  1. That's gonna be awesome. I wish I was just a little younger so the 168000 could be my birth year gen purchase instead of the 16800. I can't wait to see it when it's done! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. So I was itching to try out a Dayton, and after seeing Beano's fire sale-priced piece, I couldn't resist. http://www.rwg.cc/topic/144471-soldsold-sold-franken-spinmaster-6263-daytona/ So, let's start with the bracelet. I don't think the bracelet I was sent would have come with the watch, but I don't really care. It's not good quality (or at least good enough for me). How is Yuki's Daytona bracelet? Decent fitment? Should I just buy a gen? If I do, do the 357/557 end pieces fit ok, or do you absolutely have to get 57/571 end pieces? Also, should I get a Yuki dial? Is this dial that bad? Other than these questions, are there any other recommended mods? I really know nothing about Daytonas. I JUST started "studying up" as I didn't want to ask too many stupid questions. I do know one thing: This watch looks damn sexy on my wrist. I'm a smitten kitten. Thanks for your input fellas. I will take some pictures in a bit. Oh, I just realized that I have a gen stretch rivet 6635 with 57 end pieces on my Tudor 7909. I think I may have to see how it fits...
  3. So I'm scanning the sales listings at the geek as I usually do at the beginning of every day, and I see a title "G Shock" and I thought, "must be in the wrong forum section." So, I click on it, and it's a rep G-shock. The seller said he bought a bunch of them for $30 a piece. I've seen gens go for close to this. I'm simply thinking out loud, but replicas of a very affordable watch just seem strange to me.
  4. I saw a really cool blue leather nato that made that pepsi pop....
  5. Hehehe... that crystal was throwing me waaay off.
  6. Yes, they are great. I found a nice condition gen dial on the bay, but JJ told me not to go over $250 bc of how good the yuki dials are. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. So, I went all the way on this. His usual mods (josh 1655 watch, different hands, bezel, caseback, yuki dial etc), but I sourced a gen 6mm crown and tube, a gen tropic, gen insert -- and I think these "work in progress" pictures speak of his passion and talent for the 1675... 8. I wore my Rollie that don't tick-tock...
  9. Yeah, pica are blurry but "o" on the coronet on the clasp is a definite tell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Yum! I want one! This forum and all of the brilliant ideas and all of our brilliant misdeed like J are the reason I have no money for anything :-( ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I'll agree with beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I have 7 1/4" wrists which I think average for my 6' height. I'm about 215 muscular pounds and I feel as comfortable with my 34mm Tudor as I do with my 44mm PAMs. This is my comfort range. I wouldn't wear anything smaller than 34 or anything larger than 44. Most of the time, I grab my 36mm DJ. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. I appreciate most of his selections... I take issue with the Breitling Navitimer choice. Blech.
  16. Wow... that's a labor of love (and cash), and it absolutely shows. Enjoy it, brother!
  17. Hahahaha... we all dream of this scenario. Congrats!
  18. Still Saturday here, too, and in need of another martini (as is evident in the picture)... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. You can send it with specific instruction. For instance, I wanted service papers for a watch I knew was gen, but didn't have the paperwork for -- I sent the watch in and sent specific instructions to service the movement only. In your case, you could send it in for service and possible caseback replacement if deemed defective, but not to touch anything else.
  21. I have a couple of pilot friends, and it's really no wonder to me as to why they're alcoholics (and that's coming from me being in the restaurant industry and drinking a lot)....
