  1. PVD EOD would be impossible. Caseback engravings would be different, and the lugs are completely different on that older model. Hope they make 1:1 endlinks I can use on my genuines. I also hope they get the deployment buckle right. Or a very good bracelet. A Rubberclad would be sweet, especially a RG one. I'm guessing these dials: Themes black Themes white Themes blue Themes navy (white with blue numerals) Themes Safari Themes black with silver subdials (only accurate for Rubberclad) Blue dial with dot markers White dial with dot markers Blue dial with arabic numbers non-Themes White dial gold markers for gold version I'm also hoping they make a RG Rubberclad rep, with the dial for it, grey with black subdials like the Sincere Tantalum LE. Hoping they also do LE's like Worth Avenue, ADC, Montenapoleone. Too bad JPM and RBII will be out of reach, being made of Ti and a different case design.
  2. I'm confident they will do a good job on this, at least I know the cyclops won't be stuck on the crystal, judging from the pics. Lets pray they get it right off the bat, putting the cyclops on the dial level. This time, I actually hope the date is sunken in, unlike the PAM reps. I would shoot for this even if they used a 7750, with the seconds moved up to the 12, and the minutes to 9. It could be a crapshoot like the Daytona, but I would take the risk anyday for a rep of this caliber.
  3. That's what the genuine uses.
  4. Be careful, using ad hominem is also not a wise way to argue. I just gave up.
  5. Time for your colonoscopy now, isn't it?
  6. Awww, you're too kind. I know almost nothing about vintage Rolex, and you have all the knowledge of them. I have no idea which reference is which, etc. A local Toronto guy showed me his collection of 7 unique Newmans, all with different dials and bezels, and I had no clue which was which. All I knew was they were worth $60,000+ each. Also had a lot of nice vintage Subs, SDs and one very rare Sub (forget ref.) that was worth $50,000 or so.
  7. I have a genuine white Themes dial I bought for $350. Looks like it's going to come into use pretty soon, provided they don't screw up the subdials.
  8. http://www.replicacollector.com/members/in...mp;#entry152267 Holy crap, this is another dead-on piece. I'm getting a black dial one for sure. Anyone else?
  9. http://www.replicacollector.com/members/in...mp;#entry152267 Holy crap, I'm wetting myself just by looking at the case! I'll wager if they really went to so much effort to making such a great case, the dial and movement will be good too. We really are in the golden generation of reps.
  10. That's it, I give up. You win. Seems like I'm talking to a brick wall. Something so simple has been made into such a complex issue. You know that when someone would take a very long time to type up a long post, instead of simply replacing an avatar in 10 seconds, you know there's other motives behind, such as to attract attention or to test the patience or ire of other forum members. If so, have it your way. I've just about had it with this forum (Again, yes I know). This forum is about watches. Period. I have extensive knowledge of haute horology, as a well seasoned collector. I probably know more about brands like AP, Breguet, Blancpain, JLC, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, A. Lange and Sohne, and independents than people combined (except Randy for AP). That's all I'm looking to contribute. I will make a convincing argument for owning a tourbillon, a minute repeater, or some other mega-expensive complication. I don't want to contribute my views of American politics, as it would offend a lot of people here, and I repsect that, I'll leave the political forums for that.
  11. No CJ, I think he has read the thread, he said that people need to get a sense of humour about it. Too bad my fiancee doesn't find it funny at all, neither do the spouses of the forum membership here, I wager. I really think that it is sad that someone has to do this almost intentionally, jsut to draw the ire of forum membership and to attract attention. If you wanted attention, good job, you've sure as hell managed to captre a lot of it very well.
  12. And btw, why does it seem everyone on the internet has a degree, MBA, etc. etc. etc.? A very small proportion of people in the population have them, but why do the numbers seem to jump dramatically on the interenet? Just a very casual observation, not meant to be a shot at anyone. So, gioarmani, are you a believer in the Freudian school of thought? You seem to be proving this point very well. (I took one Philosophy and Psychology course in first year university, long time ago) BTW: I have a Bachelor's of Business Administration, CA Professional Designation and an EMBA, so who am I to talk?
  13. One thing's for sure. I would never send my children to this forum when I have them. I wouldn't even send my younger siblings here, I have to keep this site away from them sad to say, even though they have a lot of interest in watches like me. I really would just like a little touch of class here. This completely deteriorates my view of this forum. Am I offended? As much as I would like to say that I am not, I am because this is a watch forum, not a porn site and I really would not like baggage from other sites over here. You have to understand that a lot of us have families and children, people to be committed to, and we don't need content like that. I'm also concerned with your interpretation of "freedom of expression". With freedom of expression, comes a certain responsibility, an adherence to social contracts. In theory, would you like it if I posted racist cartoons? I could make the claim of "freedom of expression", but it's social conscience that stops me from doing it. Same thing applies to pictures of a pornographic nature.
  14. This thread...... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=7948
  15. This crap again.... I complained about this some time ago, shame I had to turn off signatures and avatars on this forum. It's not a good thing when your significant other walks into your computer room seeing borderline porn animations. That's why I'm thinking RWG is really deteriorating in quality, as that kind of stuff simply isn't appropriate for a forum like this. A little class, shall we? I completely agree with Neil in every aspect he mentioned, especially his first point.
