  1. My dear departed Mormor loved Viking sewing machines, claiming she could sew stainless steel roofing together with hers. It was a grey day in June when she actually tried this one year. She was doing alright, pumping the treadle like the hounds of hell were after her, she was well down one long run, making new roofing for my igloo when the unspeakable happened: the needle hit a hard spot and the whole works went sideways, catching her thumb in the machine and stitching right across the nail. She shrieked, stood up with the Viking hanging from her bloodied thumbnail, and let loose with a string of Norsk expletives to turn your hair blue. Remarkably, the exact shade of blue In the OP's lume shot. How's that for bringing this back on topic?
  2. That's the wokkiest TZ Tudor I believe I've ever seen.
  3. Ah you've mistaken my meaning. Imagine a Viking soused up on akevitt running into the woods with a battle axe flailing it about wildly. AAAAAAAIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! DIE!!!!!!!!!!! More like that.
  4. You could teach her to use your espresso maker...
  5. The 8:00 lume dot is too white and there's a big gap in the "equals sign" in the depth rating. Plus the case is way too square... looks like an early MBW case. It's as real as the "Puddy Tat" sitting on the shelf behind it. I've heard it hangs out in gay bars. Just sayin'
  6. See, the "kneeling over her" part is where it all went wrong. One raised knee on her part and it's "lights out Gracie". Owwwwww
  7. Proof, visual proof of what I saw. I still wake up screaming.
  8. Holy smokes!! I was at me best mate's house sampling single malt scotches over the weekend and stumbling home through the deep and dark Alaskan woods in the wee hours I heard a fearsome sound! Looking around with my heart pounding in my ears, I spied a sinister BLUE GLOW off in the trees, blinking behind wolfish eyelids!! It looked EXACTLY like your lume shot! AAAAaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
  9. Thanks for doing all that research! Next time you're in town I owe you a tall frothy ale at the Firetap.
  10. Thank you gents! Now I need to find the appropriate small-arrow GMT hand and I can call this beauty "finished."
  11. Good advice, I think the AD quoted him $300 for the gen bezel, and that's about what J&W quoted for aftermarket!
  12. Thanks! I'm looking forward to a review.
  13. Thanks I'll go have a look. JewelryandWatch has a complete set for $350 ... too high in my book. CWP has one for $69 and it won't click on right, diameter is wrong. Any other ideas?
  14. Thanks... I didn't want By-Tor to lose any more sleep over it.....
  15. This thing is incredibly hard to photograph! How about this?
  16. Well, let's put it this way..... it was me or the bear. I imagine if I follow that bugger around long enough I'll get it back. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Seriously, it's for a friend of mine. He's got an old GMT and it wore out enough that his bezel fell off and got lost. I tried ordering one from CWP but its inner diameter was slightly too big so it wouldn't click on securely. Are there two NOS diameters out there? Didn't think so. Any other leads?
  17. Hello gents, I'm looking for a bezel and pepsi insert for a friend of mine and his gen 1675. Anyone have one to sell? Thanks!
  18. Thanks! I gave the bracelet to a guy here... I think I'll start looking for another 7836 for this one.
  19. Thank you sir! It's incredibly hard to capture the chocolate brown, I'll try again if I can get a good strong sun beam.
  20. Finally, the swap is done! Presented for your enjoyment, my new tropical gilt dial.
  21. Following Freddy's lead, here's an old photo of my 6536 taken just after midnight, with ambient light and no photoshop. Can't beat the long days of summer in Alaska.
  22. Something old, something new, something tropical.......
