  1. Aloha peeps, the Northern Bear is in Hawaii for a couple weeks. If I can drag myself away from the charms of Ms Nanuq long enough I might remember to post up some photos. Here's the Daz Special saying hello over the Pacific.
  2. Yep life is found in the great outdoors. I don't want to look back some day and wish I'd found more of it. I figure if I fall asleep each night utterly exhausted with a new memory, then I've traded that day for something worthwhile. Seize The Day.
  3. No dog snatching sorry! A little snow cave camping, yes!
  4. Here's the thread where we talked about it. You can also ask Nick1972, he builds amazing Tudors and knows the source for the best aftermarket hands. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/127876-trying-to-figure-out-a-tudor-9411-build/page-2
  5. One of my friends sent me this ... "What if Jesus was on Twitter?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-hW680pCLs&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  6. Get some alum at the store, and make a strong solution. Boil that crown in the solution and the little broken piece of stem will dissolve. Pick out the residue with a needle and you're ready to try again.
  7. I've posted here several times about the specific lengths of the hands and how they should "fit" with the dial indices. Make sure those dimensions are correct, then avoid the "long nose" look of the Yuki hour hand and make sure the minutes hand is not overly long (like Yuki) and nice and narrow, again unlike Yuki.
  8. As she's a lady of a certain age, and ladies never tell, you'll just have to wonder.
  9. Dammit, you and Ubi both beat me by a day. Hey I was busy that Weds!
  10. Nice. I hope my black-sheep CR diameter is the same as yours!
  11. Thanks for the photos. Is it the angle or does the minutes hand extend past the chapter ring? That's what bugs me about my DG hands... the minutes is too short. I'd like to get it right to the CR.
  12. Greets gents, I'm resurrecting an old thread for a reason...... I've recently had my 6538 to the Spa and Ziggy traded out the dead DG movement for a Miyota. The hands swapped right over. Now I'd like to upgrade to a better gilt hands set, with a nice long thin minutes hand. Who has the best hands? Your opinions please? Thank you in advance.
  13. Cards? Aren't those the things you stick in your bicycle spokes? Vroom vroom!
  14. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice collection. We haven't seen one of these threads in a long time. Last time we tried this, someone foolishly made the mistake of asking Lanikai to post photos of his entire collection. Everything was moving along nicely until the photos got to the 11th page and the servers caught fire.
  15. Oh baby .... now you're messing with my head!
  16. AW that's a great moonlit picture. Very nice. In your pictures I can tell what time of year you took them... just like Alaska, everything goes blue in the winter. Then in spring the red comes back. Check this out, photo taken from the same place, 6 months apart.
  17. Thanks gents! I know it pales in comparison to the other more robust builds here, but I sure like it. Hawaii here we come!
  18. Welcome back! Long time no see. It's a whole different animal around RWG these days... we need some of the old blood back.
  19. No problem. Having the email address turned out to be the smoking gun, because that's not the one he used to register.
  20. Yes, and remarkably enough, he's back again under another name. Which I banned this morning.
  21. Precisely. Exactly right. I just wish the OP was a little more forthcoming with details ... it took this long to get confirmation about the email address? The guy could have skimmed off half a dozen nice pieces in that time. Gentlemen, I appreciate your alerts when a scammer pops up. But we admin/mod folks need all the details right away, to be effective. Innuendo and hearsay and "he said / she said" and references to other sites don't help much. Well done, all.
  22. 997S, thanks for your confirmation that the email address he personally asked you to use matches the "yonotan" gmail address. I've gone back and forth with this for several weeks, actually having confirmation that this member Warehouse77 completed two high value watch purchases and both went through smoothly. But there are other specifics about him that add up to convince me he's a scammer. Banned.
  23. Sure thing!! ..........as long as he goes first.
