  1. At work a blonde coworker was having trouble entering her password without making mistakes. I offered to help and watched her type a crazy long string of letters as the password. Of course she made mistakes, backspaced, tried again, and it kept failing. Finally I asked what she was doing using as her password? So she typed out: "BashfulDocDopeyGrumpyHappySleepySneezyForrestGumpTallahassee" Almost hating to hear her reply, I asked why she chose that password? She said someone told her the rule is "7 characters, a special character and a capital".
  2. Joey, those dials you make are spectacular. Gorgeous stuff!
  3. What you have painfully experienced firsthand now is, that no matter how good something looks, what it is made of deep inside is what matters. My advice is to raid your wife's jewelry box and "borrow" her Mikimoto pearls. Measure them and find the one that most closely matches the diameter of the lost pearl. The rest is up to your imagination. Once the string is cut, the value drops exponentially.
  4. Gentlemen, a new member registered today as "elwayne" and sent many phishing messages with apparent links to topics here with offers to buy watches. Following his links they go to 66ghz.com and gather username/password combinations. Some people use the same password everywhere. If you went to his link and provided credentials I STRONGLY SUGGEST you login everywhere you do financial dealings, RIGHT NOW, and change your passwords. It just has the stink of a very clever scam all over it. Be careful, people.
  5. Beautiful! Let me know next time you come through, we can meet at the Millenium for a couple tall frosty ones.
  6. Sorry, I had to do it. FAT RULES!!!
  7. Lovely Fortis Seafoam.... that sure looks familiar!
  8. Nice photos Tiyal, you should've let me know you were in town, beers are on me!
  9. We've got a deep bench here, that's for sure. What's not so obvious is that we also have plenty of members with more money than God. It's just that here on good old RWG, we don't measure people by the size of their wallet. Character counts.
  10. I know a bunch in Seattle but they're all the old school apprenticed watchsmiths that work on only gens.
  11. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
  12. I'd grab it and get the damage laser welded, then reshape and have a hydro knife cut new knurls in the welding.
  13. If the overall look of the watch is "shiny" then get the polished one. My orange monster doesn't have a lot of brushed surfaces so that was the choice.
  14. I learned my lesson the hard way.... it's a pain to get honey and whipped cream out of the bezel assembly.
  15. I had a rep crown that looked good until I saw a gen... the knurls on the rep were too fine. A gen is really chunky so you can grab it with gloves on. Check the tooth counts.
  16. You can't beat the look of a mesh on a Seiko diver.
