Lord have mercy, did you say a TROPIC 38?
I just died and went to heaven. I have a 1675 tropical gilt that's languishing for want of a 38.
Please please please please please
Oh man, that's a beauty. Absolutely gorgeous. Your insert and pearl are exactly the same color as my 6536, slate with a hint of blue.
Consider a silver seconds hand for it. That works well with the silver/gilt depth rating and really looks nice.
And is that an exclamation point dial I see?
Who else besides me is now convinced cc33 is in fact James Dowling? Or Mike Wood.........
That's one fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine 5508 my friend. What year is it? If prior to 1960 then the Brevet crown is okay. Otherwise you need to send it to me and I'll send you a nice Twinlock.
Yep that happened to me. I volunteered to fix the 1675 of a revered gentleman here in our Scouting community and the bezel I bought (with insert) did not fit his ring. It refused to stay on. I was very embarrassed and said I'd be back in a week. So I ordered the entire bezel/ring/insert kit and that worked great.
Automatico, I can guarantee that has happened over there.
A few years ago I had a long PM exchange with a long time member of RWG and VRF. He pretty much flew beneath the covers. There was a sudden flurry of unobtainable crystals coming out of VRF and I asked him whazzup?
He said he knew for a fact the guy had found a long roll of vintage crystals, individually wrapped. He had been putting these vintages in old Rolex wax paper envelopes and selling them for silly money to guys on TZ and VRF.
It must be a violation of forum policy to post those pictures without adequate advance warning. Let me look............
Whoops, not a banning offense. But just to be safe, CC33 can send it to me and alleviate all concerns.
The men of the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) watch over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
24 hours per day, 365 days per year, for over 64 years these good men have been maintaining vigil. Here's a photo from a couple years ago.
Good lord, WM - what do you mean much of the Jersey Shore is gone? I've been there on business trips a few times, and walked the long boardwalks in Atlantic City, the lighthouse at Barregut (or how ever it's spelt). Were those places hammered, or uprooted, or.....??
Sounds gnarly. Where's my kite?
