  1. Just got this one a few days ago, no decent wristies yet, but some shots from last night. Wore this today. This one tonight, Big valentine Gala !!
  2. Sorry, the link was for RWG, he hasn't logged in here in a year. I'll go over to RWI and look at his storefront. Thanks
  3. AFA george,Unless you have and email, it's probably impossible to contact him, as it has been right at a year since he logged in here. Really would be nice to find someone on this side of the pond that could do the jewel conversions on the sec@12 on all the AP ROO's. I'm a little leery about trying to send watches to Domi in the EU. 4. How do you get in touch with Rex. He must be on one of the other forums? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. M, That's looking good. I'm not a big fan of really faded inserts, but considering the age and look of that particular watch, it all goes together. That is a very, very nice watch. What are you thinking about for a band? those came on either an Oyster bracelet or a Jubilee, and either would look really nice.
  6. Speaking of the A7750, We really need someone here in the USA that can do the extra jewel(s) modification to the sec @ 6 & 12 A7750's that are in AP ROO's and later model Daytonas. Domi in France does it, but it's risky sending watches back and forth to the EU from USA.
  7. Mike, Maurice Lacroix watches are great. I have had several, and every one of them have been high quality, well made watches. I don't think you will be disappointed in this one. Here is the only one I have left Here are a couple that have departed. I really regret selling the Reveil Globe, but I needed funds for non-watch related stuff and it had to go
  8. Congrats to a great guy and top notch member.
  9. Very, Very nice! love those Tudor Chronos.
  10. Let the search function be your friend. lots and lots of information here. Good reviews, lots of photos of reps and genuine. you will be amazed at how quickly your knowledge level increases just by searching and reading
  11. maverick, there are several good watch modders in the EU, so it should be a simple fix by domi or rolexaddict, or maybe others who are in the EU and make shipping simple and safe. I would have it fixed, as it would end up selling for more. lots of folks won't buy a broken watch, unless they are able to fix it themselves or have a watchmaker that they know and trust. In a lot of cases, folks just don't want the hassle of trying to get a watch fixed.
  12. Is the dial loose or is the hand loose? Photos would help.
  13. That one is beautiful. Nice thing is these bracelets aren't 4-6K !! you can wear it for a year or two and then replace it and it won't break the bank, or you can find a nice Alligator strap and a Gold buckle and wear it on the strap.
  14. I can't say enough good things about Matt, he has worked on a bunch of watches for me, and the results have always exceeded my expectations. He is definitely the Rolex guy to go to here in the USA, especially watches like DJ,s and D/D's, but he works on them all.
  15. Anything I can do to help. Remember guys, none of us can foresee the future. Next week, next month, next year, heck, tomorrow, it could be one of us who has some reversal, health, economic, family, we just don't know. So please support this good cause.
  16. That is a beautiful watch, but I'm afraid it's just too big for my measly 7"wrist !! When you get old, really old, like me, you have to wear watches that aren't too big, nor too "edgy" if that's the right word. the AP divers and some of the AP 42mm ROO's are watches I can pull off. Not to take away from yours, because if I were 20 years younger, and maybe had bigger wrists, this one would definitely be on my wrist.
  17. Thanks very much. that's what I'm looking for. Some of the dealer websites have conflicting listings, as they are showing the quite a lot of watches under the heading Royal Oak Offshore, but listing them individually as 44mm X 16mm, rather than 42 X 16 which they should be listed.
  18. I have read, researched and visited dealer websites, I still cannot determine if their are any 42mm ROO's ( chronos, not divers) available from our dealers. My FC V3 and my S/S V5 diver are both pushing the limits for both size and comfort on my 7"+ wrist. I know without touching one of the 44mm models they will be too big for me. So my question is are their any 42mm versions available. I have seen some on dealer websites listed as 42mm and the next dealer has them as 44mm, so that in itself is confusing. Help appreciated. 19. Nice thing about the ST is it's made to gen spec AFA the interior of the case, and the dial opening. Pretty easy to install gen parts. Matt isn't crazy about the ST case, but he used one to build my 16613. Gen dial, crystal, aftermarket 18k Bezel, gen insert, gen crown.
