  1. I can try some pic's tonight after work, but all i have is a Sony Handycam, so my pic's are generally crap. I can tell you that the Asian movmt model is physically the exact same as the swiss, except the date font is thinner and when the crown is in the "set hour" position, it sticks out from the case further, both those are both mvmt related isssues. As for the Casing, it's 1:1 between the asian and swiss. Also, even the best rep is going to have some manufacturing flubs...in gernal, my asian one appears to have been built with more tlc than my swiss. Gave my asian pumpkin to my buddy for his b-day yesterday, and it was damn hard to let it go. Going to get two more asians; one to replace my pumpkin and the classic dial black. They are awesome! Bryan
  2. Well folks, today, i couldn't take not knowing anymore, so I decided to get my PO's wet. Asian Pumpkin & 2006 Dial Swiss. Today we saw action in the shower, the pool, and the hot tub with both watches, and they were tight as a drum and dry as a bone. Precautionary measures included: 1. Case back tightening with needle nose pliars & a chamois ( to prevent scratching ) 2. HE Valve tightening with same pliars. 3. Made sure crown was hand tightened. Nothing fancy, and nothing more than what I stated, and both are doing just fine 4 hours later. More and more it is looking like these are water tight out of the box fairly consistently. Anyone else worked up the nerve? Bryan
  3. I've got two that thread internally, and they work fine. Sometimes to aligh the threads, I have to push in slightly, and turn backwards. When I feel a slight "click" I know I have reached the point where the threads line up, and I keep pushing inward (gently) and begin turning the other way without letting the crown pop back up at all. Works every time. Try that and see if you are able to thread it.
  4. The crown tube threads on both my asian and swiss ult po are on the interior of the tube, and both are smooth.
  5. Well kind of...I am about to have all 3 Ultimate PO's, and I am about to rebuy the IWC Inge, because I have been a hollow shell of a man since I sold my first one.
  6. 222 is an asian 21j movement right? If so, I haven't seen anyone offering a crown for this one. It has the both fortunate and unfortunate distinction of being one of the best quality (casing) 21j watches, but there likely aren't enough that fit that bill to generate enough interest to drive a run of crowns. Just supposition on my part.
  7. I have the Asian Ultimate Orange, and the Swiss Eta 2006 Dial with black bezel. The watches are identical aesthetically...obvious the exact same casing...no question. The Asian version has a loud rotor and winds smoother. Other than that, same weight, sweep, awesome lume, etc. The ONLY differences I could find visually is that the case on my asian has fewer manufacturing duffs, and has an ever so slightly smaller date font. I love them both, have gotten mad compliments on both, and will likely buy the black and white asian version to round out my po collection. If you can live with the loud rotor, or want to take a chance greasing it as some other members have suggested to kill the noice, it's every bit as fantastic a rep as the swiss version. Bryan
  8. I think any company that outsources to another country with a lower standard of living in order to take advantage of lower costs and make more profits should have to accept this a part of the cost of doing business in a manner that is in my estimation unethical to begin with. I think exporting jobs to other countries is nothing short of government sanctioned treason, and I am happy to see these manufacturers getting bitten in the ass by counterfeiting.
  9. well, first you have to exchange your money for replica cash, and then you send them replica cash, and before they realize it, they send you the watch, so the jokes on them! no...I'm not going to be that much of a [censored]. I'll just very gingerly and prolitely ask you to invest a little time and read and research for yourself in the dealer review section in particular. We've all been at this for a long time, and our dealers are very reliable, so take some time to read and educate yourself, so you'll realize how fortunate you are to have stumbled upon this forum, that is, if you like collecting rep's as much as the rest of us. That's about as gently as you could ask for this crowd to have handled your question. Have fun!
  10. I wish my wife would get into this....she may be coming around though.....she has officially laid claim to my pam 029, put it on a black leather strap, and only let's me touch it when she needs me to change the date or time.
  11. I have one of the original 2893 pam 029's and I ordered a bracelet from Andrew for it. I am pleased to say that not only did I get a fantastice bracelet that actually tapers like the gen, but it also fit like a glove. You can usually get a rep bracelet to fit any of the 44mm rep cases. You may have just gotten an odd case or bracelet.
  12. I don't know.....Eddie Lee says that running sec's at 6 are no problem for this watch, and Eddie Lee's word is gospel in the church or replicalorum.... eeyay jesu dominae <<whack!!!>>
  13. also found this..... http://www.clearwiresucks.com/ the evidence would seem overwhelming that this company just really doesn't have it's act together. Let me know what state you're in and I'll see if I can source a more stable wimax provider.
  14. yeah, broadbandreports had some pretty sobering [censored] to say about them; this is just one: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,155...ilite=clearwire Another thing I have learned is that broadband customers are always ready to share their bad experiences, so if you're curious as to how a company is perceived by it's customers, try googling "(company name) sucks." When I do that for my company name, there are zero results, when I do that for clearwire, there are over 10 pages of results, when i do that for airband, there are also no results. In short, if you have not bought from clearwire, don't, and if you have but are inside your "zero penalty" cancellation period, cancel, or just get ready to be [censored] off for the length of your contract. Bryan
  15. TT, I am the Director of Sales for a Nationwide ISP, and I used to work for a regional CLEC that went out of business in 1999 that was headed by one of the most incompetent asshairs I have ever encountered in my career. I know that he took the helm at Clearwire for a while, but whether or not he is still there is unknown to me. The fact that they hired this assclown speaks volumes as to their lack of vision, and inability to execute, but I don't know anything about them first hand. There are a couple of good industry resources, for these things, but I would suggest trying www.broadbandreports.com and do a search for that company's name and see what their reviews look like. I'm assuming you're in FL, so if you're looking for a fixed wireless provider, you might see if airband has coverage in your area. You can check for service here http://www.airband.com/checkforservice.aspx, and please understand, I am not endorsing them, just providing something for you to investigate. I'd love to help you myself, but we provide neither wireless or residential service. Cheers, Bryan
  16. I am waiting on anyone to give some feedback on this movement.....I am thinking of ordering the black and white and the orange tomorrow....that would only cost slightly more than the swiss version 2006 dial that I already bought

  18. I did not realize there were any; where do you find them?
  19. Bazz, So yours is water resistant without doing anything special? Bryan
  20. yes; the trick is that by the time the tracking works at all, the watch is usually on your wrist already.
  21. yeah, it "wears" smaller than a panerai, about the same as an inge.
  22. hooked on rep daytonas? damn, that's like saying I am addicted to terminally ill prostitutes. Sure, they may be pretty to look at, but they are going to die and soon.
  23. Hell, all 3 of my bosses demanded to know where I got those watches, and were they paying me too much, and now they both have a couple of reps from Andrew and Josh. Actually there is only one guy in the office that's not into it, so we can open enjoy our hobby, and we have all our watches delivered to the office so we all get to geek out when a new watch arrives. You should have seen the faces when I got my Ultimate PO yesterday.
