  1. Nice!!! Let's go for a XC ski! Here's one evening's snow here, 30" and still coming down (those are 2x6 boards I made that railing from) Merrrrrrrry White Christmas!
  2. Everyone's welcome, let me know and I'll throw a moose on the grill. Come hungry!
  3. Sounds perfect for a mtn bike ride. My inner tubes start to come apart at -40 though so it's usually an iffy proposition. Here's from yesterday morning.
  4. For sale right now on eBay, an ultra rare Rolex 6200! And it's reasonably priced at only $175,000! Check out the specs: 18 jewel movement (needs serviced) Coun edge Bezel (replaced) Dial (redone) Mercedes Hands (replaced) Original Band (broken) Step right up folks, it's a steal! Here's the link for the serious investor: http://bit.ly/1dHM8zy
  5. Montrail Verglas for me, they're light, warm, ultra rigid and bombproof.
  6. Lobbens are they way to go for dry snow conditions. http://www.piasweaters.com/product-p/lb-trd-t.htm

  8. How about tapping the Yellowstone caldera? It's 55 by 22 miles of magma, just beneath the surface. If a nuclear reactor can superheat steam to make electricity, so can 185 billion cubic miles of magma. Although I dispute that number.
  9. Haaaaaaah!! One of the cleverest things I've read here in years. I suppose if that's the measure of a watch's binary existence (instead of running vs dead) then yeah! Hmmmm. Schrödinger's watch?
  10. I found this the other day. This equation represents mathematically what we call the standard model of particle physics. The top line describes the forces: electricity, magnetism and the strong and weak nuclear forces. The second line describes how these forces act on the fundamental particles of matter, namely the quarks and leptons. The third line describes how these particles obtain their masses from the Higgs boson, and the fourth line enables the Higgs boson to do the job. The Einstein field equations in Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity describe the fundamental interaction of gravitation as a result of spacetime being curved by matter and energy. Maxwell's equations are a set of partial differential equations that form the foundation of classical electrodynamics, classical optics, and electric circuits. General form of Schrodinger's equation, the basis of quantum mechanics. The Schrödinger equation describes how the quantum state of a physical system changes with time.
  11. Geothermal, baby. Here in Alaska we're surrounded by active volcanoes and there's unlimited thermal energy straight down. It's simple, cheap, and an earthquake (that goes hand in hand with being on the Ring of Fire) is not devastating.
  12. Weirdness here too, when I try to post anything from the mobile I get an error about a security key not matching.
  13. The world's most beautiful crown guards. ..............what's left of them.....................
  14. Sweeeeeet! I'll step out on my deck and wave... you ought to be able to see me right? I mean it's only 8 or 9 hours driving distance.... People have NO idea how big this place is.
  15. Yep he's just on the other side of the mountain from me. Of course the mountain is a long way off ... that's about 5 hours from my house if you're in a hurry.
  16. Welcome aboard! Sure wish we had some of your cold, it's been freezing rain here and people are about to go crazy. It's supposed to drop to 14 tonight.... about time! Let's have some WINTER!
  17. Who's next..... Neo? JonTheBhoy? The mind boggles!
  18. Here's a link showing the results FXRandy got when he did his. You'll have to search deeper to find his actual process. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/153831-anyone-modded-a-rep-crown/?p=1181013 AFAIK the MBW crown is the only one this works on, as its walls are much thicker than a gen 703. So when you grind a bevel there's still metal there. Someone also went to the effort of shortening a 703 tube to let the thinned crown screw down closer to the case. That takes some major cojones.
  19. Iso!! Welcome back!! So what happened to the original username, need help resetting the password? Man it's like old times around here with all the familiar faces popping in.
  20. With the Cartel case you'll want to thin down the crown to make it look better with the short CGs. Try for the 702 look. If you can find one, the old MBW triplock crown is "thick" enough that you can mill off the inner edge to form a bevel, and that looks really nice plus you have a tube already.
  21. Hey Mic!! Long time no see, welcome back!! The Canuck that sold you the Sea Dweller... was it RepAustria? Believe it or not his über-dweller has been sold and resold here at least 3 more times. I can help with resetting passwords and stuff, just PM me. Sadly, we haven't seen Fendi or Ryannon or any of them for ages. Dems dropped in a few times, now gone too. If you've got back channels, send them over! Cheers! Or how did I used to say it? "Una inuuq aaniqtuuq!"
