Hey, it was a start even if only 2 people showed up. I had seen the threads but i knew a month ago that I had plans for yesterday so I didn't make any noises about trying to come. Next time you try and set one up I hope to be available to come.
Not sure how to react to this - I'd like to know what the motivation behind this was...and why it's limited to 50 apparently.
Found on Ebay, currently going for $6500ish
That is an amazing piece, you've gone exactly where I plan to go when i pick up a 3717 - down to the german datewheel. That strap is also a great touch - really shows the versatility of this piece, put that strap on and you've got your rugged utilitarian pilot's watch. Put a gator strap on and you're ready to swap into a suit and head to the boardroom.
Yeah, Anniversary gift from last year I just can't help put post pics of it whenever i get a chance, in fact I need to shoot some new pictures, these are getting old!
Good luck getting your friend to give up his TF! My local Costco actually still has one for sale for a very reasonable price....
Great pics all - don't have a 3717 yet but I think this watch should ONLY have a strap - the bracelet just doesn't seem to do it justice - at least in pictures.
Rob, I will definitely miss your posts and hope that you don't stay away for too long. I am very glad to see that you will still be accepting appointments as i have 3 or 4 vintage watches that need a lot of love.
Cheers,
-Joe
Yeah, that's similar to what i'm looking for. Does that have a display caseback? Looks like a deal for $600 with the box and 2 straps. Where did you get that, online?
I think Steinhart makes one, my understanding is that Touby may have one coming out soon, who else? I don't care about brand, as long as it is a decently made piece. Actually I may prefer that the dial has no branding at all.
