  1. I couldn't agree more, this great place we call 127.0.0.1 and all you good people are a couple of the things I'm thankful for!
  2. Magnificent result! It's got understated character out the wazzoo. Hang onto that one.
  3. "A" beer? Sign me up for a 6-pack. It's been a long week.
  4. Holy smokes, that thing is beyond spectacular.
  5. Well said, Freddy and Mike. "Gentlemen - you are free to express your views, but not to use foul language or to attack specific people. That is over the edge." We're all on thin ice here so everyone keep it civil. Let me refer everyone to Forum Rule #6 [6] - Any discussions regarding politics and/or religion in any way will be closed or deleted unless determined to be pertinent by admins/mods.
  6. A gen ring will be functionally no different than an aftermarket ring, if it fits right. Measure the OD of your rehaut, OD of your crystal and ID of your bezel. Then give JMB a PM.
  7. It should have a similar profile to the 6536 or 6538 rings but the diameters might be wrong. If all else fails you can try JMB and his mad skillz at machining metal. He could recreate Van Gough's "Starry Night" given enough time and brass.
  8. "Older" Snowflakes?! Well!!! I'll have you know the Frosty Flake is a lady of a certain age, and well seasoned. Certainly not OLD! *harumph*
  9. Well, dip me in batter and call me a donut ... you learn something new every day. Although, I bought the Frosty Flake's valuable guts from nick1972 and at that time the consensus was that a Snowflake Submariner HAD TO have the "backwards Z" dial. So there we have it, confirmation that it's a gen from two of the forum's Silverbacks, You can't ask for much better validation than that.
  10. Exactly, there is no provenance there, and nobody is going to vouch for it. Part of trading in Rolex (Tudor) is the ability to gain value over time and that comes from provenance.
  11. The "S" is wrong in SUBMARINER so it's an ftermarket dial and hands. I'm not loving the case either. Look at the "backwards Z" in a genuine dial... and the minutes hand should be slightly narrower than the fat segment of the hours hand below its diamond... the tip of the hours hand will also be narrower than the fat trunk.
  12. Unfortunately not, because as we all know, every snowflake is unique. But it's close to 1:1
  13. I've examined the headers from one of the scam messages and they're a typical spoof, coming from yahoo servers. Unfortunately the people doing this are not clever, but are persistent. I was able to find the username plus email address on google for one of the people that received a scam email. This is why we ask that users NEVER make public their email addresses. Please keep them private and ask the people to whom you give them to keep them that way.
  14. Greetings from the land of ice and snow!
  15. Yep! One of Maria's last creations. Where's your dial coming from?
  16. 3 degrees today, lots of overflow and crisp mtn biking in the park.
  17. If anyone gets email like this please PM the admins with as much header information as you can glean from the emails.
