  1. I've personally met and interviewed Aldrin and Armstrong, and they must have been the most convincing liars because they knew a [censored]-ton about how to get someone on the moon and their experiences while on the moon... But I forgot - I posted a clip earlier in this thread by the "director" of the moon landing...
  2. That does look good... Hopefully we'll see more of these in the future. Now let's hope for some other quality repped bracelets - like folded link Jubilees!
  3. I didn't mean the width, but rather the thickness of the links. Some of the rep rivet bands are nearly twice as thick as the gen or Yuki examples. There's a few things I can live with on a vintage piece (super lume or "new" looking dial or hands) but the rivet thickness is one of those things that really bugs me... I would rather put the wrong bracelet reference on than go with the too thick rivets.
  4. Beautiful... Ditto though - what are the specs?
  5. That's if the rivets are the right dimensions... :S
  6. Interesting - are the unsigned rivets the same spec as gen, or are they the thicker links?
  7. Haha - apparently a "real-life" use for a 1655!
  8. Yep - $165. Mysteriously, the spring version is missing from their website now - it was there as late as last week (I check so often it's not even funny...). Apparently the gen 6636 (spring bracelet) does pull hair, but in a "gentle" way? I don't know - that's just what I remember reading either here or over at VRF/TRF...
  9. I'd love for someone to get one and do a review... $280 is a decent amount of change, though. Gen C&Is are like $500. What's his return/refund policy? Also, if it is 7206 it is not correct to have stretch - only 6636 bracelets should stretch. However, I have one of the Yuki stretch 7206s... Probably the worst idea ever - if the watch is heavy at all it wants to stretch the bracelet, leaving the springs open to snag your arm hair and give you a very painful experience... Technically correct, but just an overall stupid idea.
  10. Sneed, I don't think you're really a physicist because I don't see a Milgauss on your arm in that CERN picture! Super cool pic, btw. Seriously though, this thread is so much fun in so many ways... It's like watching the Great Crush Crash or something, although we all know that was fabricated too - there was pretty much no sign of the boilers found in the aftermath, like they'd been pulverized... But... but... steel can't vaporize.... . . . . Oh my gosh our government was planning for 9/11 even as far back as 1896!!
  11. I could see that, but it's not like "I'd have to source one from here - which would be an extra $50..." Also, when they come back in stock they're not anymore expensive; that would be the perfect time to raise prices. I feel like you could probably get a couple Yuki 7206s for his collection. Just saying, if you're going to bargain, at least bargain well! haha
  12. Yeah, and why is he the only one (apparently) who can source them. I wonder if there's another dealer we can try and see if we can't get a bracelet that's made more than 5 at a time...
  13. Beautiful! There's something very understated and elegant about the Omega dress lineup... What's the diameter/thickness on yours? Mine is like 34mm across and 9mm thick...
  14. Thanks! Yeah, honestly it's one of my favorite watches. As cheap as a rep, but with the style of a gen...
  15. I guess it is the summer of the 1016 - mine is going out for a lume - beautiful Whoopy dial and MBK case... Sorry for the blurry pics - my d@mn shaky hands...
  16. +1 - I'm curious as well. What happened to Yuki's stock? They stop making them, or why are they so hard to find?
  17. Ok, got some shots. First, the Omega, dial, case and on the wrist. Wears super thin because of the BOR bracelet that is silky smooth. Also, way-to-go radium! Can still read the dial anytime at night - even out in the woods camping... Next, a few reps for scale:
  18. I'll see if I can get some pics later tonight... They'll be iPhone pics, but when I get back from vacation I'll do a proper shoot...
  19. Try doing a google search of this board for 114270 (That is the model number you want, right? Or do you want the slightly earlier 14270? Did they make that model in 39mm?)
  20. The text won't be that hard... All you would have to do is kind of scratch out the letters with a toothpick, then pick a different paint with a different solvent (ie: if you use enamel and its solvent is thinner then use acrylic or something where its solvent is water). After you've scratched at the letters, wipe the new paint into the letters until it's built up to the consistency that you want and direct it using the solvent (wipe off the excess after you've applied it)... Sounds complicated, but it's not too bad - let me know if the explanation makes sense... As far as enamel paint, you can get it in a matte finish, or you could spray the whole thing with matte clearcoat when you're done.
  21. Nice! What was the price on it? (or did I miss it further up the post?)
  22. Sorry, just had to post this. (and I vowed I was done with this topic... lol)
  23. Ooh - I didn't know that! I didn't know people could source cases. Cool - thanks for the info!
  24. Sorry... I think I'm a mite bit younger than you and force of habit growing up in SoCal... And for what it's worth, people do talk like that out here... In any case, this thread has provided more than enough foolishness for me. When we start getting into Charlie Sheen territory that's my cue to leave. Hope you find a nice watch - and I do mean that sincerely... BTW, the third image in the set you quoted was actually a Speedmaster Pro, or a Moon Watch. Just thought I'd be helpful if you were trying to track down the model.
  25. That's pretty cool! Kind of odd, but still cool...
