  1. I'm a lefty who wears righty watches on his right wrist... ::shrug::
  2. I e-mailed Mary two weeks ago b/c Sixx told me to give her a try. I asked her if she could find me a particular model, and if so what she'd charge... apparently too busy for my business. So, my most impressive dealer keeps my business (Joshua). Ordered to my door in 6 days.
  3. Dammit! I was totally hoping to have my counterfeit xanax this week!!! F-ing crackdowns...
  4. And by later he means next year?
  5. I JUST joined watchuseek the other day and used a totally different name. I agree that if/when I sell any of my gens that I'm not associated with my rep collecting.
  6. Thumbs up!!! You give me hope that I can find the same restraint you've exercised! I have a PAM 156, Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra, a PAM 111 and a BK Subbie in the works. I have four spots in my watch box for turning mechanisms and I told myself I should never have more than that. I like that there are others who have that same mentality. :-)
  7. The rep is pretty accurate. From what I've learned the big tells of the rep are slightly shorter hands, lack of beveling on the date window, and if you find the best version of it ::cough-cough:: Joshua ::cough::, while the rotor does have the "TAG Heuer Swiss Made" text, the space between Swiss and Made is a little too much. But honestly, it's a pretty darn good replica in all respects. I've seen enough pictures of the reps and compared them to my gen. It really is a nice effort. I don't think I could call you out on it unless I were shaking your hand and staring down at your wrist.
  8. Yeah, I agree d-rock. For a long time I thought my first gen was going to be an air king or a datejust, but it ended up being a TAG Carrera Calibre 5 I practically stole on fleabay.
  9. That is a some amazing work. It's awesome to see a watch handed down through generations.
  10. Joshua shipped my first purchase from him to my door in 6 days. Whooot!
  11. "Women! What can you say? Who made 'em? God must have been a f*ckin' genius. The hair... They say the hair is everything, you know. Have you ever buried your nose in a mountain of curls... just wanted to go to sleep forever? Or lips... and when they touched, yours were like... that first swallow of wine... after you just crossed the desert. [censored]. Hoo-ah! Big ones, little ones, nipples staring right out at ya, like secret searchlights. Mmm. Legs. I don't care if they're Greek columns... or secondhand Steinways. What's between 'em... passport to heaven. I need a drink. Yes, Mr Sims, there's only two syllables in this whole wide world worth hearing: p*ssy. Hah! Are you listenin' to me, son? I'm givin' ya pearls here." Al Pacino, Scent of a Woman
  12. Thanks guys! The rest of collection including some nice gens are going to be resting in the watch box for a while!
  13. So my first purchase from Joshua is of a rep Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra I've lusted after (of the gen) for quite some time. I like the wrist feel a lot and I think the watch has a very nice, classy look with the blue hands and markers giving just that nice touch of bling appeal (subtle still). Packaging was mind-blowingly perfect. There was some rust/oxidation on the bracelet that I did not spot in the quality control pictures, but I took the advice of other members and soaked the bracelet in some dry lube (I use for my bicycle chain) with a splash of WD-40 and loosened it all up and took it off with a toothbrush and the rough side of an old sponge -- came right off. Not to mention that bracelet feels sooooo much better anyhow. Here are some pictures of post efforts of above and resizing: By tabularasa415 at 2011-03-02 By tabularasa415 at 2011-03-02 By tabularasa415 at 2011-03-02 By tabularasa415 at 2011-03-02 By tabularasa415 at 2011-03-02 By tabularasa415 at 2011-03-02 By tabularasa415 at 2011-03-02 By tabularasa415 at 2011-03-02 By tabularasa415 at 2011-03-02 By tabularasa415 at 2011-03-02
  14. I bought a watch from a member in KY and it was at my door in Ohio the next day
  15. I appreciate this advice a great deal. I've yet to sell anything, but now I have a pretty clear picture of what (not) to do. Copied to a word document on my desktop! Thanks again, Panerai153!
  16. Alright guys, What are our opinions on cable service? I used to have Time Warner and switched to AT&T U-verse (which theoretically is great, until it's not and then it's a b#tch to get fixed). Now, I'm thinking of switching up. AT&T is definitely hard to beat price-wise. We have a great selection of cables, DVR throughout the house and 6MBPS high speed internet for $85/month. Time Warner with comparable packaging would be $112/month (unless, of course, I talk to them on the phone and can get it whittled down from that by using the old comparison shopping technique). I do wonder how people like direct tv? I've heard good things from friends, but if we went with direct tv we'd be on our own a la carte style for internet, and as we all know you have to do the "bundling" crap with any of these services to get a decent price on internet. Any thoughts or opinions guys?
  17. Beautiful strap on the Breitling!
  18. From one noob to another, I've read it a thousand times in threads posted here asking the same question (fill in websites name here) -- Stick with trusted dealers. Even if this website isn't a rip-off, if you come across any problems you're not going to have the support of the forum. Our trusted dealers are our trusted dealers because they've built strong relationships with the members of this forum and want to keep such a large client base happy. So, if you do have any problems with them (a trusted dealer) they're going to be MUCH more motivated to help you than whatever individual(s) you've chosen to deal with outside of the trusted dealer section. I know it can be tempting to try other dealers sites b/c they'll have models featured you've never seen from our dealers, but that's b/c often times they're flashing pictures of genuine watches that they don't possess replicas of simply because the replicas do not exist, and that doesn't matter because soon they'll have your money and other people's money and by the time people catch on, he/she/them have already shut the site down and started working on their new scam site. STICK WITH THE TRUSTED DEALERS and avoid the headache. ::steps down from soapbox::
  19. I'm sorry, but that's just a bit much, IMHO.
  20. The Nationwide/paint falling into the lot ad... that was here in Columbus. I remember driving downtown one day, looking over and thinking "WTF?"
  21. I just want to get to 100 :-P Congrats, though, that's amazing!
  22. There are several dealers here who offer them, but I kind of pieced my "essentials" toolkit together from ebay stores. I think you need a link remover, a spring bar tool and a set of screw drivers. At least, those items make for a good start.
  23. What kind of show are they running over there?
  24. I think you're right. If I get it, love it and decide to keep it... off to the watchmaker it goes. That way, I won't end up like so many people on here posting as to how crappy my purchase was after it stops working in a year
  25. I like it! Coming from Ohio, I think I may have found my next gen
