Via iPhone so you'll have to take my word on it, too. Gen 1947 Omega 2505 manual wind small seconds measuring in at 38mm with no crown. Biggin' for its time.
hahaha... I'm a member on the gen forums, and actually do quite a bit of buying and selling. I feel like a double agent, but reading some posts that other members make on the gen forums... well, it sounds like some of the members I see around here ::looking around::
My first gen was a tag carrera date re-issue and I loved it. It had that lovely pie-pan dial look of the 60s that I'd never really seen before (which would eventually lead me to research and spark my obsession with collecting vintage pieces) and I now miss when I look down at my datejust. While most of my gen vintage pieces are late 50s to 60s, I have to say you found a beautiful piece from the era of 70s fish tank watches. Way to persevere, my friend. Wear it with pride!!
That's a good question, and I think the answer is no. I love this watch, and I'm currently shopping for a gen. I was going to buy another gen 16610, but finally got my bk tw best and I think my money would be better spent in a rare bird like the fat lady or a 168000 sub.
It has to be a service dial. It's simply marked "swiss." I can't say I've seen a dial like that on any 1665. Even the service dials I've seen are marked t swiss t 25. It's odd, and the pearl in the insert looks wonky too.
I picked this up on the bay after reading a review of what a good product this guy produces. I gotta say, definitely makes the watch pop. I'm going to keep it on for a while.
...only to discover the coolest way to wear a Double Red Sea Dweller.
Black Shell Cordovan NATO strap with red stitching
by the way, got to LOVE the 9th ;-)... open as cool as the 6th.
I'm ready to buy one of these just to see what it is, precisely. Of course, someone on the thread said to wait a couple of weeks b/c they're going to be releasing a new/better version?
