Gotcha! AP didn't make a grey dial for the E-series and later 14790s.
-
OK, I will give you guys a small guide why this is the one to get over the Jumbo: 1. AP logo is finally correct! It's thin and not the bloated one. 2. SS screws! The gold screws looked good, but nonetheless were still far off from the gen. 3. Solid case back. That was the dead giveaway on the Jumbo rep. 4. Correct case profile. Previous problem was that the case thickness screamed fake. It's perfect on this one. Flaws I can see: 1. Bezel screws look a little messy 2. Case back engraving isn't sharp enough. 3. Date font is a teensy bit off. Otherwise, perfect rep. Believe it or not, but I intend to order the black, blue and white dial versions.

Customs Problems In Non-dealer Transactions
thomasng replied to thomasng's topic in General Discussion
I learned a valuable lesson and will state this clearly in the future. Nevertheless, I offered to take half of the losses and it was accepted. I had to or I would have been stuck with a guilty conscience, as I hate to see someone else get screwed. Of course, considering my exceptional package deal yesterday, it's okay after all. -
Does Anyone Ever Use The Chat Function Here?

Same here. Whenever I log on, no one's there. -
I need the help of the membership of this forum again. What should happen in second hand transactions where customs seizes the watch? I got my part of the deal, but the other end had what I sent them taken. In any case, there was proof that I sent what I was supposed to, as Customs over there said they seized it and will destroy it (Damn, it's a PAM 187). Any advice on what should happen is appreciated.

The RO expert here gives his two thumbs up. This is the one to have.

Used to be chartered accountant, applying for many jobs in the London area in finance at the moment. I'm going to have a go at being the new manager of the London Chinatown branch of HSBC.

That's a load of rubbish. You helped me out with some tips on modding and I greatly appreciated that. -

Excellent reply. You deserve a prize for that, and I can offer you one. I am temporarily back for a day or two, as I just couldn't keep my happiness from my deal in Shenzhen concealed. But I did mention that I will be off for the next few weeks/months as I need to spend more time on other priorities in life, and my upcoming move across the pond. -
@finepics You live quite close to where I used to live. I stayed a year in London during 2000 and was in the area near Sloane Square. Still searching for an apartment in London, and looks like I'm close to sealing the deal on a Sloane Street flat, but it ain't gonna be cheap.

Small test (no cheating): What makes the Royal Oak cabinet piece so special and unique? (Just a little trivia, not trying to embarass) -

Oops, missed that. The other 60 subdial on the rep is for minutes then I believe, as it was on older quartz models. Sorry. (Blushes in embarassment) -

Another note: Please do not let this post distract you from buying from our dealers. I will still do, as you have the convenience of buying from home. While I had to deal with safety issues carrying so much cash around, and the hours of talking it took. No customs issues too from our dealers. -

ubiquitous- The 12 o'clock subdial is for seconds. The 9 o'clock subdial is 30 minutes and therefore this rep is inaccurate in that department The 6 o'clock subdial are the hours and the rep is also inaccurate in that department. How do I know? I'm staring at my genuine JPM Offshore right now. Therefore this a terrible rep. Sorry. However, I love the case and might get it, as it is an improvement over the old ones. Remember my old T3 project? it has to be scrapped because of the T3 case being too small in the rep. As this case looks good, I might be able to do another franken instead. -

Sorry guys to burst your bubble but the ROO is quartz. If it was a 7750, the date wheel should be sunk if they used gears to move the subdials around. -
Finally, all those people who said good things would happen to me again, sure enough they did again today. I decided to go up to Shenzhen again for some rep shopping. I saw some good PAMs in a store window and quickly went in. Under the table, they had boxes of ETA reps, a lot of Rolexes and PAMs, and some Omegas and Breitlings. Anyways, to cut the crap I went through a lot of watched and after a ton of hard bargaining, I picked up the following: - PAM 063 with 2893 movement (their last one) - PAM 112H with Swiss Swan Neck 6497 - Vacheron Constantin old Overseas Arabic dial (killer rep) - Vacheron Constantin Overseas latest version - Rolex Submariner LV (newest version with good CGs but bad rehaut still) All for 6000 RMB- (US$740) not too shabby, but I probably could have done much better. Opening price was a shocking 15000 RMB. It was 3 hours of work well spent.

