Hi. For a fantasy/homage project I found this movement on the bay.

I know it doesn't make any sense historically, I just like its crude/badboy look. There's something very unrefined about this thing.
The question is whether it will fit inside a 47 mm case (like the DSN 6154)???
Any input greatly appreciated.

Hi. Simple question probably:
I recently bought a SSD from Andrew. Problem is - the date seems to be changing GRADUALLY, and not at midnight, but around 5 pm. I checked the movement - its ETA.
Is this my fault? Should I set the watch in a particular way or at a particular time to "program" a twelve o
For a very special project I will be using Omega date indicator hands for hours (white tip) and minutes (red tip). They need to fit a 218 tuning fork movt. Obviously, the Omega hands (check that big hole) will not fit without modification.
As far as I can see, this is the option:
Cut tuning fork movt hands down to only a few millimeters so that they fit INSIDE the hole on the Omega hand, supeglue in place. Then cosmetic surgery to hide/cover what
What an outstanding aspiration, what a super professional approach!! When I saw this I thought "I'd give a kidney or a lung or something for this watch". Good luck with the end result and thanks for the inspiration

Thx B-T & Toomuch will check. Yup that MBK/W vintage GMT is awful.
BTW, check this GMT from andrew. WTF is that gooey glooey stuff coming out from the 18 mark on the bezel? Do they drop ship even to their own photographer? Middle bottom pic. Hah.

Hi guys.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone on this amazing forum could provide a super hi-res picture (for vectorization) of a Speedmaster dial. Making a custom dial based on speedie. I know taking the pic may be a hassle and will gladly pay, pls PM me.
Looking for something like this:

It might be expensive and maybe otherwise silly also, but CASTING a one-off with some very moderate wear and tear is a thought that might deserve consideration before going for laser/water etc.
I want one with some lead in it...
EDIT: Many buyers won
IMHO the new design looks more generic (unbranded, standardized) than the old one ---GOOD! The old style has always struck me as blingy/fancy. IMO toolwatches should have as many generic-looking parts as possible and STILL be unique. Using generic style parts demands a brand with big testicles and trust in their core essence. That being said, maybe Panerai are targeting Rolex users who want bigger watches.

BTW all, got a reply from Ofrei on wether all (their) quartz "sweepers" tick once per second... Does the pope wear a funny hat? Not really.
Still, Interesting things (Oysterquartz elaboration etc) came outta this thread, thanks for well-conceived replies and contributions. And Ofrei has tought us that "sweeping seconds" means two things: Sweeping if we
Sure is a bewt movt. However tuning forks IMHO are cheaper (50-100 USD), more "mysterious" (humming sound) and feature a high enough frequency...dammit those S-drives are costly. Pls lemme know if you know of any budget springdrivers...

Wow baglc1, some interesting perspectives there.
In my view, perfect sweep is (oopps going off topic:) kind of a cosmic<philosophical<spiritual<aesthetic thing, as I there is no such thing as step-by-step movement in reality, it
Ok so I guess they tick if pug says so!! I was fooled by the youtube video too!! The world wide web of lies!!
However the info needed is:
The ETA Quartz movements (as sold by ofrei) with sweeping seconds: How many times per second they tick? Is it 8-ish like mech Rolex, 300-360 times/sec like tuning forks?
Pug - you
