  1. I would hesitate to bring up making counterfeit dials on either of those forums, personally. Most legit dial makers probably wouldn't want to deal with the risks involved in trying to make replicas. Unless you have an "in" with someone at the dial makers, I'd bet it would be a pretty daunting task. DSN's dials are *right there*, just slightly change the 6 and 9 and the dial font a bit. So close, and yet so very far away....
  2. I would have to agree with FGD's list. I would also add the 6154 CG-less case and possibly the new 036 dial, it appears to be using a less purple-y brown color.
  3. Oooooooooh, nice! Me = can't wait!
  4. You can get non-AR sapphires from DSN, if you didn't know. I have one in my hands right now. Hmmmm, perhaps I need to get one of these cases.......
  5. Fishy, does that mean you've got an inside line on something? Or, was that more a comment on your faith in DSN to get anything decent sorted?
  6. Nope. The later B series used a Luminova sausage dial. A and early B series used a tritium sausage dial that had "T Swiss T" printed below the 6 with no dashes. The Pre-A series used engraved dials like the one shown by the OP with "T-Swiss-T" printed below the 6. Pre-V watches used the same engraved dials, but with no printing below the 6 at all. The watch shown by the OP is a replica of the Pre-A series (circa 1997) 009, hence no series letter printed before the xxxx/xxxx serial number. So the dial and case back are correct-ish. They need to be modified slightly to be truly accurate.
  7. Ain't that the truth, FGD! Maybe some day DSN will get his Pre-V dial engraving sorted and have some dials made with the T-Swiss-T. Maybe...
  8. Negative, ghostrider. He new email is davidsenjpn@gmail.com His Yahoo! acct is dead, IIRC. Happy, gavidoc?
  9. LOL Let me rephrase: FGD, the 6 and 9 look different than ANY base dial I've ever seen. Modded?
  10. FGD, the 6 and 9 look different from a "standard" rep base dial?
  11. Uh.... I would think contacting Davidsen would be a good start?
  12. The bottom/Pre-V style case would not be very accurate for a 195 or a 009. Here is a picture that might help. The top is a standard rep case, middle is my gen 002D and the bottom is a DSN case:
  13. PAM, I'm 100% that dial is his engraved dial, not a sandwich. Not sure if this is the next "version" or not? Regardless, if the 6 and 9 were fixed on that one, I'd order about 3 dials today. Why, oh why, can't he get it right? He's done the hardest bit already, just needs to tweek the 6/9 shape. I've got a 010D using the dial shown above. It's getting ready for a transplant into a "standard" rep case, already has a Palp crown. It's a keeper!
  14. I thought the gen PVD crowns were the .9mm ID threads for the auto movements?
  15. How can he send you a tracking number if you aren't sure if you want it delivered to you or to beano? I think you're being a bit unrealistic here, as well as a bit misleading with your posts. You make it seem like pamfried has gone completely dark on you, and yet you admit he sent you two emails TODAY. Please settle this in private.
  16. ??????? Have you tried to get someone from the staff to help be a "remediator"?
  17. PAM, I'm 99% sure that the pics posted in the OP are DSN's engraved dial. 6 and 9 are still off, and I won't even get started on the different fonts used for "Luminor" and "Panerai", 'cause it just doesn't make a lick of sense to me. However, I agree, the thickness of the engraving looks good.
  18. I know, Jay. My reply was meant to be a little tongue-in-cheek. To borrow a phrase from Lee Iacocca back when he was running Chrysler "If you can find a better one for cheaper, buy it." Unfortunately the fact that he *is* the only game in town is one of the things that is enabling him to NOT step up his game. I thought that the Pre-A dials used the fat, engraved markings like the Pre-V but had the "T-Swiss-T" below six. Evidently I'm wrong?
  19. I love base dials! I agree, mod the CG lever pin. I would also, flatten and polish the canon pin. Does that crystal have AR? It shouldn't. Lastly a thicker crown of some sort might be nice. I wish T's crown project would hurry!
  20. It's certainly the most accurate out of the box Pre-A 009 rep out there.
  21. I would ask the staff of the site to help me straighten this out, personally. Have you tried that?
  22. 26 or 27mm straps, yep. I've got an antique tan 27mm/26mm Savage on my gen 210. I haven't had this strap off the watch since I got it from Scot months ago. I LOVE it. The straps left to right are: 1. GeF Marmi in Militaire 2. Savage SAV in natural 3. Savage antique tan 4. Mario Paci Private Stock in Cognac
  23. Nope, D series would be a Luminova dial, only the 010A and early 010Bs should have T dials. 010D casebacks are available from Davidsen. V's new crown guard is a Pre-V/current Historic shaped CG. I've got two on the way.
