  1. Hi Fitmic. You will most likely get a lot of suggestions and here is mine: I use the Sony DSC-T100 as my everyday takealong camera. I believe it has meanwhile been replaced by another model and so you might check on the Bay. Original price was about double of your budget, but good used ones should be available for around 250$. My top three reasons for choosing this model: 5 x optical zoom (not 3x like most compact cameras) plus 10x digital small package -> important for me because my Nikon D80 stays home often because of its size good performance (8 Megapixel, ISO3200, steadyshot...bla,bla,bla - its all there and makes nice pictures too) The sony has a nice, large screen, no outside moving lens (!), makes nice videos with sound (640 x 480 with 30 frames/Sec, no time limit) - the list goes on and on. It is a good camera. A protective cover (see lower part of the pictured camera) slides over the lens when you switch it off. It has an "auto" mode that produces good pictures or people who are not interested in setup menues (like my wife ;-). One extra nice feature for watch lovers is the macro function. On the press of a button, you can take pictures in macro mode at 1cm (one centimetre) distance from the object. Few cameras can do THAT.
  2. I think you will have a hard time finding an accurate, quality rep of this particular Lange... or any other Lange. Unfortunately for us and good for them..., Lange is not really on the radar of the super-rep factories. All the ones I have seen, are either crappy or fantasy...
  3. AAA+ review. Thank you very much for spending the time to do this. My virtual POM award goes to you.
  4. Lot's of AP this time... well, here is my new member of the family, by way of TTK from MBW's infamous "last batch" ...
  5. Congratulations on a job well done. Modding a watch takes a lot of skill and there is nothing like proudly looking at the results of your own work.
  6. It's probably like with computers.... there will always be a faster, better one.... but if you keep waiting, afraid you might buy a model that will eventually be replaced by a better one, you will continue living without. If the UPO is what makes you tick... the ones available right now are really good - and remember, no rep will ever be perfect.
  7. I disagree.... I have a The Zigmeister relumed PAM 111h and no watch I own, including any of my many, many gens, even comes close to this thing.... then again, no gen PAM either
  8. I second that - I bought both sizes (44 & 47) and its one of the best investments if you plan on opening/closing a PAM caseback yourself. I also found that new watches (coming from CN) rarely come with a tightened caseback. With these tools you can do the job without putting one single scratch on your baby.
  9. I have yet to see a watch from Graham that I would wear (let alone buy.... - I guess its one of those designs that really polarize - you either like it, or hate it. Which - philosophically speaking - is good.
  10. So, hello there .... and remember... the best part of any temptation is ...to take the bait.
  11. Very sorry to hear the sad news, Laz. My sincere condolences. Cherish the memories..... only if we stop thinking of people we love they are really gone...
  12. here you go... the bracelet on mine is from Trusty. It is good quality. I use it mostly in summer, when the leather straps suffer from sweat.... while I use mine on two 111h and a 196, not all bracelets fit all cases. There was a similar post with a lot of pictures a while ago... go search in the PAM section....
  13. No guys, you got it all wrong.... this is a very accurate Rolex 116610
  14. LOL.... couldn't live without it, ey? I cross my fingers that the engine doesn't crap out....
  15. This thing started out as a delivery problem and not a quality problem. That issue has been solved. The quality issue is a complex one and will NEVER be solved to EVERYBODY'S satisfaction. If you put a gen and a rep side by side, same light, same angle, shoot a tripod macro picture and then have 30 minutes to stare at that shot on your computer screen, you will always find issues. Me, I'm not like that. The price of his inserts is cheap. The quality is not. They are good and visibly better than what the rep came with. Yes, you can buy a gen insert and it will be.... gen. It will also cost a lot more. I have his inserts on my noobs, on my GMT II, on my MBW 1680 and a few waiting to be installed. Works for me... but then again, thank God there's no "one size fits all"...
  16. I always set my watches to the second. Aside from other things, a watch is a precision instrument. It makes little sense if precision is not what you're after.
  17. Strange to hear that... I've ordered several inserts in various separate transactions over the course of this year and all came quick and excactly as promised. In fact his standard shipment to EU was quicker than expensive "nternational" shipping by Clarks. I especially liked his 16610 replacement for my noob - great deal and perfect fit. No glue or sanding needed.
  18. Truly a great review... having just received an MBW DRSD, I downloaded this one for reference. Thanks for sharing this.
  19. I agree - this is a great watch made with a lot of love for detail. Mine runs extremely accurate and I am very happy with it. I have meanwhile put it on a leather strap and that too looks great. I have a Chopard magazine ad with my exact model of the MM GMT and it looks just perfect.
  20. Yeah, it's really not good enough.... you should get rid of it. I'll mail you my address and I'll happily dump it for you... Seriously: I'm just looking at my MBW... if you feel this one is at 50%, don't waste any time waiting for your MBW to arrive....
  21. No, they should not. Because you have contributed so much to this forum, I will offer to give all your PAM's a new home. Send me a PM and I'll tell you where to ship them to. I always liked big watches on women....so my honest answer is yes, go for it. Pink gator works for me if it looks good on you (Kinda hard to judge by your hand alone...)
