  1. The gen it as light as a feather and it's a major feature of the watch, in steel this will feel all wrong! 100% not going to get this, seems like a wasted release, let the factory correct it first, vote with your wallet and don't buy! Ask your dealer about it, say your interested in buying, but only when they fix all the multiple, glaring flaws Titanium PVD case, titanium clasp (not PVD steel) black date font, white Calibre 5, single sided AR crystal, frosted display back crystal, rubberised crown and bezel and green/yellow lume colour I don't think anyone should buy it, just photoshop any of the steel, black dial Tag 500M reps posted on the board. Simply switch the steel finish to PVD instead, since that is all the factory seems to have done with this half assed rep! The link is back up now: http://www.1-pc8838.com/00tgaq00085-aquaracer-500m-automatic-pvdru-black-orig-p-10123.html This bit makes me laugh: "Note : The Genuine does not have AR coating on the Crystal" The gen does have quality single sided AR, unlike any of the other 500M range, utter rubbish......
  2. It is on Kings site for $325, which is quite high considering it is listed as steel/PVD instead of the correct lightweight titanium carbide, has a white not black date wheel, and the wrong coloured Calibre 5 on the dial..... http://www.kingshowbox.com/goods-6268.html Worst out of all the Tag 500M's for accuracy by a very wide margin, one to skip, what a shame
  3. Pop DSN's dial/hands in there and you would be good to go?
  4. Can't see it on the website? Maybe they pulled it to correct some accuracy problem? The Calibre 5 being the wrong colour is quite a glaring flaw after all!
  5. When being designed and built in Britain meant something..... Great story, sweet car!
  6. Yeah I have gone down to 35 from 40! Can't remember who they were though
  7. Buy the ultimate version, wouldn't give PWC one cent, he is a liar and full of [censored]
  8. I tried to buy the genuine of this watch, but both watches from Tag were poor quality, with dust under the crystal of one and scratches on the edge of the minute hand of the other Still love the watch though, so I will 100% buy this rep, can't be any worse QC than the gen
  9. I doubt ebay as a source, could be rep versions on there.....
  10. Don't forget, the cartel/PT vintage pieces can now be purchased for about $100 with a 21j movement, good for practising your modding skills with, as a test run, ageing inserts and stuff
  11. Good info, if a little harsh on Puretimes offerings! Some of his pieces are more accurate than others, and there are multiple dial variations to choose from too. The lug holes are the right size and look fine to me, what's wrong with the clasp? So either way you go, they all need a lot of work and upgrades, nothing near 1:1. I think the phong case sets are the best by far if you want real accuracy, no? Not sure how you source them though! I sunk a fair bit of money into a couple of vintage Rolex projects way back when, with a great deal of help from an Austrian watchmaker friend, only to lose interest once they were completed and ended up selling the watches
  12. I always thought these MBK/MBW Rolex's were not 1:1 anyway? I mean, they needed a lot of work to get accurate, no? New crown/tube, lug holes drilled, crown guards trimmed, better non solid mid link bracelet, and a new insert and pearl etc.... Were the vintage Rolex's Puretime recently released not of good enough quality for a starting point for a vintage Rolex project? I mean, they were only $200 and had better pearls and overall look straight from the box, plus a low beat ETA movement closer in timing to the gen pieces..... http://www.puretimewatch.com/category/vintage-models/ Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought all the fuss over the MBK/MBW was over long ago? Cheers!
  13. Yeah, my last feedback now shows as received on: 14 Jul 2009 - 15:48 But as mentioned, it still shows as 40+ feedback, same as before the mass deletion, strange. I don't think I can remember the people who left me feedback going back to the summer of 2009 Best of luck with the fix
  14. Admin is looking into it, there may be a problem with some members feedback, or the system as a whole? Mine seems to have gone back to 2009, but still says 40 positive feedback?
  15. I have a watch with a 2892 movement and DD module, but the subdial layout is 3, 6, 9, with seconds at 3, how can that work with this different subdial layout, is there a different DD module? Cheers!
  16. Stunning watch, really beautiful! Best straps (aside from gen) are from http://apbands.com/ I have used many of their straps on different AP's, they all fit really well and are very well made
  17. Thanks, it's a great looking watch, much better than the heavier steel cased AP's, I am just so scared of scratching it though!
  18. If you like those sharp AP straps, you really need to see this thead: I purchased that watch from OSRep, and it is sweet! Looks great on the AP bands strap
  19. Yes, but even the "corrected" one is still wrong The gen has a dark grey date wheel, with a black font on it, whereas the rep has it the other way round, black disc, with dark grey font This is the solution: http://www.2geek.net/eMart/index.php?c=21&p=71 I had this disc installed in my full black ceramic HBB on a ceramic bracelet, and it looks sweet! I will post pics when I get the time.... Cheers!
  20. The GEN pro II rubber w/tang buckle will wear badly on a small wrist, the deployant buckle is a much better and more comfortable fit.....
  21. Yeah, Breitling croc straps are sweet, nice combo! Who was the member with access to Breitling parts? Brand new dials and things like that?
  22. Yeah, $3-400 is fine, much better than $530 at least! I have been looking around, but no luck so far, quite a few I see are 24mm, not 22mm.... Maybe somebody on the other side of the pond has good contacts with an AD?
  23. Thanks, the V2 OR is very nice quality true, but I can't bring myself to put a rep strap on a gen watch, it just seems wrong to me!