OK, here's the lowdown. I've gotten some sleep over the last few nights and feel much better. First dispute is now resolved and I have recieved a small amount of compensation for a crystal and 1/3 of a movement service, that's fair and good enough for me. The customs seizure problem is looking a bit better, as there are genuine arguments (no need for forgeries) and the final problem, despite my best efforts a refund or compensation was refused and I will assume that it's pretty much done. I will still be off for the next few weeks and maybe a few months. One thing for sure is I am going to spend a lot less time here and enjoy life more. I dedicated too much of my time here, spending hours a day when I really had more important things to do. And in the future when I sell reps on here, I will have a new policy regarding no shipping to EU (exception of the UK). Customs seizures and taxes will not be my problem in the future too, you take 100% responsibility for seizures.

I'm in Hong Kong so my eyes are always open for spotting expensive watches. In the month I've been here, I've spotted hundreds of Subs, SDs, Explorer 2 and GMTs (all genuine). I've also spotted hundreds of TT Datejusts on men and mostly women's wrists. I've also noted dozens of SS Daytonas on rich kids wrists, and a lot of TT Daytonas out there too. I've spotted a dozen Jacob and Co's (yuck), a few dozen Royal Oaks, some VC Overseas, some Breguets, 8 Patek Philippe World Times and a few dozen other Pateks, and even yesterday I spotted someone wearing a Richard Mille finally. Panerai is popular here, and I've spotted many models, like the 196, 005, 111H, 190H, some Submersibles and a lot of PR models. Also seen a few Fiddys and 187s. I stopped wearing Panerai reps because I was afraid of being called out by some rabid Paneristi. I've also spotted no fewer than 100 IWC Pilot Chronos. I am not kidding, as I see at least 3 or 5 of these in a single day. Big Pilot I've also spotted a dozen times or so, and I've also spotted a few Ingenieurs and GST Chronos. Cartier is another king here, I've seen hundreds, if not maybe over a thousand assorted ones accross the city. I'm sure I missed a lot more, this is just from walking around shopping centres and on the street. I had high tea at the Ritz Carlton yesterday and I spotted someone wearing a Jumbo Nautilus, who strangely enough looked like he was staring at my Royal Oak every now and then.

Sorry, I know I made my last post, but I am the seller in this case and will most likely have to bear the loss unfortunately, so this is what I suggested: Admit that it is fake and give them a Paypal invoice (any random replica purchase will do nicely), and tell them that it was imported legally because apparently Dutch customs allows importation of up to 3 counterfeit goods without seizure. It sounds like a set-up and entrapment into lying.

