  1. bump for extreme lume shot; sorry it's not better, but it did capture the intensity.
  2. I took some pics today at work; will post when I get home and get the kids fed.
  3. I got too cozy with the martini's last night, and ended up neglecting to take pics, or clean up my mess in the kitchen, and set my kids school clothes out for this morning, all of which got me a healthy dose of "stink-eye" from my wife. I promise I'll at least take SOME kind of pics today and post them up by this evening.
  4. well, I ran out of daylight before I got the kids fed and of to bed. I am tempted to use some tracing paper to try to create a flash filter for my shitty little Nikon and take some pics, but I am 3 Martini's down, and I don't know if I should be handling equipment. I just wanted to add that I let this bad boy charge under a yellow hue halogen light for 5 minutes, and voila! it was glowing like a radioactive smurf....good consistent blue lume, and it lasts. I am SOOO pleased. I showed all my collector buddies at the office, and they were in total disbelief. I cannot wait to take some pics. I'll futz around with it and see what I come up with. Much love to all my brothers in the hobby. Bryan
  5. Well, Today I received my V3 DSSD from Sead (supermirrors over at RG). Shipped from inside the US, paid to upgrade my shipping to overnight. What can I say? It doesn't get any better than that. When I pulled it out of the bubble wrap, and removed all of the protective adhesive, I felt like Jodie Foster in Contact when she looked through the transparent wall of the wormhole vehicle and saw the alien world and was rendered speechless by the gravity of it's existence and beauty. There is nothing factual i can say about this watch that hasn't already been said, so I will offer my entirely subjective opinion. This is the most well constructed watch, rep, gen, hommage, home made, or otherwise that I have ever owned in my life. Couple that with the benefit of buying from a stateside dealer who offers QC, and getting a perfect specimen overnight, and there are scarcely words to describe my satisfaction with this watch, and the process by which I came to own it. If there is any daylight when I get home, i will try (and fail) to capture the magnificence of this watch in photographic detail. I'm going to go be alone with my watch over a cup of coffee. For now, good night.....and good luck. Edited to add: this is the "swiss" movement version. Bryan Photos: Lume shot - I spent several frustrated minutes trying to capture what I was seeing with my eyes. I hate my camera / skill set Thanks for looking. Bryan
  6. looks like a v2, but the CG seems wrong for v2. Odd. Maybe the dealer just threw together some parts. Couldn't say.
  7. I don't have a gen strap, but i would think it would be easy enough to source a rep GMTIIC bracelet. I know it's the wrong bracelet, but I like it the best out of all the Rolex bracelets.
  8. cool; getting mine tomorrow. Every review gets me more excited.
  9. Can anyone speak to the comparative sizes of the YM lugs and the GMTIIC Bracelet? -Bryan
  10. it's easy; kids cry really loud when they don't get to eat.
  11. I have this watch on order from a stateside dealer, Sead (supermirrors) from RG. He is wildly popular at the moment and gets a lot of good feedback. I will post a review of the watch (QC wise) and my experience with him when it arrives today or tomorrow. He gives the option to dropship or order from him once he has stateside stock. I chose the latter. Hope the QC makes a difference; we'll see.
  12. likely not the date wheel, but the cyclops. Might be older version. Can you post pics?
  13. I am going to vote for the middle chap. Actually, I'd take a Ball over an Anonimo, but not that Ball.
  14. I don't guess you snapped any pics while you were doing that to help us understand the great mysteries of life????
  15. not that I give two shits about Owen Wilson, Hollywood, Rolex, or Melrose Jewelers, but I have to comment on how utterly tasteless this kind of publicity is. That would be like saying Astroglide helped the Travoltas get over the loss of their son. I should write an article called, "Melrose Jewelers Teaches Everyone How Not to be a Tasteless Douche."
  16. So, did they tell you how to prevent further aggrevation from your angina? Glad to hear you are well! And you are right, it could have been worse....MUCH worse....it could have been MANGINA!!!!! lol
  17. depending on how far you were willing to take it, there are consumer protection laws that are clearly on your side, that would have allowed you to successfully demand that they honor their advertised price.
  18. Hey, maybe if we give him a couple of nooby snacks, he can solve the mystery of why every time a new generation of a rep is released, the [censored] up as many things as they fix from the last iteration. Welcome!!!!!
  19. I was old school in a past life, but all my knowledge and experience was stripped from my conscious memory when I was born this time around, but fortunately, my old school mentality was preserved. Awesome post.
  20. Due to the surprising lack of response, I think I am going to try this needlessly complicated sounding recipe: http://www.goodchilirecipes.com/best_chili_recipe.html
  21. Now that the weather has cooled off, I am looking to make my first pot of Chili for the year, and thought I'd branch out a little this year and see if any of my fellow rotorheads had any particularly kickass recipes. Whatever else the recipe has in it, I will add ground turkey, ground pork sausage, and small cuts of tri tip loin steak. I've got little ones that like moderately spicey food, but I am not looking to re-decorate anyone's intestines, so please keep it to spicy and avoid any "radioactive recipes". Thanks in advance, Bryan
