Another aspect not mentioned yet.... I'm here in Hawaii wearing my Big Dazza 6538 and spending all day in the water with it. I know these really are dive watches but nobody in their right mind would take a gen swimming anymore. Now I get to see how a vintage Sub looks and feels underwater.

Da Big Daz and Da Big Guy

Roger that, I just talked with him and he's getting up at 12:00AM for tomorrow. It's going to be a big day, and very long, and he's putting everything he's got into it.

My pleasure! I was going to write it in suntan lotion on the belly of a gorgeous young thing tanning on Waikiki beach, but her boyfriend was giving me stinkeye. You get Banzai Pipeline instead!

I had a delicious 3 hour breakfast with Lani this morning and it was humbling and inspiring. He's much more than a gentleman, kind, generous and humble. I felt I was in the presence of a giant among men. He's doing well, VERY busy with a grand new adventure, and I'll be seeing him again in a couple days. Can't wait for it! Aloha nui loa, ma brutha.

I had breakfast with ma brutha Lani this morning and we talked about the waves, he said here they measure the back side of the waves, not the front. So a "25 foot" wave will have a face of 50' or more. That's what I was watching, behemoth monsters crashing into the rocks, and humpback whales breaching offshore a mile or so. It was awe inspiring.

Hey now, if it was "Joe" or "Sam" that would be one thing. "Zeleni Fricken Kukuruz"?? Nobody has a bladder that big.

YEAH BABYYYYYY!!!!!! Awesome!! Yeah that's how we roll here on Da Island bra!! But a small crisis, I bashed Da Big Daz on a rock and it got saltwater in, so I used ma mighty thumbs and twisted the back off and sucked out the saltwater, now it's open and drying on the balcony. It's still running so maybe we dodged a bullet here? Never fear, Da Mighty Frosty Flake is getting dive time now while Da Big Daz dries out. Fingers crossed!

I've got a Big Daz 6538 here in Hawaii, fresh back from Ziggy's spa. The crystal was glued in when I first got it, so Ziggy couldn't improve that. He added an Athaya crown and tube, and greased up the seals. For two days I've been underwater for hours at a time bashing it against rock and coral and it hasn't leaked a drop. I haven't gone below 100' yet but so far no worries. A simple Oyster case well set up is a stout piece of hardware.

Late news, I heard from Lani, looks like Thursday we meet up. The man is a legend and an absolute gentleman. Can't wait! Will I see his AMAZING collection of watches? Doubt it... at one per minute I'd be there 5 hours to just see his "favorites" group. I think instead it will just be some quality ohana time with ma brudda.

Wetsuit! Pffffft that's for pansies and Aussies! Wait....

Waikiki baby!! Spent the day on and under the water, got lots of sun, and cut the hell out of myself on coral. Lots of surf activity today. It's big at the North Shore today so heading up there tomorrow. I can happily report the Big Daz 6538 is apparently indestructible and plenty watertight.<br /><br />

I've been trying to contact Lani 2 months! Hey Ubi see if you can shake him out eh??
