  1. Welcome and congrats on your noob jungle! Yeah I know...right now it looks great, but the longer your here and the more watches you look at and learn about... sooner or later you won't be able to look at that crown..so the hunt begins ..ta da! Gen crown off the bay for 50$! Might as well get that tube for it too! What a difference that made! Then it's of to get a better pearl and sand down the insert! just sayin....

You know, I hadn't thought of the looting.....farthest thing from my mind. But now with recent events..the flashmobs, England, the president's waining popularity- and a high probability of him not being reelected..and just all the tension and unrest in general... It is very likely this may be the mother of all lootings. It was bad at Katrina but this may be huge. Prayers sent for the people in that area.
  3. Jmb is a member here. He does mods and builds some mighty fine 14060's
  4. It's from the new super-secret rep factory in Bermuda.. Nah..just kidding! I bought from an ex britsh special forces guy turned pro diver that lives in Bermuda. He bought from George in 2004 and dived on three continents.. and just beat the crap out of it. When I was going to pay him..he sent me private links to check out his story..seeing I wasn't 100% sold on the deal.. He overnighted it fedex to me no money up front and just asked that I pay him if I liked it. Jmb rebuilt it for me recently with gen crown, insert and a Wm9 dial. That's my story....and I'm stickin to it! Btw Hike...killer explorer!!

  8. Sorry to dissapoint TeeJay, it's just the picture maybe? It's a 2 piece Nato. I have small wrists and 2 pc look and fit me better. I've not seen a Velcro band other than that NASA made for speedy's. And....Wow J! Your Gmt is really looking great!
  9. Well come on down C!
  10. Looks like you've got a great watch and your off to a good start modding!
  11. Dwelli'n again
  12. Yeah! that's pretty cool!
  13. Your not kidding about this heat! I have a friend in Denver that told me he was really tired of the heat the other day...it was 84!
  14. Wow..I would have thought Phong would just use his Rolex cases and engrave them for Tudor himself, since he does engraving. That's a shame sly, sorry it worked out that way. I like the Josh 5512/5513 cases myself, other than the small Cg's...and who knows, Jmb might solve that problem someday with welds.
  15. My 5512 today
  16. Was kidding alli! Katt over at RWI is in his area and can help
  17. I think Dizzy made some of these bracelets ...anybody see him lately?
  18. All I can tell you is your Wm9 is worthless now...I see your a new member, so I will send you 100$ to take it off your hands.. so you can get a better watch!
  19. Thanks for the answer, you put alot into this project. What was wrong with the Phong case? Jmb is putting a blue one together for me using a Josh 5512 case..tiny cg's and all.
  20. What was then end result sly?
  21. That seems to be the biggest problem I find with no gaurd rep cases. All the dials I'm looking at from Ingod, Yuki or Ndt seem to be 27mm. Anyone know of lower cost 37-38mm no gaurd cases for 27 mm dials? Are the higher $ cases from Phong, J&W, or Yuki the only answer to build a vintage no gaurd watch?
  22. I saw those yesterday. Did you get a deal on buying all of them?
  23. @Charleston, I suggest if you have not done this type of modding in the past, that you obtain some spare parts before you begin. Yes.. use regular household bleach, some dilute with part water or just straight bleach. You need to keep an eye on it, different bezel inserts react in different ways. I have had several inserts do nothing after 3 hrs in pure bleach and some have lightened halfway after 20 minutes. Good idea to have a backup insert in case you end with a plain metal disc. You might want extra hands..they damage easily just by removing and installing....let alone what happens in the oven. I have done these things and been held up and had order parts...because I wasn't paying attention
