  1. I actually like Rolex and think they deserve a lot of respect for what they have contributed to the world of wristwatches in the past. Some of the newer stuff though looks like their main target audience may have shifted to Rap-Stars.... (or maybe I'm just getting old.... )
  2. It might well be that the construction (case, crystal, crown) of the rep SFSO is such that in theory the watch can withstand 10atm+ - However I NEVER trust the QC of any dealer (sorry guys). If I get a watch, I always
  3. Here we go.... first, the inevitable but nontheless great eta SFSO... Next up is my favorite tool watch, the B1 - take a look at this beautiful caseback... a Breitling classic - the Crosswind... and finally, the "piece de resistance" in my Breitling collection, the limited edition 1461 Navitimer
  4. It's a nice sports watch... the "Special Ops" is off course all marketing BS. Who cares. If Joe Schmoe feels like Jack Bauer when he wears the watch, that's fine with me. I just feel the prices are on the high side for a quartz watch. But then again, I own a gen Breitling B1....
  5. It really sucks if you sit down for what you think will be a quick repair/change and then you get stuck... glad to hear it finally worked out. Davidsen's cases are a bit different - as are Jiimmyzfu's. I have a bracelet and case from Andrew and they install just like a leather strap - no sweat. You definitely need more tools...
  6. Vic... I built this PVD from a 111h (dial, hands), a standard but reliable CN 6497 from my parts-box and a PVD case I bought from Tourby . To the best of my knowledge, It's essentially a fantasy PAM because there was never a gen PVD with a 111 sanwich dial. The strap comes from another 111h I bought from Luke (here on RWG) a few months ago. My guess is that he distressed it himself. I think it looks great, especially with the dark PVD case. The PVD buckle comes from the bay. I remember that Davidsen had both a nice PVD case kit and several complete PVD's (218/a, 202/a, 111). Go for it... the best thing about tempation is... to give in! It'll look great with your red nails...
  7. I totally understand your situation. Nothing in life is more important than family & health. All else can be bought, build and borrowed.
  8. sweet stuff... congrats to a proud owner.
  9. I rarely take my watch off... certainly not for sleeping...
  10. Excellent choice to start the habit...
  11. aah.. Victoria... is that Johnny Rockets?? Yummiyummi I'm wearing one of my favorites
  12. Read here http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...39&hl=Maria not saying that your seller is telling the truth though...
  13. @Pugster.... I just laughed so hard.... great new avatar!!!!
  14. stock shot... my PVD is meanwhile on a black croc with pvd buckle.... the watch remains the same...
  15. It made me very sad to read your story ....it triggered memories of my own experience with my mother's cancer related passing a few years ago. My thoughts are with you. Be strong.
  16. Very happy to see you've recovered...enjoy two of the really important things in life: family and health!
  17. Pugwash, try the Chopard... it is really a beautiful watch. Just a few more shots to tease ya...
  18. Bump Come on, people... noone is expected to donate his whole paycheck... but if all the people who read this forum - instead of buying a [censored] tabloid newspaper, which we all do day in day out - would donate a couple of bucks, then hosting would be paid for the next few years... It's not about how much you donate - it's all about how many of us donate!
  19. I've been wearing my new baby for about a week now... quite an impressive watch, both in terms of workmanship as well as reproduction quality.
  20. I am not an expert on US mobile rates but what I've heard from friends, they are not really cheap and roaming is expensive. Treo is a nice but somewhat bulky device. I own several mobile devices (phones, smartphones, pdas) and my current push favorite is the blackberry curve. It has a very nice size/weight/capabilities ratio plus quadband & the push...
  21. Donation done... thanks for your time and effort , Mr. T.
