Hi Dizz,
The case is close, where it's off are the sides are a little bulbous. The bezel is way off unfortunately and I'm going to tackle that next. I also had to sand down the height of the crystal quite a bit for a lower profile.
All in all its a nice budget project.
I kinda forgot, so much for a few days....
Here's an updated pix with drilled out lug holes for 2mm spring bars.
Here's a gen shot for comparison with the hole placement.
You want something like a 2846 ETA with a slow beat rate.
MBK cases are made for an ETA movement while the NDT or Vietnamese made cases are made for gen movements (not to mention you can buy several MBK watches for one NDT case). You have to be careful with the ETA in a Vietnamese case since the stem does not align in the same place as a Rolex 15xx mvmt, so there is some stress on the stem.
Good luck on the project and keep us updated!
Hmmm, 7928 caseback and pointed crown guards, I could be wrong but I don't think 7016/0 had pointed guards. A 7928 with those cg's seems correct.
What do you think Q?
Congrats RH, that's a 7016/0 -Q is right, I hope its a gen, some more pix would be great. If its all genuine it would probably fetch between $1800-$2500.
