  1. Roger, a teeny tiny little corner of it.
  2. I'll see you and raise you one...
  3. "snacks" is a common misspelling for "punishment".
  4. Black bears are absolutely delicious. Especially spring bears that aren't into the salmon yet. Like the finest beef. And on the plus side, .375" isn't a very big hole to work around.
  5. Spectacular!
  6. I had a nice quiet day at home and this afternoon things were winding down, and a big ole bear showed up and started tearing my garbage can off the side of my house. I had straps over the top and he still got it open and took a bag of trash out over the side of the mountain. Fricken bears So my dogs started going apesh!t and I ran out there and caught him making a mess. He was headed down over the side and I shouted him down and threw a big old rock at him and the stinker turned around and came back, drooling and huffing at me. He was maybe 25' away. Fricken bears So I threw another rock and banged it off his chest and he was drooling and started to "cowboy" me with his elbows out looking all bad and big. I put my hands up to get bigger than him and RAHRRRRed at him and he turned around, then I chucked a couple more rocks to hurry him along his way. Fricken bears I swept up and picked up the mess he made and put the garbage can inside my garage for the summer. Now it stinks and they've been up on my deck twice looking for food in the sliding door. Fricken bears Now I've got the shotgun out and some bear spray canisters. I sure hope I don't have to shoot one of those meatheads off my deck. Fricken bears.
  7. "So, I'm doing what my father may have done nowadays and build the damn thing myself. Piece by piece." I have no words to describe how that resonates with me. My daughter has scars, and permagrease under her fingernails from doing that with me. Boy are you in the right place. That Daytona IS going to happen. And this is where you'll find the knowledge and parts to do it. RIP to your pops, he sounds like a hell of a guy.
  8. Nearly midnight in Alaska, now that we're in the throes of summer the Sun is up very late.
  9. Wowwwwwww what an amazing result! That's one to be very very proud of. It's funny, but my whole collection is gen vintages and since I did the Gonzo it's the only one that gets any wrist time. There's just something about a Big Crown, and you knocked this one outta the park! Well done.
  10. This one was thrashed within an inch of its life and it took nearly 20 years to put it back to almost-as-delivered condition. No amount of searching is going to reveal a NOS red triangle insert so this is as far as she goes.
  11. Rats! After seeing the *gorgeous* shape you accomplished on that Big Crown build I was going to see if you could coax more "canoe" out of my "rowboat". Ah well... at some point Monet had to lay down his brushes too.
  12. Unfortunately you're on vacation, eh? I've been there... vacationing and knowing there's that box waiting for you at home. Hurry up and get over, stinking vacation!!
  13. That's an incredibly nice result! Dang.... my Big Gonzo pales in comparison. I've got to see more photos of that case. Be sure to post some up when it arrives. The droop and gorgeous inverted canoe shape is spectacular.
  14. Thank you for your service.
  15. Pfffffft. It's not about that, it's about simply enjoying watches.
  16. Mine is pretty simple, it left the factory exactly like that, but blacker on the dial.
  17. No worries my friend! I will admit my ignorance to the world here, I didn't know gen crystals were made up of layers. And that explains the layers I see in my gen t-17! Keep up the good work.
  18. And another, the original: http://www.rwg.cc/topic/2261-tropic-39s-comparison
