  1. Aloah....! Makes me feel all warm inside....
  2. I have yet to see a rep of the Cosmonaute. None of the collectors I know carries one.
  3. Yep... very nice. I like massive Chronos...
  4. ...it's not WHAT you wear.... it's WHO wears it! M. thanks for sharing your most precious with us..... again.
  5. Very nice... a quality piece and stunning photography as always... Cheers
  6. Not quite... http://www.ofrei.com/page750.html more like 169$, but that is still double the Breitling strap.... which by the way also looks great on a white dial SFSO....
  7. in german ebay he's trading as uhrmacher24_de which is another url (uhrmacher24.de) for his site
  8. I have ordered from the guy in the past (for similar amounts) without any such problems. Of course that doesn't mean anything for your particular order. However, AFAIK apart from selling through his site, he is the biggest seller of watchtools on german Ebay, so I don't think he is scaming you. Just give it a little more time... if you need help in this matter at some point, let me know. I speak German.
  9. I do agree with you 100% - this issue (or a similar one) has been discussed several times in all the three forums I frequent... here people see the tiny details.. out there, barely anybody does. Having said that, I still don't understand why they are using a crappy fake Rolex (which still has to be sourced by the prop-guy) when you can bet your arm that at least three or four from the crew on set are wearing gen subs. All you do is ask "Hey Joe, can I borrow your sub for a sec?"
  10. I have no problem with the subject matter as such .... I only don't need it here, really...
  11. Yep... this is clearly a matter of personal taste... some people take their watch off for sleeping, some for sex, some never. For me a watch is similar to my wedding ring... I wear it, wear it ... and forget that I wear it. So it it comes in handy if the watch is waterproof... because as a halfway civilized man, you do shower every once in a while... PS: the only place where I never wear a watch is in the sauna... because that's hardcore QC even for quality gens...
  12. Model: PO Casino Royale 007/ETA Size: 45mm Seller: Silix Rain: Yes, no leaks or mist Shower: Yes, no leaks or mist Pool/Ocean 3 meter/10 feet: Yes, no leaks or mist Jay supposedly took extra measures (and definitely extra $) to waterproof this model of the watch. I've been using this and my SFSO from PT as the summer, beach, pool, shower watches. Absolutely no problems so far. Oh, I should mention that I did (and had to) tighten the caseback when I received the watch (never trust anything but your own QC...) In also own a 7750 PO Chrono (see my signatue) but that watch has seen no water except a bit of my sweat.....
  13. When speaking about watch tools... this is the one... and no surprise that The Zigmeister pointed at it...
  14. It's definitely on the shortlist... thanks for reminding me Pugwash...
  15. No-oh-oh, they be stealin' my Rolex Crown... CSI to the rescue... You could be right about the props thing...
  16. I am going to try this too... In the meantime... there are a couple of similar solutions (microphone hardware and pc software) on the market (which I found when doing some research on the subject last year). Of course most of them still carry pricetags that only make sense for the serious collector. Nonetheless none of these even comes close in price to an Elma, a Witschi or a Greiner, which are all well beyond 1.200$ These links are in German... http://anonym.to/?http://pczw.uhren-mikl.c...hp?PC_Zeitwaage -> 319 Euro http://anonym.to/?http://www.waschke-bochum.de/index_de.html -> 375,40 Euro and this "do-it-yourself" here for your techno geeks... http://anonym.to/?http://mikrocontroller.c...e/Zeitwaage.php
  17. "It's gen cause it has no ticks..." what an expert opinion.... I was never crazy about her character in the show anyway.
  18. This is a very beautiful piece.... but with all due respect... you need to practice with your camera, BADLY!
  19. Ruby is offering a very good deal on these. I love the design... just curious about reliability.... BTW: In German (and Swiss German for that matter), "TACHOMETER" is a word for "SPEEDOMETER" which makes a lot of sense sense for a "Mille Miglia" Watch. As you all know, you can measure speed with a chrono and that's what the numbers on the outer ring are for...it even says "Km/h" which is short for "Kilometers per Hour"
  20. I think this is a halfway decent design... always difficult to mix analog and digital in one watch and still get good looks. The functionality - while not breathtaking - is ok. Probably the biggest problem to get more features into a watch is lack of space and energy. If you can look at your watch to see who's calling and accept the call with your watch and don't need to fumble for your phone, that's a nice feature for someone who is a heavy cell-user. Price in EU is around 269€ to 299€. @phoband... I have to admit though that reading the title, I did expect something else....
  21. Like the surfer said.... to use glue on crown and stem while the watch is still assembled is pretty risky. A movement is a delicate thing and one tiny drop of glue in the wrong place can $
  22. one of my all time favorites... one of the true Rolex classics.... with a new insert....
  23. Well, this is the tag of the Watchmaker who sold or build the watch. His Name was Rob(ert?) Zumkeller, he was a watchmaker (Uhrmacher) by profession, and his shop was located in Chemnitz (a city in the Eastern part of Germany), Am Markt 12 (Street Address). I've done a quick Google but did not find anything. In the absence of any experience in this type of clocks... that's all I can help you with. Good luck Sherlock...
