  1. These are really cool as is. Very unique.
  2. The question is, "How much more black could this be?" And the answer is, "None. None more black." Cool watch!
  3. Not a bad pickup at all. Well done!
  4. Awesome. These are awfully close out of the box.
  5. Thanks, S. It is certainly a keeper. All in, this was less expensive than a gen. Like I said, though, that wasn't the object when I set out to complete the watch. This was more about the search. I'm now down to just this watch, in fact. It will likely be my last rep. My next watch will be an 24, and I've got just the occasion to buy that one. In the meantime, I am extremely happy -- and proud -- with this one.
  6. This was an amazingly helpful review. I've always wondered about this rep. One passed through my hands briefly with a chief crystal, swiss 7750 and lume, and it was a fantastic watch. Owners of the rep should be proud.
  7. For the record, you're both valuable assets to this community. Two of the truly great ones. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
  8. I was going to say. You have to be at least 6'5. That watch actually looks proportional on you. Well done!
  9. Not trying to pad the post count. I just got these pictures put together and I wanted to share. This watch has taken a ton of time, a ton of patience, and a ton of cash. Some would argue that I could have had a gen for the price. I believe, however, that this particular watch was never about the money -- it was about the chase. Many of you on the board have helped, some in getting parts, some in buying parts off of the old watch (i.e. LH dial, V crown guard, palp crown). It's been fantastic. I've had multiple gens of multiple brands, but this one is very special to me. I decided to put this watch together upon learning that we were having a boy -- born July 16. I thought this would be a nice gift for him, and there would be an interesting story to go with it. Basically, if you can see it, then it's gen. Gen dial, gen hands, gen crown guard, gen movement, etc., etc. The caseback, however, is not gen. I will post a pic later, but it's a blank Jimmy Fu with sapphire. I wanted a blank caseback so that I could engrave my name, his name and his birthday on it. As soon as I find a trustworthy engraver, off she goes one last time. So the pictures. I'll upload more in the near future, but this should give you an idea.
  10. Uh, yeah! Great collection.
  11. It's really, really nice. You're going to have some good datewheel solutions here in the near future. The crown and pin are also easily addressed. It's a real beauty.
  12. It's a beautiful piece, but I've never been completely drawn to this watch. The Minerva movement seemed random. What's the connection again?
  13. Oof! Simply stunning stuff. Adeeos is a master.
  14. Beautiful piece. One of my all time favorite models. Yours is something special.
  15. Pretty awesome combo. Fits that watch perfectly.
  16. This has probably been discussed before, but what about installing an ultimate crystal on a DSN watch AND using a leo DW? Best solution?
  17. That is a hassle. Anyone have his western union info handy?
  18. Hey, all. Got a moneybookers account, got a MB account name from DSN. How do I pay him? Someone please help!
  19. W, do you know how long I looked for that dial before I ultimately ditched my 188? I thought it was the proverbial white unicorn. Yours is absolutely stunning. Congrats on a fantastic watch!
