  1. I just grabbed two from that seller, I'm going to try and put one in this watch and one in the AP diver v3 that I have coming.
  2. We'll see, I guess. Wasn't very clear in the QC pics. I'm sure they have too much meat on them though.
  3. Well, I've got one on the way. All I've ordered to mod it so far is a generic 116. Looking for an ETA 2846, other than that I plan to leave it as is (in terms of parts) but try to reshape the case to get the cornino CGs.
  4. It happens. And it doesn't look that bad, actually. It's slightly misaligned but the shadow makes it look a lot worse.
  5. Well, looks like I dodged a bullet on this one. Not going to sell to that guy, so I guess this is still for sale.
  6. My last UPO I had for nearly a year, and never had a problem with the rep crown and tube. In any case, I still have the gen crown that came with the original watch. If the tube on this one strips out, I'll replace the crown and tube with the gen parts then. Maybe I can come up with a better solution than JB weld.
  7. Yeah, that's the guy. His RWI profile lists his location as Spain. Oh well. He says he was about to pay me, but I don't think I want his money now.
  8. Ah. Good call. The guy's name is Steven Nickodemski.
  9. Some jackass ripped off my pics, it wasn't me. How do you know? It's not sold yet, but nicko at RWI was talking to me about buying it, which is why I'm curious if there's any evidence that it's him.
  10. Dammit, those pics aren't even links to mine, they're on a separate photobucket website. And some idiots on VRF think that the dial is gen. Speaks well of PbDad's work, I guess.
  11. WHAT. THE. [censored]. Breaking the link to those pics now. Who the [censored] did that?
  12. Then. You. Would have a TC case with a 14060 noob dial in it.
  13. This part sits in a groove on top of the movement and is held on by a finger on the keyless works cover, it's not actually screwed in or anything, so you can just try a bunch of them until you find one that works well. You could try one from a 2836, it's slightly different than the 2824 part, that might help.
  14. This is my... fourth? fifth? Planet Ocean. I've owned both sizes, and while the 42 wears better for me I just like the 45mm for some reason. Got a great deal on some gen parts, so I assembled my first franken Omega last night. Gen dial, hands, crystal, rep everything else. The AR on the gen crystal makes a HUGE difference compared to the reps I've owned in the past. I had the "light box" (sheet draped over an end table) set up already to take pics of watches for sale, so I thought I'd snap a few of this watch as well BTW: If anyone has a line on a rep UPO bracelet or a black rubber strap, I'd be interested.
  15. That's a great idea. I'd suggest making two lists, watches that take gen crystal and watches that a gen crystal can be made to fit if you're creative. Also probably makes sense to limit the list to sapphire (since that's what you're making) unless you're just interested in creating a reference work. Off the top of my head Will take gen-spec sapphire crystal: Noob Explorer II WM9 and TC submariner (all models) WM9 and TC yachtmaster TW best submariner
  16. Honestly, if it was me--I'd replace the movement with a brand new Asian clone 2892 ($100), order new hands (less than $100), refinish the bracelet/case myself, sell the Omega movement and probably come out ahead
  17. There is a CHS white dial explorer rep as well, although the hands aren't correct. Your best bet: Buy a CHS movement Source hands (will take a gen-spec hour hand, you need to make a GMT hand) Have new hands relumed to match you current hands Take your current rep apart. You can re-use the dial, seconds and minute hands Assemble your new watch.
  18. When they were new, they were considered obnoxiously large...
  19. Replacement bezel insert came in. I'm very happy with the color, it's slightly less olive than the original one. Now just to do something about that awful zit pearl...
  20. The hour hand is independently adjustable in 1 hour increments, but it only turns one way (the gen adjusts both ways). The date flip is not geared to the hour hand, which is why I chose to set the hands the way they are.
  21. It's all part of my charm. On a serious note, I dislike being told when I'm right.
