  1. ...Or tiles... I have a gorgeous titanium cased homage with a skeletonised 6497 which I wore every day for months. One day It feel out of my gym bag and straight onto tiles. Movement hasn't worked since and the crystal popped out. But I loved the ergonomics of the Luminor case and decided to get a 111 You can probably bash a PAM Luminor case around, the steel is very thick and I doubt you would do much more than damage, the crystal will take a real beating, but dropping the case from distance would be I'll-advisable. My skeletonised movement was definitely more sensitive but I wouldn't want to repeat it with a solid-bridged version.
  2. Remember also that these 6497 pocket watch movements are hand wound, so every 42 hours you'll need to wind it up. For your use, a rugged quartz watch will definitely do the job... However... So will a nicely maintained 005k. Contact one of the modders and ask them to quote you for a standard 005k with upgraded high-beat Seagull (they'll know what it means) and then get them to waterproof to 5 ATM. If you're careful to wind it, nothing short of a direct impact will damage it. The sapphire cystals are incredibly hardy. ...then you need a strap...
  3. Those makers have a way of replicating finishes, I'm sure they'll throw in a bit of brown powder into the PVD machine while cooking... The process to create the finish on the 386 had nothing whatsoever to do with PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition). The watchcase is aluminium, and undergoes a chemical reaction (I'm going with electroplating, although it's not clear) to form Al2O3 on the surface, which is the nerdy name for ceramic. The brown colour comes from the unique chemistry, so no, PVD will not give you that colour. But I'm sure they will mock something up... These makers have a way of getting around such things
  4. 17 bucks from Maratac, 4-ring Zulu, the brushed rings match the brushed CG, looks great, hasn't been off the wrist in weeks!
  5. Great dial cutouts on these 177s. Nice case too, and I imagine the lume is bright wear it well mate.
  6. Does she cook and clean? If she does, hang onto her, they're a dying breed... You have no idea the girls today, all they think about is 'me me me' How are the grls in your area Zeleni?
  7. Yummm! Looks like the 312's war vet cousin, just returning after a stint in Afghanistan... love this watch, and love that finish... This will sell like hot cakes...
  8. The pics on te website are not of the Gen. The two big gears and the incabloc shock protection are clearly Asian, but the finish and CDG on this are very very good. What do they charge for shipping? Might be worth getting hands on one, or getting Sead to put one in a 177 for us?
  9. Pictures or it hasn't happened... looking forward to the promo pics during production.
  10. Pictures or it hasn't happened...
  11. An Amish boy and his father were visiting a mall. They were amazed by almost everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that could move apart and back together again. The boy asked his father, "What is this, Father?" The father [never having seen an elevator] responded "Son, I have never seen anything like this in my life, I don't know what it is." While the boy and his father were watching wide-eyed, an old lady in a wheel chair rolled up to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls opened and the lady rolled between them into a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched small circles of lights with numbers above the walls light up. They continued to watch the circles light up in the reverse direction. The walls opened up again and a beautiful 24-year-old woman stepped out. The father said to his son, "Go get your mother."
  12. Wheaton's famous 328 (as used in the rep/gen comparison is on it's way, should arrive in the next couple of days... Hitting refresh on the tracking site hourly, To warrant starting a post called 'waiting by the mailbox', you must be seriously excited...

  15. Agreed, that first shot in the first post is INCREDIBLE!
  16. Direct, unedited quote from listing: "I am positive anybody who purchases this dial will be unhappy." Damn straight... This looks like the V2 with unseparated batons, worth $15-20 at most. I hope nobody falls for this trash.
  17. I use Safari and Tapatalk, the only advantage of Tapatalk is that you can upload images directly, whereas you need to use the Photobucket App to do it within Safari. I'd stick with the Safari interface, much nicer
  18. Available at most good board-recommended dealers...
  19. I reckon it's that little bugger with the bib... Look at him, he's so crazy he needs to wear a bib to contain his drool My god that girlfriend is a total hottie! Hopefully she finds out the doichebaggery her bf has been getting up to...
  20. These custom offerings are really unique, nice work
  21. That really is a pretty combo... So jealous...
  22. Orloff can supply different parts of the leather, you need only ask which type of pattern you like. I don't believe it is possible to emboss and then treat the leather, although if it is, the process results in an outstanding finish.
