  1. Alright, so I've been pretty active on the gen fora as most of my collection is now gen. While on VRF some time ago, I read about a gentleman who unfortunately bought a 5513 he believed to be a genuine, but turned out to be a franken. Well, everyone weighed in and the opinion was gen movement (obviously), bezel insert, and hands. The case and the dial are definitely fake. Crown? Well, he reached some sort of settlement with the original seller, and I had remarked some time ago that if he wanted to sell it for parts, I'd be interested. Today he e-mailed me, and I ended up buying the watch as she sits. My question to our experts here -- Where do you think this case and dial came from? What would you do to improve it? What would you have paid?
  2. After 8 months of scouring the east coast for parts long since impossible to find, a lot of sweet-talking my watchmaker and more patience then I knew I had... My Tudor 7909, back on my wrist Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Hmmmm... maybe I just get used to yellow gold? It would definitely be the single gold piece in my collection! If you get tired of yours, my friend, I would like to call first on dibs!
  6. So, I'm not a gold person (don't care for yellow, don't see the money for white/platinum when it looks like SS), and I've been thinking of buying a day date movement/dial and putting it in a datejust case. Specifically, an 1556 movement/dial in a 160X case. Can any of our experts chime in as to this working? --Jer
  7. Freddy, I knew you'd definitely appreciate it. When I first came here and had more interest in lots of other brands, I remember observing you as one of THE Rolex guys here, and I didn't understand why -- until I caught the sickness. Now I'd say I fit in the third category as well. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. I mean, it's not enough that we have NO idea what movement this thing contains, or whether or not the case is genuine Rolex or Tudor.... the dial's fake, the crown is from a DJ, the bracelet is Tudor.... I mean, we build Frankens, but this thing is just a turd!
