Nice Ragsy, keep us updated on the progress.

I'm so bad at wrist shots, I rarely bother.
It's heavy metal for me too!
-
No wrist shot sorry
Yes, that is a stunning watch Bazz!

Seems like a nice holiday thanks for sharing SQL, enjoy!

Boy, there's nothing like some animal print to complement the bling.

I got a very abusive PM from someone on RWI about it. I won't go into details, but it was very unfriendly, calling me by my real name, showing me he had photos of me from the internet. Very disturbing. I won't say who it was, but it was a known poster hiding behind an alias.
I really don't frequent RWI much; it's a Coke or Pepsi thing... Geez, those actions are uncalled for! -some folks have no sense of humor

Pug, I love your new avatar

Great Post Vic!
My PAM strap collection is very humble in comparison to yours, but this is a personal favorite of mine, the color, fit and just the feel all come together.

You can try a thick varnish and spray it on with a coarse coating. Hit the hands and dial and it looks pretty authentic. Just remember
it will leave a void beneath the hands that looks new so it will take two tries. This dial is nearly brand new.
I've always thought that looks great Nanuq!

tmg,
i am glad to hear that you haven't given up on the 5517 ... i have one in the works too...
Thanks Rag,
Yes the 5517 is one of the Holy Grails. I'd certainly like to see how yours is coming along.
I'm hoping to have my case in the next two weeks.

Subzero, thanks for sharing all those shots! Nice collection.

Not too shabby! Would've looked a little better in rose gold, I think, but Mrs. TMG looks great either way, I'm sure.
And tell her to come on here once in a while, will ya...sad I'm the only girl now, since Rima and Denise left.
Hi Vic,
I agree on the rose gold; but the wife, like me is a fan of white metals.
I'll see if I can convince her to make an appearance

Superb review as usual By-tor! Thank you for your time and effort.

Euno,
My deepest condolences in this dfficult time for you and your family.

It's a chrono kind of day tomorrow
And for the Mrs., her first and only rep.... a 067. It's not quite accurate with the second pusher, but still a striking piece IMO.

Hi Tom,
I have a 78350 with 557 end links on my DW6263 and they fit okay, they aren't quite the correct height even with adjusting the "bite". The key is they're a lot easier to find than 571's.
The only other option for ones that will fit well are to have some made by Classic Watch Parts, but do be prepared for a long wait.
Good luck!

I would like to change the band on my DW 6263 V72.I think it's the worst part of the watch for now, or at least i focus on that one ....
I own a gen rolex date just 1500 who was fited with a 78350 19mm solid band, so i can tell for shure that DW's 78350 is not that good.
Actually you can't even use DW links to extend the gen bracelet because they can not fit.
I am not even speaking of the endlink, they took me like one day to drill and get in place ...
So i am thinking to upgrade for a gen.
I know that a combination of 78350 band and 571 endlink would be correct. But i have a hard time finding some (or they go for way to much $$$).
So my question is what other band / endlink where used on the 6263
I think floded link where olso sold with that watch, but dunno wich exact ref i think that would be 7835 ?
And did some riveted link where olso used ?
I think rivted links would be a perfect combo with the watch if it was used during production days .
Finally, did all the band used same 571 endlinks ?
Thanks for the advices ...

Of course! Not just by me, either.
I stopped just short of adding you to the "AWOL RWGers" thread I posted, lamenting the presences lost of such worthies as Euno, Ubi, and Rima.
Ahh, right, the dreaded going back to school. The tears. The tantrums. The endless forlorn goodbyes in the car, clinging to the jacket not wanting to let go.
And the kids are just as bad.
NICE! Projects are always fun to follow. It's the one thing which seems to separate a gen WIS from a rep WIS, to the rep WIS' credit.
P.S.: We have Youtube capability now!
Yes, I noticed too that we haven't seen Ubi and Euno around lately either.

tmg can u please be so kind and explain me what the VJ23 stands for .
regards laz
Hi Laz,
VJ23 is a Valjoux 23 movement, which is the 2 register version of a Valjoux 72, so the 6 o'clock register on my watch is frozen and does not function. I had this installed since the " DW mystery movement" that came with the watch was not dependable at best.

@TMG: Welcome back, dude. Where you BEEN?
Hi Victoria, nice to know I'm missed!
It was a busy week at work and my oldest started school this week.
But I did manage to snap a few new pix. I have a number of projects
in the works and will share them as they progress.

Those are sweet CJ, the 6's and 9's look great. Thanks for sharing!
I can't quite tell, do they have the signature Enzo acrylic filled numbers?

tmg -- Which case is that?
I cannot wait to see the finished project.
Hi Freddy,
It's an MBK/MBW 1680(5513).
-
DD -keep us posted on your project!
PF -I certainly think the no date subs are more balanced and love them as well. This gets more wrist time then most of my gens or reps.
Funny you mention a 5517... -Stay tuned
TWS -Thanks for the kudos, a date model vintage would sure make a nice trio for your collection.
Actually the insert has a cracked, worn down, dirty dot on it already
, it's hard to see in my pix. As for the hands, I'll see what The Zigmeister can whip up! But my vision would be a well used look with the dark lines you see collected on the edges of the lume where it meets the metal of the hands.
PP -on my cursory pass with the dial inserted in the case it fit fine, I guess if it needs shaving I'll cross that road when I get there. And yes please PM with the your technique for the hands, I'm all ears -your work is always impressive!
-
oooh, i smell 1680
Hi N,
This wasn't exactly building a project from all spare parts like your most recent pair
, but it was a fair deal on this gen dial and said what the heck this would be an easy project to put together.
