  2. Hi, I recently discovered that one of my favourite watches ever, the Chronosport UDT, a true toolwatch, is a sibling of the Breitling Pluton/Intruder/Navitimer Quartz, allegedly made by Breitling. I guess in the 80
  3. Hi fellows, I found this on the bay and was amazed by the size, 49mm case. Is it "simply" a modified pocketwatch? Or was it made like this originally?? To my noob eyes, it looks like a pocketwatch with added lugs and a crown swap. Here's some of the pics shown: Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...y0%3D%26fvi%3D1 Thanks for any input. Also, if anyone would care to guess its "value", it would be appreciated. Cheers MG EDIT: HAVING CHECKED THE SELLER'S STUFF OUT AND LOOKED AT IT A LITTLE MORE I GUESS IT MUST BE A MODDED POCKETWATCH. STILL CURIOUS ABOUT ITS VALUE THOUGH.
  4. Invaluable. Love this forum. Thanks (& merry Xmas) MG
  5. Hi SDDS interestees, As we all know, the "Best" Deepsea with asia 2813-2 costs about USD 130 whilst the swiss 2836 version sells for USD 200 more. Which suggests getting the cheapest version and sticking a swiss 2836 into it would be economically sound unless the transplant is tedious (i.e. costly). I happen to have a Swiss 2836 (unmodified, non-gmt) lying around with nowhere to go. Hence the Q: How easy is it, time and parts wise, for a watchsmith to simply swap movements? Thanks for your valuable input on this, kind regards MG Edit: Some spelling errors:)

  12. Considering this is a forum for fake watches enthusiasts, not horologists, the level of skill, patience and ingenuity among the members never ceases to amaze me. Well done. This hobby must be so much more enjoyable for you guys who possess skills like these. Very inspiring. MG

  14. Thanks. Damn, I
  15. Indeed. So if I got a 2.69 CP, would that mean that the minutes hand will be "vertically positioned" 2.69 mm over the movement? MG
  16. Hi guys, a call to those who are horologically enclined: I have seen the raising of hands on several vintage Pam projects, and need to do the same with the hands on a Accutron cal 214 "GMT" movement (as featured on the 1960
  17. Hey smc Great read - keep posting! Reading about peoples "problems" is often more interesting than reading about their successes, and its always cool to follow a project from scratch rather than just seeing the end result. Also, luming is a fascinating topic in itself, furthermore we need more lumers and luming services on this forum. Keep Going! MG
  18. An amazingly interesting point. Good observation, Pug. I believe this is a design feature which is built into the religion in order to facilitate timelessness and thereby ensuring long-term relevance in the mind of the religion

  22. FOR YOUR INFORMATION, THE SELLER REPLIED TO MY QUESTION WHETHER 2836-2 IS READY TO TAKE THE 4TH (GMT) HAND. Thanks .... - bandmaniac007 Did this answer your question? If not, let the seller know.
