  1. Roger that ... unless he's trying to drive the prices up? I could sure use one for the Big Gonzo build. Tell ya what, I'll trade Ken's entire watch collection for a good usable Yuki 7206. Any takers?
  2. Yeah .... Sheldon Cooper comes in lipstick too.
  3. GenTLe, perhaps that term "girl" is best described this way:
  4. Yeah that's okay, we won't hold it against you. Welcome aboard, you'll have a blast. Hey while we're on the subject, would you mind heading out to Batsto Preserve and looking for my backpack? I hiked the river trail a few miles back into the piney barrens and it got dark, and I swear the Jersey Devil jumped out with his red fricken eyes and scared the hell out of me. I'm not ashamed to admit I might have (cough) screamed like a little girl and left my backpack where it fell. It may have been a frog. I'm not taking any chances.
  5. Sleep? "Sleep"??? We sleep when we die. LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alaska waits
  6. Girln2watches, you have to understand that most of the guys / members here (hey in this case the terms are synonymous) have never kissed a girl, have wrists as thick as a milk straw and wear plaid. Think of Sheldon Cooper on Big Bang Theory and you won't be far off. Okay, okay ... the "plaid" comment was a bit much. They're trying desperately to not look like leering troglodytes by flocking to your very well worded question, and posting what will certainly be misconstrued as "the hots". They're a great bunch, and possess VAST knowledge about watches, from the arcane to the superficial. Any one of these boys could write an encyclopedia. So just be patient. They're not used to having a female actually talk to them, and doubtless are checking Wikis to see what appropriate responses might be. Give them time, smile a lot, think about bringing in donuts and leaving a 6-pack lying around .... before long you'll get some (semi) coherent replies. Now c'mon boys..... she wants to play nice. And Girln2watches, welcome aboard!
  7. Hey DP, that ain't gonna get you a free ticket to her boat. That's not how we roll here in Alaska. Show up with a 6-pack of Alaskan Amber...... now your chances are looking good.
  8. After Solstice now, the Long Dark is slowly returning again.
  9. Sorry hauspro, I haven't been to VDZ in years! But if I do I'll be sporting a gnarly gilt Big Crown and a big smile. Can't miss me!
  10. If they're the same as the ones Minh Quy is selling, you're in for a huge disappointment. It took me hours of work to make mine even usable.
  11. Thanks, cc33! We had a nice long weekend away together, even tho today is the actual day, She's a keeper for sure ... must be, to put up with me!
  12. Today is our 30th anniversary so here's a picture of our pair. Mine is only 56 years old, hers is 72 this year.
  13. Dang.... if only I had clicked "buy" 2 seconds before you did! What a jaw dropping beauty.
  14. Thanks mate. I don't wear it much anymore, trying to prolong the life of that old 1030, but every time I do I'm struck by just how perfect the dimensions and fit and size and...everything are, on the old girl. Like starlets of old, the older it gets, the better it is.
  15. Yeah don't be too sure... I said the exact same words almost 18 years ago and now look, they keep me in a cage in the basement and throw me a bone once in awhile...
  16. I guess this means the Big Gonzo will be my last build ever. All hail the Big D!
  17. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh baby........ my ears are purring.
  18. An analog watch is also a compass when you're out in the bush.
  19. Sorry for the repeat photo guys, I've gone clear through my collection, except for the Big Gonzo, which is currenly at a spa getting a facelift.
  20. Thanks doc, even though she's 56 years old this year, she can still turn the boys' heads.
  21. Here's the Small Crown enjoying a long midsummer eve.
  22. Nice! That's a good looking snake. What kind is it? Mcotter, I live outside Anchorage way up in the mountains. We do have an occasional coyote but mostly it's wolves. There's a pack that lives up here and I almost lost my dog to them last Fall on a hike about 1/4 mile from my front door.
  23. Hi GenTLe, I've never seen a setting in the software that lets it send a "message read" update. But if you go to your list of messages, it should show that it's been read.
