  1. Hahaha... interesting story(s)...
  2. OK, cool... wasn't sure what the story was. I'm now a member of all the fora (at least to my knowledge the big ones) -- RWI, WC and RepGeek. This is my home, and where I feel the most "brotherhood," but I think it's interesting to see the different approaches of different fora.
  3. ...what's the difference between them and us? Was there a split? Are there people who are members of both forums? I've heard of RWG 1.1 mentioned, and I just looked around the site (looks to be set up much like ours). I've been a member here for a while and I was just curious of the history...
  4. Gotta love the open 9th of February ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Yeah, definitely need to see a close-up of the pearl... that's always the giveaway.
  6. Sounds like a mashup, and not even a well-done one at that! What kind of "shop" do you have? Might explain a little about the watch...
  7. What's your next favorite rep forum and why? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Didn't have a watch on, but since you guys decided it's a GMT Monday... Strapped on the EL 063 grail to walk the dogs on this non-winter winter day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Also back to the 1665 -- thinking about getting off of the couch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah, that's who I'm going with. I think my first Franken build may be goin up for sale, though :-X Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. ...can build me a kickbutt 16710? Or maybe even a 1675/16750? I know that there's no good out of the box rep....
  15. I really want to build a good franken 1675. Can anyone recommend anyone who's especially good at building one of these?
  16. He received it Saturday... ahead of the expected delivery date of Monday!
  17. What, is version 8.3 coming already?
  18. Did you post that on the geek, too, or was that someone else? I watched drive this afternoon and thought it looked Patek-ish, but it didn't really fit the character or his personality so I dismissed the thought. Looks like the back story of how he acquired it wasn't mentioned in the movie as it was in the book. Another case of great book, bad movie... go figure :-P
  19. I was banned on TimeZone for posting a watch for sale that was over $5,000.00. I guess they have a separate section for that. ::shrug:: I should have read more clearly, but not even a "hey, buddy, you're new and this is how it works..." Just banned for life. Love it!
  20. Just got done at the gym and waiting to get my hair cut. Flying low key with my 005 on rubber... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Go for it! That's a sleek watch... If you want a non-chrono that's a decent size I love my Omega ref. 2505. 37mm excluding crown and small seconds at 6. It's my poor man's Patek. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. and our forum brother and purchaser sent me a PM concerned as the tracking told him it was out for delivery in my zip code. Ah, how the U.S. postal service is really starting to reflect their growing budget constraints. Thank God I insured it for the full amount of purchase. Let's hope it finds its way to Miami for its new owner. He definitely prefers the watch to a refund. Moral of this story: The USPS is really starting to suck an egg, so insure insure insure.... --Jer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. "So, thank you for your $37,650.00 bid... I'm gonna need that $5.50 for standard domestic shipping. Did you want insurance? Um, if so... Well, not sure how much more you need to add..." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I agree with this. I did NOT receive a TAG for my 21st, but a Seiko for HS graduation. That said, my first (gen) mechanical was the newer TAG Carrera date. I loved the pie pan dial and I even regret selling it. It's design, however, seemed a little over-kill after the purchase of my first gen Rolex Datejust. Even though, for me, TAG had the edge on design, it was the in house Rolex movement that lead me to look at my TAG with disgust. Maybe they're going In a better direction, but we will have to wait and see... In the meantime, I'm preparing to buy a chrono that's the equivalent of Tudor to Rolex, but in this case the substitute to Heuer. I'll keep you all posted ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
