Haha - nice! You replicated that VRF post almost to the T! Good job with the build, and great attention to detail, both on the watch and on the props.
  2. Whoa! Nice dial! Last one I picked up was $50, but I think that was an exception not a rule...
  3. I've used PBDad and JMB in the past. PB does good work but JMB has always gone above and beyond for me, so he would get my vote.
  4. You'll need JMB to mill you a new retaining ring. Once that is done, you're golden and can replace the crystal with a Clark's.
  5. Nice! Good job on the GMT hand - it's a detail that's wrong 90% if the time but people often neglect to fix it.
  6. Really? Wow!! Who said that happened?
  7. Same. I've been putting it off for a while (like I did the DJ) but really need to add one to the stable...
  8. Huh. Well, color me stupid, I've never had one (rep or gen) that lined up perfectly. I just assumed they never did. I stand corrected.
  9. I think that's the "US Mods" he was talking about. The US dealers did weird stuff - kind of surprised Rolex let them get away with it, but until the '80s it was kind of "anything goes"...
  10. Yeah, I'm the same way. Most of my builds take forever to get started and then they all finish at once! Haha
  11. Man, you've been busy! Good to know I'm not the only one who does rep projects in fits and starts...
  12. Wow, looks good!! Where'd you get the case welding done?
  13. Wait - are they supposed to? I've never had endlinks line up with the end of the lugs...
  14. Doh - that's what I meant... :S Thanks, imajedi.
  15. Oversized crown, oversized CGs, oversized markers, wrong font, etc.
  16. Chs means custom hand stack. Would it not be gen spec?
  17. Yeah, that was posted over at VRF and the guy was like "I'm going to buy these - they're gen, right?"... Wow. If I had that kind of money I would research my purchases a little better than that.
  18. Check out these horrible reps - gas escape valves on chronographs? Damn - what do you need to be timing to that accuracy at depth? https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BwyTyqf3BfrHWHgzYXZZSHN6Mlk&usp=sharing
  19. Nice! Wonder what changed? Yuki's never looked that good... Different supplier?
  20. @DH: Yep - that article is the impetus for this project. Link:http://www.woundforlife.com/2014/05/30/lessons-wristory-transglobe-expedition-rolex/ @jmb: Ah, maybe that was the original problem I ran into without knowing it...
  21. Thanks! Will try to get some better pics... Do the watches justice.
  22. Haha - you guys are both GMT masters compared to the rest of us! Though Freddy does take the cake with his pretty much gen 6542...
  23. @lhooq: Thanks! I can't believe you don't have a GMT! What's the hold up? Haha @JoeyB: Nice compliment from the other GMT master... Thanks! Yeah, that's what PB had used (tape), but it kept falling out. In my early modding naïveté I figured a ton of glue would hold it. It did, but made a mess of the watch in the process. Will send a pic.
