and glue the insert to the bezel. AFTER it has stabilised, put the assembled bezel back on the case. PS: If you decide to do it with out removing the bezel, be careful NOT to glue the insert to the case. (been there, done that...) Search the forum, there is already at least one more thread with more detailed answers. Good luck
  11. People buying the original HBB are not doing so for the caliber.. Like, say, a IWC 5001 or a Panerai 6152. On the other hand, every owner of a genuine that wasn't already aware of the quality of superreps, will be now! Or to put it closer to the OT, they will know they are getting something not as exclusive as they thought when they looked at the price tag. It was a mistake on hublot's side.. Look at how Panerai responded: in house and innovative calibers.
  12. Look at the IWC CD for the original layout and functionality: 12: chrono minutes 9: running seconds 6: chrono hours Center: running hours, running minutes, chrono seconds 3: Day, date hxxps://secure.eta.ch/CSP/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=3&tabid=28 Go for the document:'IH_7750_FDE_292318_06.pdf"
  13. Hey.. Shouldn't our collectors complain to Hublot for using and altering their pictures... Hublot could at least buy a couple of watches and do the photography themselves. They could even commission one of our resident photographers Just send a HBB to Pug or ByT.
  14. The black magic is growing on me.. Now I need two of them. HBB RG&polishedCeramic and HBB BM&brushedCeramic
  15. Not defending the price here, but there are differences. Namely the case is made of 48mm titanium. Then the sapphire is oddly shaped. If they had done a proper double AR, I would be all over this. Having seen the gen, I have to tell you it is an attention grabber, in a sporty way. And the sapphire is so dominant in its presence. It Needs a double AR. Additionally I would love to see the gold bezel / crown versions too.
  16. Here is the quote from the email: "That watchmaker does not want to sell any of his watch parts, besize, the bezel would not able to be seperately from the case."
  17. It seems there are more than one versions out there. hxxp://www.thetimezone.com/Corum/60617.011101.html# hxxp://www.lussori.com/corum-admirals-cup-48-watch-5851.html
  18. This came after a request I made to purchase a HBB with a spare bezel (so that I could exchange them). They wouldn't sell it separetelly and I was informed that the bezel is GLUED to the case.
  19. Thank you for the nice pics and welcome back to rwg. I see the IWC CD has become your favorite watch. PS: Not the best weather these days here in Poland..11c and rain. I am sure you are already missing the sea and sun.
  20. The genuine H BB Black Magic has the brushed ceramic bezel. I personally like the polished one better, but it would be a mistake to put one on the black magic rep. Wear it well and thanks for the pics.
  21. About the dial: It is running seconds. About the caliber: Genuine: "The Admiral's Cup Competition 48 is equipped with La Joux Perret caliber 8235 movement. Its reliability is proved by COSC chronometer certification. The movement comprises 24 jewels and features perfect finishing. The heart of the watch is based upon the prominent ETA 7750 movement."
  22. It looks so bad, in a batman way The only thing is that it will require bat-vision to read it! Did you notice there is NO lume in there? Not even in the hands.. And look at the date.. Black letters over a very dark and sunk date wheel. The whole watch is designed in a dark and almost_no_contrast way. I think I would love to have one. Let's call it the HBBBatwatch As a side note, if the HBB'reps were in the level of the good panerai reps (250-400), then I am sure a lot of us would have already 2-4 of these(spending more than the current price of 1).. Now people seem reluctant to get even one. There are a lot of reasons why a repeating customer is better than a big_fish. Anyway, I know it is only a matter of time until a second watch maker starts offering these on a big discount. I mean, he has to buy a rep, dissect it, and copy it. He doesn't have to spend 7.000$ to get the original.. 400$ will do.
  23. The 127 might take some getting used to... But coming from the 45.5UPO, it will be faster than other watches. I have both, and the 217 sits flatter on the wrist. Go for it. Unless you try it on, you will never really know. (which is the reason I might have to get a BR01 in the end.. just to givethe 46*46 square a try!)
  24. Case is the same as in the previous model. (42.5). They added a big Ingenieur at 45.5, with the automatic 7 day power reserve caliber, but this will fall in the category "when will we see a correct iwc big pilot?"
  25. How much will the ingy with ceramic bezel be? 700$ with 'kevlar' strap and 800 with SS bracelet? If they are done with non-chrono ETA, they might be worth it. At least more than the a7750 running big bangs... Less things to go wrong and needing quality control.