  16. Yes, the genuine uses a modified 7750 with seconds at 6, according to sources from the IWC forum.
  17. I'm sorry if you took my post in the wrong way, it was not meant to be in an angry tone, rather a more discussion-like tone. And by the way, I still disagree. This is a Replica forum, and it is a big mistake to ignore the fact people here still buy genuine watches, but want a place without stuck-up bastards to post on. I just can't see how it is out of place, after all we love watches, don't we? To me, as a collector who has bought and flipped a lot of genuine timepieces, what you wear means absolute bupkis to me. I don't care if you wear a Timex, a rep Submariner or a genuine Patek Philippe. Sure, it's cool to spot them, but how do they change you as a person? Are you better because of material objects? In my view, no way.
  18. So what? Should we stoop to the level of the snotty bastards on genuine forums, that we outcast people with genuines (or in their position, replicas)? That's the only reason why I continue to post here, alas very rarely, I honestly fail to see a problem in collecting both genuines and replicas. If that's the case, then I will say good day.
  19. When you get to the point of genuine watch collecting, there are many markets involved. There's the one who are into the traditional realm, strict conservatives who only like square and flat brands like Patek Philippe, Breguet, Vacheron Constantin. However, there's the other market of the people who enjoy daring and innovative design and technology. Brands like Urwerk, Richard Mille, Vianney Halter, Hd3, F.P. Journe, Haldimann, Roger Dubuis, and even Audemars Piguet is included in these realm. The goal of these companies is radical innovation. And innovate they did, Richard Mille invented the world's light mechanical watch, Roger Dubuis introduced an amazing microrotor chronograph movement, and AP introduced a shockproof tourbillon called the "Concept Watch". AP is a traditional brand, but what makes its stand out is how daring their brand new designs are. Anyways, entry to this realm is very expensive, and many pieces start at $50,000+ There's only so much money one can spend on watches, and when one wants innovation, but for less, they will go for this Seiko, and a lot of seasoned WIS have a lot of praise for the Spring Drive and especially the Sonnerie. The Spring Drive is a very special, innovative and accurate movement with a lto of devleopment and technology. $5,000 for a watch of its calibre is considered a steal by some people, as it you think how much a Swiss brand would charge for a piece like this, would be at least $10,000+ I mean, you cannot bash Seiko. They make longlasting and reliable watches, and who's to say that their technology sucks and is more worthless than the Swiss? I know, it's the stigma attached to the brand that "Seiko" is a cheap watch, but it's the technology and innovation, that they were able to create the Spring Drive is what truly makes it worth the money.
  20. Geez fella, calm the **** down. I was just merely stating the fact that you could have got one for less than retail, as this is a very common model. That's it! Just because I collect genuines, doesn't mean I'll pay extra for the watch. Heck, when I really want a watch, you won't see me step into an AD anymore. I buy online from Timezone and Purists, pay a lot less and get the same watch in the end. It just leaves us savvy shoppers with more money to spend on reps or even another genuine watch. I mean, the savings are huge. For a watch like the AP Offshore, expect to pay $17,000 from a dealer with discount. You can get one on Timezone that is essentially brand new for $12,000- a $5,000 savings! You could probably have saved $1 or $2K buying elsewhere. I'm not criticising you for your decision, but it just make me cringe that you would waste more money, when it could be used to buy more watches. Heck, the first dealer I asked for an AP Offshore Barichello wanted to charge me $5,000 US over retail. I told him he could go suck my ****. (literally) Regardless of price, it is still a nice piece, enjoy it and wear it in good health. Just my two cents. (That's it, I'm never mentioning genuine watches on RWG again)
  21. I know what Paypal does is unethical, but this is many times worse, what would have been worse is if someone was hurt or killed. JMO.
  22. Looks great, I saw this in EL's album too. Only thing is, the case doesn't look made of titanium.
  23. Yet we [censored] about 0.0001 mm difference in the size of printing.
  24. Tell the AD to kiss your [censored] and move onto another AD. You should not be paying over retail for watches from an AD, as if it wasn't expensive enough. Threaten him discreetly, allude that you know he shouldn't charge over retail. Better yet, get one off a Paneristi. You'll pay a lot less, and you won't get shafted if you buy from one of the good guys.
  25. My fiancee has one of the Super Copy Hermes bags we got through a contact in Hong Kong, who brought the bags in from South Korea. Everything came exactly like the original, right down to the packaging. I am amazed by the ultimate quality these fake bags are of. You really cannot tell the difference in the stitching or material. We bought it for about HK$4000 ($500 US). Every now and then, I put it beside her genuine one to compare, and I really cannot find a single difference between them. Sometimes I even mistake the fake one for the genuine, the fake one I have used a magnifying glass to inspect for hours, and I cannot find a flaw with it. Contrast to the one we bought at the Hermes boutique in Paris, I could find a tiny speck of glue from the stitching, and that's it.