  20. I believe that you faded it a little too much. Somewhere between the brand new and the really faded. Here is my 16750, not as old as yours, but still it's 30 years old.
  21. that's pretty nice Mike. i've had a couple of yellow dial Doxas over the years, and they never resonated, no matter how much I wanted to love them.
  22. I agree with Legend 100%. You guys are all new, and we welcome you to the forum. You can learn a great deal about watches in general and reps in particular if you hang around here, and read and research the watches you are interested in. Please don't get too wrapped up in the hype about 1:1. there just isn't any such animal in the rep world. There are some really good reps, and some really awful reps, you just have to dig out the information and decide which is which. Some reps by their construction, popularity and parts availability are fairly easy to get close to perfect, notice I said close, because none of them are ever going to be perfect, unless you buy enough genuine parts to build a complete watch!! Some reps because of their construction are almost impossible to make much better. Some can be improved, by better lume, better AR on the crystal, possibly a better movement, but generally to get any watch as close to the genuine as possible requires the substitution of rep parts with genuine parts. things like crystals, dials, hands, movements, crowns, pushers, etc. are what take reps to the next level, and even those while close are not 1:1..
  23. I have the same question? What is your car to watch price ratio? I have also noticed that there seem to be a lot of FC divers on the sales forums lately. not really sure why, however I do believe that it has a lot to do with the amount of hype the watches got at first, and when that happens, folks tend to get caught up in the "feeding frenzy". I k now I saw it and WOW!! I thought that's a nice watch, I got to have one. By nature the folks who frequent watch forums regularly, are flippers. Folks buy watches that they think they will like, and when they arrive, often times, even though we want to love them, we can't. When we realize that they don't resonate, and they aren't going to "grow on us" we put them up for sale and move on to the next one. Everyone who buys a watch and then resells it has their own reasons for selling, so it's probably not easy to boil it down to a reason, or a couple of reasons. But I do have a theory or two. One, this is a pretty big watch. Although it's light, especially compared to the S/S diver like the 4.1 or V5, it's still pretty substantial. if you have a 6 -6 1/2 ' wrist, I don't think you are going to be really happy with this watch. Another thing, when new, the rubber strap is really, really stiff. It takes some getting used to especially if you are used to metal bracelets or leather straps. I wore mine for a month before It really started breaking in. It seems to have softened up a little and it's much more comfortable. As I said, it's a big watch and since it's winter, folks are wearing it under long sleeve shirts sweaters, etc., which add to the discomfort level especially if it's under a sweater with tight cuffs. I said in another post, that I thought it would be a better summer watch. It's never going to be one of those watches that seem to "disappear' on your wrist, like some of the 39mm Rolex models with comfortable well broken in Oyster bracelets. Lastly, We start reading all the threads and posts with comparisons of the various models and sometimes we start to have doubts. "Is this really the best model" ,"Is this watch accurate enough to wear out in public where I might encounter another WIS"? I know that in the past, after reading a bunch of conflicting posts about which model is better, which is the most accurate, which has the best dial, etc. I am more confused than before I started reading. I suppose what we all want is to have someone give us a definitive answer that this IS the best rep of this particular watch available. unfortunately, their is rarely a consensus when it comes to watches. If you read the threads, you will find as many folks that say the H Factory is the best as those who say the V3 is the best, so with all that info, one has to sort through it and try to make the best decision for his own situation. I am sure that their are lots and lots of other reasons, such as the member who posted above that the dark hour hand is a deal breaker. I agree it would be better if it had a contrasting color, possibly yellow outlining the edges, sort of like the minute hand. I wish it had better lume, and a better AR on the Cyclops, but both of those are problems that are addressable if the watch is a keeper. I believe that mine is a keeper, I like the watch a lot. Now having said that I have had watches in the past that were dear to my heart for a while, and then over time slipped further and further to the back of the watch box, so I never say never anymore.
