Attention rep makers! We want this watch!

Isn't this supposed to be ceramic and not PVD? In any case, I secon Chief's idea - buy a blackseal and have it PVD'ed by Rolli... save the caseback, that's the best you will get. -
Need some help in photo enhancing/altering
chubbchubb replied to ajoesmith's topic in General Discussion
All you need is a software with layers (ie Photoshop). take one copy of the picture, convert to black & white (gold is gone), import as a layer to the original color picture. Place on top of the color layer. Delete the black and white part of the dial to let the color one come through. Voila.... -

A PAM 024 upgrade, and a PR lume...

Amazing work - as allways.... -
I've only had one of my PAMs professionally tested and it passed fine for 5atm (I did not test any deeper). It is one that I assembled from parts I had in my partsbox. The important elements are: is it a quality PAM case, are all o-rings (caseback / crown) in place, are they lubricated, is the crystal installed professionally - if the answer is yes to all these - then make sure that the caseback is tightened, the crownguard screws tighened and the crownguard lever is locked. Then there should not be a problem. In have showered and gone pooldiving with this watch.

Start of the week wrist check (Jan 6th - 8th)

So, he's loves the Blackberry Pearl?? Me, I've gone back to one of my favorite pieces... it's such a comfortable watch to wear.... -
There is some truth in what you said... a lot of Panerai models do look pretty similar. Aside from my 111h, all my other PAMS don't get much wristtime at the moment. I still love them though. But that's also one of the reasons I love rep-collecting. I can have a large variety of beautiful watches to fit my changing preferences. If my flavor of the month is not Pams but Rollies or AP's - so what. The others get a little rest in the watchbox and who knows.... next week, things might look different.

Rolli, your Panerai collection never ceases to amaze me... Beautiful piece...

The background of this picture has been altered in Photoshop... whoever did this, did a poor job and while cutting out the watch from its original background, deleted the CGL...

Nice watch... wear it well. My Chrono band had 3 changable links on the shorter band side and 4 on the longer. The bands are the same for the PO Chrono and the PO but the endlinks are different - at least the holes for the springbars don't work for my 007 PO (which I tried). If this post doesn't trigger a response from someone with a spare link, try posting a WTB (want to buy) in the trading zone... Enjoy the watch

Ok, another friendly bump from me....

OMG! This watch is simply beautiful...

That's bad news indeed. As I said before, this would be a definite buy for me.

interesting read indeed. -
I did some research about a year ago and found these PC based systems: 1.) hxxp://www.delphelectronics.co.uk/products.html 2.) hxxp://www.waschke-bochum.de/index_en.html 3.) hxxp://pczw.uhren-mikl.com/index.php?PC_Zeitwaage and a basic do-it-yourself version for those with soldering skills: 4.) hxxp://www.mikrocontroller.com/de/Zeitwaage.php PC based systems have a very significant price advantage over "traditional" timing analyzers like the ones build by Witschi or Greiner, mostly because they use a lot of hardware that's already in your laptop or PC. On the other hand, they are usually not as accurate. Problems may come from low quality microphones, software and soundcard. For the average Rep-Geek though, they are affordable, while Witschi, Greiner and other professional systems only make sense for a professional watchsmith. Don't forget though, that these machines assit you to regulate a clean, lubricated movement. If your movement performs bad because it is dirty, resinified or magnetized and needs servicing, such a machine will help you to find out but not do the trick.

Ola Amigo, wasn't the Mad Red a special engraving? As far as the rubber and the gap go, I have an EOD from TTK (not the MBW but the "V2") and that one has no gap and the rubber does not draw dust. I have, however, lost the rubber cover of one of the metal chrono pushers. It's glued on... TTK was so kind to offer to send me a spare pusher cover... My pusher problem makes me think that the gap of the crown could simply be a rubber cover that has "moved upwards".... (I posted that picture in a wristcheck and minutes later noticed the missing cover....)

It is so hard to find quality personel these days... not only at a watch AD though... how often does it happen to you that you actually know more about the product than the salesperson (Me, very often)?

New Porsche Design Chrono replica is out!
chubbchubb replied to chrgod's topic in General Discussion
Little do you know.... Porsche Design (http://www.porsche-design.com) is a design studio that does industrial and product design for anything from car related accessories to luggage to glasses to cellphones. They have been designing watches, when there was no Ferrari by Panerai or Breitling for Bentley. As for wearing a watch with the Porsche name on it.... the gen is cheaper than a lot of the Rolex, Panerai, AP or other watches which are shown as reps all over this forum... so, if you feel you can't pull off a PAM, then yes, maybe one of these might look funny too.... As for me - this one is a definite buy -
This watch is very high on my list and everytime I was close to pulling the trigger, another fine piece crossed my way. Still, there is no doubt, I'll get one in the not too distant future. As for the color of the dial, I would be careful. Firstly, dialcolor was a big issue (if you've read the whole post). Second, if you do some research for gen 252, you will see that the color very much depends on the lighting. I can show you several gen pix (Paneristi etc) where the dial looks more on the black side while others look blue. It might just be the light on Josh's and Andrew's website. Does anyone own the upgraded version an can share some first-hand pictures? To see my point:
