Yet another subject for me to ponder as well, as i just sent payment for my Ferrari Chrono to sash yesterday. I think a carbon strap with yellow stitching would look good.
I would reply to the dealer and inquire about labling the watch as "broken wristwatch, for repair and return" as opposed to 'sample watch'. The latter to me just screams fake to customs.
On the other hand, just by the nature of the fact that you'd be sending the watch to a foreign country may be enough for them to take a closer look. I only have experience sending a watch to The Zigmeister up in Canada, so I guess my experience doesn't really cover your problem.
Good luck.
It limits me a bit on the dealers I can use, but i've stopped using WU because of the fees, and also the fact that my bank will not allow me to use them online because of possible credit card fraud issues.
as an update since someone asked, we've hit an issue with my moneybooker's payment and he is working to get it sorted out, so no watch yet, but I've learned paitence in the rep game so I'm not concerned given Silix's reputation here.
What the hell is going on here? i fly home from San Fran and the dealer and member trade sections are gone? I've bought half my reps from other members on the forum! What is the reasoning behind this?
No offense intended, but that's a pretty bold statement - especially the 'otherwise' part. I can think of a few street engines alone that eclipse it, and lets not start talking about dedicated racing engines.
I used to think it was rather ugly myself, but the more i see it, the more it grows on me. That said, the current price is still more than i'm willing to pay, even for a rep that i MUST have.
If the price drops to something a bit more reasonable, I may pick one up.
Thanks guys, I wasn't worried about Silix, i was more worried about any glitches with the automated system I work with computers and know not to always trust them left to their own vices.
