http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,296505,00.html DEVELOPING STORY: Russian news agencies cite the Kremlin as saying that President Vladimir Putin dissolved the government Wednesday. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov asked the Kremlin to dissolve his government, Russian news agencies reported, with less than three months remaining before parliamentary elections. Fradkov made the decision based on "the approaching major political events in the country and a desire to give the president full freedom in making decisions, including personnel," Fradkov was quoted by ITAR-Tass as saying. A Kremlin spokesman could not immediately comment on the report. Not sure how to feel about this....but my gut feeling is not good.

I really want two watches right now, a 177 or 111 and an IWC 3717. The IWC will have to wait a bit as i am DONE with the A7750 movement and I don't feel like laying out the cast for the watch + gen 7750 right now so my next purchase will more likely be one of the PAMs.

I saw this but didn't notice the Sea Gull. I'll have to look more closely at it when i get home.

It may seem like a lot of money for a 'rep' but let me tell you, the quality on the Kelly bags from Ken is AMAZING. My wife has gen coach bags, and the rep kelly bags are made just as well if not BETTER. For the price you are paying you are getting high quality leather and top notch construction. I believe the cost is in line with what it actually costs to produce a genuine Hermes bag - they just mark it up for the name. My wife has had both her Birken and her Kelly bag in Hermes and the salespeople both times could not tell it was a rep, even after handling the Kelly bag extensively to clean it for her. (it wasn't even dirty - i guess this is the level of service you get when you spend $5k US on a bag, they just volunteer to clean your bag) And you cannot go wrong with Ken, a better dealer on this forum you would be hard pressed to find.

Gotta love how the Italians still use shims to adjust the valves in all their engines.

yeah, my dad had an 84 944 and while easier to work on than an ass engine 911, the parts were ridiculously expensive. I have a friend who is close friends with a rather eccentric millionaire. A few years ago he bought a brand new Ferrari 360 - base with no options so to speak of. He promptly called my friend and informed him that he would learn to change the oil on the car because he would be damned if he was going to pay Ferrari $400 for the oil changes. After some research, my friend learned that the entire bottom of the car has to come off in order to even access the engine to change the oil, and the oil required to meet Ferrari's warranty requirements is a special blend Shell helix forumla that goes for $22 a liter - and the car requires some 15 or 20 litres of oil because of the dry sump oiling system. Now i know why you always see Ferraris for sale with 15k miles - that's when the first service is due and the owners find out what the real cost of Ferrari ownership is.

Lets see. I have quite a few interests but I'll list my primary passions: Cars. All cars. I have to keep up to date on anything new and how it stacks up to the competition. Subset to cars - racing. Formula 1, WRC, ALMS are my favorites, but I have been known to watch a stock car race everynow and then Subset to racing - track. I try to get out on track 2 to 3 times a year in my RX7 - I've even roped my wife into doing it with me in her RX8 Movies - Old, new, and anything in between I love to watch movies. Books - I've been slacking lately but I usually have 2 or 3 books being read at any given time Music - I listen to a lot of music - mostly classic rock and classical, and I also play the piano. Computers/IT - I work in IT so it's a good thing I like it. I like to try and keep up to date on computer technology as well as the latest software that is out there that may pertain to my job. Dogs - i have 4 dogs, 3 mutts and one very precocious Jack Russell Terrier. I can't imagine life without all the entertainment and love I get out of them and their individual personalities. My wife - don't need much of an explanation there. Coming up on our 10th anniversary. And last but certainly not least - Watches!

Don't worry about the clutch, but you will have to budget for the $2500 15K services.

My family has no problems. My wife has actually gotten me my two gens as anniversary gifts, and she has 2 reps of her own. The rolls her eyes a little when i talk about getting a new rep or gen, but she doesn't really mind. I got my dad a rep 5517 Sub and he LOVES LOVES LOVES it. Also got my brother a rep quartz Link Chrono which he loves too.

you post a pic of your rep but not your gen Tag?

Very true - I failed to think about that when I posted the pic - and I haven't been around much lately so I didn't see the 'what do you carry daily' thread until AFTER i had posted. Otherwise I may have just posted the pic in there instead.

Finishing out the week with my Chopard GTXL on gator strap

cool stuff.
-
wow...this thread went in a completely different direction than I had intended.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I really like the pocket watches - once I get them serviced I may actually start carrying one around Corgi you make a good point about the square watch - the movement looks really interesting. I was focusing on the round watch because my wife expressed more of an interest in that one for wearing.
-
Oh good...for a while there I thought I was going to be the only one with a gun! Great pics guys. I'm really finding myself wanting an AR lately - maybe so I can have flashbacks of the Corps and do rifle drill in my living room

I'm sure none of these are worth a whole lot, but they interest me and they were free My step-father manages a condo building with older residents. Well sometimes they pass on and the family leaves behind boxes and boxes of stuff to go to the garbage. Well, knowing my interest in watches he snagged these for me. Two pocket watches - one labled "Bulls Eye" by Westclox and the other is labeled a Westclox "Pocket Ben" Both work when wound, but the Bull's Eye seems to run more reliably. It's about 5 minutes fast a day right now. Bull's Eye on the left, Pocket Ben on the right The lady's watches are really stunning. The square watch has an 18k gold case labeled "Star Watch Case Co. USA" and what I think is Mother of pearl inlay on the dial. The indices appear to be gold as well. Movement is labled "Sorority Watch Co SWISS" with 15 jewels. Movement doesn't wind and doesn't run. Appears VERY dirty. The round lady's watch has no crystal and a very dirty dial. hands have a pretty blue hue in the right light. MIB initials engraved on the case back. Inside the caseback is printed "S.W.C.CO. Gold filled 20 Years" 10 1/2 Ligne and a serial number. No karat gold listed, but the inside of the case is very shiny. Movement is labeled "SADA Watch Co Swiss J 15 Jewels 2 ADJ" This movement does not wind and does not run. Anyway, hope you all enjoy the pics. If The Zigmeister doesn't stroll by this thread, I'm going to email him the pics of the movements and inquire about having him service them, my wife is quite keen to wear the round ladies watch once it is cleaned up and running.
