I buy old Revos, Julbos and Vuarnets, with the true glass lenses, on fleabay for $25 to $75 a pair. It's worth it to me.

That's a good point Fraggle. We're not going to bust someone's chops for striking through their text. We're all grown-ups here and recognize the intent of the rule: to preserve the sale details for later review, for whatever reason. The struck out text is still readable and that's good enough. Nobody's going to get spanked over that (unless Victoria comes back).

That was ultimately my decision; in the end the complete set installed quickly, looked fine, and worked as expected. The guy I got it for was pleased as punch and it was very reasonably priced too. If it was for my personal watch I might have gone for gen parts, knowing the potential frustration involved. Having just come off an 18 month build..... yeah the aftermarket kit looks pretty good.

A friend of mine with an old 1675 lost his bezel, it wore and got too loose, and popped off. He refused to pay any kind of big money for genuine parts, so I ordered just the bezel/insert from CWP. It looked pretty good, but would not stay on his gen ring, it was too loose. I wound up ordering the set (ring/bezel/spring/insert) and it went together just fine. I think at the time we decided there are different sizes for delivered gen parts, and they don't necessarily go together. 'Course this was years and many sips of akkevit ago.........

Good luck buddy, every time I take the stem out of my watch and (attempt to) reinsert it, I pooch the keyless works. Every . Fricken . Time If it can't be done with a hammer and axe, I don't attempt it.

We held a garage sale and ponied up the funds to replace his long-missing Left Nut. We figured it would be better with live music, and when someone mentioned a band, Ken naturally thought we meant banned and brought it along.

VRM has them once in awhile but they're awfully rare. Consider a domed t19 instead, it fit on my Minh Quy case, where a t17 is supposed to go. I have a REALLY ugly one that is probably unable to be saved, it will take 1/4mm ground off the inside just as a starting point. Let me know if you're interested in having a go at it?

I did a Google search and there are lots with the large arrow GMT hand, likely replaced at service.<br /><br />As to whether "all" PCGs left the factory with small arrows... that I can't say. I bet somebody here does though.

Congratulations!<br /><br />Flip side of the coin, mine IS gen and it leaks like a sieve. Where the crystal fits over the rehaut about the 4:30 position there's a huge stream of bubbles in the tester. This is because I went with an old, probably brittle, but genuine Superdome T39 crystal and it won't seal to the case anymore.<br /><br />All's the better though, now I'm not tempted to let it get wet. If you're using a vintage crystal that might be your trouble too.<br />

Thanks mate! I told the story here a few years ago, here it is: The coolest of the 300s was called the Black Lung. There were only a handful made, so they're rare as an honest politician. I did a LOT of looking and got banned from the Doxa site in the process (a long story) but eventually found one. I mentioned it to my diver friend and it turns out when he helped start SeaLab he was also doing some R&D for Doxa and they gave him one as a thank-you. He tried to find it so he could give it to me (more generosity) and discovered it had been lost somewhere in all his moves. Now this is cool: he lived in Chicago for awhile. And a Black Lung was just sold on Ebay, it was discovered in a box of old watches in Chicago by the son of some junk collector that rooted around and found all these old watches. So I wrote the guy that won it, and told him the story; who knows if it's the same piece? But what a story. Here's a better picture of the Aqualung logo:
