  1. So glad you all enjoyed this gang! If you go to the base of the home page and click the 'more' tab , you can access many more great articles and reviews. Each click accesses the next 5-6 articles and so on.....................
  2. Just keep scrolling down and down after the interview - an insight into a world of dreams! http://www.vintagehour.com/2012/06/on-air-with-alan-koh-an-exclusive-interview-with-stefano-mazzariol/
  3. Thanks E - I see that Gary has got a 125 tropic listed for sale now - anyone tried one of these so far?
  4. Wow you have been busy! Well done..... Try a T19 in the 5513 build - it looks great by the way. I like how you have reshaped the crown - trim the stem a fraction and it will look even better.
  5. That is a very good spot from those angles - yes it has the incorrect , but genuine 127 installed. The cyclop is marginally offset to the left as you look at it head on. It does look quite severe in one of the Donerix pics, but that is the angle of the lens. If I can pick up a reasonably priced gen 125, I will install it! The Donerix is uber comfy to wear - a nice , relaxed Summer look.
  6. Thanks guys - 585 endlinks and bracelet came through an Ad in 2008. They sell for obscene amounts of money now on the Gen forums.
  7. ZK please - I am just about to eat supper!!! Thanks
  8. Another step to Frankenville.............. With the 2008 dated Gen 93150 / 585 ensemble............ With my Rep 93150/580 ensemble.... and there is more to follow.................
  9. My 1979, 94110 Snowflake Sub has been trying out a few different suits for the holiday season - which one do you prefer? First up is a custom Donerix vintage , soft and supple in a nice tritium colour, originally bought for my 1655... Up next is a more traditional Bond Nato fitted with a Rolex coronet buckle......... And of course, there is always the Gen 93150/585 bracelet assembly....
  10. WOW - that clasp looks more complex that the Steptronic transmission in my car And look at the rear shape of those CG's - cant wait for the GZ boys to take them on
  11. Beautiful - what are the upgrades on this latest case set compared to the noob 112M?
  12. Common issue on most reps with painted / filled indices - same occurs on the Rolex Exp II for example. You can infill it again with a Sharpie pen, but for a more gen appearance use an acrylic based black satin finish paint. Paint/dab it on and into the number/recess with a cocktail stick , then wipe away any surface excess quickly and smoothly. lay flat to dry. When dry, examine under a loupe and scratch any excess paint away that is around the index perimeter edge with your finger nail. The paint will come off and you will not scratch the steel bezel. Good luck.
  13. Thanks SB - that's a great assessment, appreciated. I have done builds from a Silix thin Sub case (which is actually great for a 16750 and you get a higher crown position! Also a 1655 build in the past, then abandoned it, then I promised I would never bother again as the end result is always off .... Now I have seen so many of these threads in the past two weeks, I am tempted again. I still have in my box a stunning faded gen 16700 Pepsi insert, Gen 5.3 and Gen 6 mm crown and a full gen jubilee bracelet/clasp - but with 555 end links. I could add these into the build, with a Clark 116 and possibly Yuki long E dial? Do you have a note of what size OD insert the WSO bezel will take? Oh, oh - here I go again!!!!!! Thanks again for sharing and enjoy the build as for $400 it looks more than great!
  14. NDT will do you a made to order CB - if your pockets are deep enough - good as well, but be prepared not to eat for a few weeks............!
  15. Guys - is the popular opinion that this base watch (often stated as 'Trevors'?) is NOW the way to go when building a limited budget 1675? Is it a better option that the previous Josh 1655 option? I have read the many threads on these builds over the past weeks, but it seems to be inconclusive or not debated?
  16. With the mods that you have 'inline' that will look fine and dandy - I suggest you go for a Clark 127, which is the correct plexi for the 1680 - and is a great upgrade for very few $$$. Here is a 'real life' Gen Choco Trit dial, so you is not that far away - why not start by staining the hands you have to match the dial a little better - dunk them in your coffee!
  17. Nice - well done and probably less than a hundred $$$
  18. What is a long E and short E dial ? Thanks!
  19. Did you take this any further Sneed?
  20. Thanks for the link to Orchi's post! Enjoy your build.....
  21. Many thanks - I love the strap (and the watch), but was not sure if it was 'right' for this period piece, but it seems to work!
