  1. That Tudor is awesome.

Poor me, starting to grow on me too !

I hope I will live long enough to get all these beauties on my list...

    Thanks for sharing,

    Cheers

    Stephane

    Thanks Stephane,

This is one Submariner that is still quite affordable, grab on while you can.

Mine was a wedding anniversary gift from my wife a few years ago. I had the bezel replaced as it was trashed and a Superdome T19 put on it. It also has an old twinlock crown :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  2. I was goofing around the other and day took these shots -hope you enjoy them.

This is a MKII Watches modified Marathon Navigator homage to the Benurus Type II. The Type II was a US issue non-magentic sterile watch for US Special Forces, Navy SEAL's/UDT and CIA members.

My gen Tudor 7016/0 military (or snowflake) Submariner was a favorite of many sailors and frogmen of course.

  3. For the life of me, I cannot remember what these straps are called...(See Below)

Any recommendations on a good source?

    DuDro,

I know HKTan also makes some with screws, you can find him on Paneristi. I'm sure you'll find others manufacturers as well there that offer them, but that was the first that comes to mind.

  4. Bertieng,

It will fit, I have one in my mystery movement 6263, The Zigmeister did the work -I'm not sure how easy or difficult it was. I lucked out and found a lone movement. I could bring myself to gutting one from a vintage Croton I had.

You will need the VJ72 hands though to mix and match with the mystery movement hands as the hour, minute, and sub dial hands do not fit my VJ23.

  5. The strap is a triumph, TMG! That's what these Wrist-Checks are made for, and is not a hijack, IMHO. :)

By the way, I got my own Zeugma yesterday. A dazzling colour somewhere in between butterscotch pecan, and dark blond chewing tobacco. Next to the PAVs and Simonas, the most expensive one yet. I have two to go: the Delaurian and the XaMas straps, and then I'll have collected all the PAM-centric straps I really covetted.

The Zeugmas are great, but I believe the guys in Turkey no longer custom-make them. If they have them ready-to-wear, great. If not...? Just curious.

Thanks Victoria, I'd love to see some pix of the new strap. You have quote the collection of PAMs and straps! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I think Nuri still custom makes straps but does sell some ready made on Paneristi as well. He turned the one in the pix around in less than a week. I have one other Zuegma that loos great on my 061. I'll have to get off my fat one and take some pix.

BTW, did you receive the DSN straps okay?

    Best,

    -TMG

  6. Sweet strap dude! what kind of strap is that? is there a site you can direct me to?

Thanks Nebakanezzar, I REALLY like this strap!

It's a custom made Zeugma strap, all handmade with vintage leather. They're pricey but he uses some amazing hides. Here's a few more shots to really appreciate the leather. Sorry for the hijack :)

  7. A friend of mine gave me a tip to go to a "Check Cashing" place, instead of buying it online, which quoted me U$42 to send the 390USD to DSN.

So I only paid $30 for the fee! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

And LANIKAI THANK YOU for you know what! Glad you had a great time, and looked smart to boot. I shall answer presently, after b-day dinner. ;)

That's weird, I just now priced WU online and it says:

    Amount to send $ 350.00

    Money transfer fee* $ 14.00

    Total estimated amount $ 364.00

But it was definitely the $30-40 a month ago.