At the end of this post, I will make my instantaneous departure from the community we know as RWG. If you do not want to fall victim to reading a long post, please quit now. If you are asking why I am making my departure, it is simply because of problems with replica watches and my life in general and having to deal with all of this [censored] is really stressing, especially when you’re on vacation on the other side of the world and have family and other issues to take care of at the same time. It all started when I received a bum Daytona from a forum member here. I was excited, but was soon disappointed when the watch didn’t work and the crystal was cracked, I say no problem and I am hoping to get it resolved, but this adds the extra stress of communications and possibly having to send the watch back and have it go through Customs which is a major worry. Then soon after, I am robbed by two men with knives at my neck and they take priceless items from me, and my brand new Breguet watch. I am forever soured about that area of Hong Kong and am left traumatized by the incident, but I hoped to pick up the pieces and carry on, which I have done, but the memory still looms, and I am very thankful that I was not hurt. Third problem, I am given a shock soon after that a watch I sent to a member here in a trade was seized by Customs while I received what I was supposed to get. I feel enormously guilty, even though it was not my fault and I still endeavor to make everything right after I have said my goodbyes. Fourth problem, my 94 year old grandmother catches a cold in the long term health center and has to go to the hospital for observation, and her condition is deteriorating mainly because of her old age and her vulnerability. This also strikes a huge blow to my family as we are very close together and we are also left saddened by this, my aunt also faints and is sent off to the hospital, where she will be okay. The final blow was a bungled transaction with an RWG member. RWG is down for hours and I cannot access RWG from the time before I went to bed to the next morning, which can be explained by time differences. Anyways I try to open RWG at about 7 in the morning and find it still can’t open. I say what the heck and went out for breakfast and off to the hospital/long-term care center and stay there for the rest of the morning and most of the afternoon. I come home to find accusations being made against me and the worst threat of all, a PAYPAL COMPLAINT!!!!! I quickly express my feelings on this matter and offer an explanation and a refund. In response I get another blow by accusations that problems in my life weren’t bad luck, but were my fault, or at least that was the tone I was getting. That was the final nail in the coffin. Again, I will emphasize that I will continue to keep up communication with the members who I have outstanding transactions with, and any problems I will do my best to rectify. Also, I will continue to have Finepics and The Zigmeister work on my existing projects which would go to waste just sitting in my drawers at home collecting dust. I have to sadly bid RWG farewell because this is causing me too much extra stress in my life and I have a life after all which some people apparently don’t realize. I cannot express in words my gratitude to this forum and most members of this community for their help and their time informing me about individual replica watches and it really opened my eyes to the world of replica watches. Many of you may know me as a genuine collector, who buys watches that are almost as expensive as cars, but still bought plenty of reps and wore them with pride all the time. Why did I do this? I bought genuines of watches that I thought were worth it, and I bought replicas of watches which I didn’t think were worth it, namely Panerais. This site got me Panerai addicted and I had 12 Panerai replicas in my collection at the highest point, but I have reduced my collection to 4 which I still intend to mod to perfection, including building a killer PVD 028, 029, 127 and in honour of “V” I will also be building a PVD 112H. I cannot thank the people who helped me out with what to mod on these watches and I value their input and time they spent writing up instructions and posting pictures. Now, I will say a few personal thanks: Archibald- Thanks for establishing the Casablanca project in conjunction with me. I value the time you spent in contacting dealers, haggling over prices and getting these watches on everyone’s wrists. I also appreciate your great taste, as very few people seem to appreciate Franck Muller as much as you do and me. I promise you I will get one of them, just when I have some time to deal with it. Ubiquitous- Thanks for the valuable wealth of information you have provided to the membership of RWG, I really enjoyed reading every single one of your posts and your quest to making the perfect replica Daytona made you my idol. Your persistence and dedication is nothing short of impressive. Kruzer00- Enjoyed the PM exchanges with you. You are a great guy to talk to and I wish you the best of luck in acquiring a UN Freak. You are more than welcome to contact me when you are ready to get one and I shall help you in acquiring one. Finepics- Thanks for answering all my idiotic PMs about mods and what not. You currently have my 029 and you will be getting more down the road. The Zigmeister- Another thanks for answering my idiotic questions. Even though I haven’t sent anything to you, I promise I will do so when I get back to Canada. Quarks- It’s my pleasure to provide you with information about Hong Kong watch dealers, and I hope you will get something nice when you go. Chronus- Great times talking to you off RWG and it’s nice to find someone with common interests, such as football shirts. Keep in touch. Pugwash- Thanks for the lessons on photography. I’m still desperately trying to master them and take pictures as good as you. TwoTone- I thank you for the laugh you have provided for me so many times with the Looney Bin. Kenberg- Excellent job on moderating here and keep it up. Highflyingclive- Love your avatar. Admin (admin)- Thanks for providing this forum for us. V- I still admire and envy your PVD 112H which I will be making one myself. Your strap knowledge is also amazing. TTK- I must mention you as you stand out from the other dealers, I enjoy reading what you have to say despite the fact it can be controversial and that’s what makes RWG interesting. Nanuq- I enjoyed your story of throwing the SD over the boat and remember it well, and also remember you destroying your Sub, which was priceless. Eunomians- I admire your vintage projects as well. I also really enjoyed reading your posts. There are many more I should mention, but that should do it for now. And another personal thanks to all of the dealers I have bought from for providing me with excellent service, better than genuine watch dealers. I applaud the time and effort you put into providing this service for us and I hope that people will appreciate your time and effort more and realize that you have lives outside of replica watches. To the rest of the RWG membership: I wish you the best of luck in your conquest for the “perfect Sub” and that many more 99% replicas will come your way. And now it’s finally time to say: Good night and Goodbye RWG.

Again, I will offer you the refund and I will admit that I fudged it up and I want to make it right. I am sorry.

Inflammatory comment in the most recent PM was the final nail in the coffin. I will write my departure message tonight and post it tomorrow morning, I'm done for sure. Outstanding transactions, I will take care of you until everything is done and accepted. Finepics and The Zigmeister will still get business from me, and I will maintain contact with members I know well here. Again ryaku, if you are not happy. I will give you 100% refund, and I will stand by this offer. Or should I just pay $300 for a brand new one and send it to you for free? Please understand this is not a direct result of this transaction but with everything else, it tipped me over the edge.

I got another call from HSBC a few minutes ago and I was told a attempt to withdraw funds from my bank account was registered today, but interestingly enough, at a bank branch in Causeway Bay this time. Apparently, they had tried to imitate my signature to make a HK$100,000 cash withdrawal and even had ID. The funny signature and the nervousness of the person drew the suspicion of the teller, and when she asked more questions and went to get the manager the man ran off and left behind a counterfeit Hong Kong ID card. What an idiot, they're going to get the guys who did this soon, as he put his picture on the counterfeit ID card and left it behind.
