Hey RWG ! Just received the 2 final pieces of the puzzle today... Can't resist to show you some quick dirty pics - the projects will be finished soon... It will be f*king awesome (at least) Quick side note : is Rolex just stupid, or someone can explain me why a NOS 800 crown don't fit a NOS 8000 tube ? Just like NOS 702 crown and 7020 tube. Very boring if you ask me... Next time I'll use aftermarket pieces - at least they fit together... Just kidding => Lesson learned Cheers ! R.

Caddell Sub is as you can see on it's blog a "fantasy" mod for his Submariner. Black DW, no cyclops lens, red "like Yatchmaster" seconds hand, etc. The TC Sub v5 is just like the Submariner released by Rolex. No fantasy. "Big" upgrade between classic TC Sub and Caddell Sub is the dial. It's much better (gen like) on the Caddell Sub. But you can't have this dial on a classic TC Sub right now. Just read the blog...

Anyone can update this thread once he will have some news of TC ? On my side I've send my payment the 23th September, but with shipping to France via UK. This may explain the additional required time.

Well, whatever I do, I think it's cause of my IP. Even on ebay.com it does not work. I'll test with an American IP later. It's bad for his business, I'm sure there is many people interested by his pens in EU...

And final update to close this thread. Phong had difficulties to receive my e-mails. Unfortunately it was impossible to me to discover it by myself Now with another e-mail, his communication is - as always - very good. And his products very good... So no worries to have ! +1 I tested almost all the aftermarket 2.00mm bars, they are all bullshit, and fits bad on the case. You can sometimes find some genuine bars on VRF I bought 2 sets of bars for $50 1 month ago... It worth the cost !!!

Quick update, just got an answer from Phong asking my S/N It seems he doesn't see my other messages, so I asked him again about the case backs

Hello, You have to know the holes for the coronet are not gen-like on the DW dial, So it will need a bit of precise work to remove the coronet feet, and glue it on the DW dial. Somebody here have done it on a MQ PN dial, but IMO I would let an experienced watchmaker do this because it's not easy to do Also, I don't know if it worth the effort to do this on a DW dial...

I just checked my mail server (self-hosted), all the e-mail from him are OK, no trace of lost / blacklisted / rejected e-mail So I just wait for an answer to tell him my serial number. I hope he will answer me, that's very strange he is "selecting" his customers for his replies... Anyways, thanks again A., you saved my day from some unnecessary stress !!!

Because I also asked what kind of back case he have to choose the serial number accordingly I just asked him by e-mail what back cases he have, because I don't want him to choose my S/N

Hey guys, Short story, but I send some stuff to Phong (with very expensive Express shipping !). He have received it the 4th October according to the tracking number. I have asked him 4 times (1 time each day) if he received it the package, 3 answers from him and he never confirmed me anything... The last reply I had was the 8th October... Since that date, I don't have any message from him. I'm starting to be a bit worried, considering the stuff I sent to him (6240 case, x2 NOS P302 pushers, x1 NOS 7000 tube, x1 NOS 8000 tube) I'm not used to be painful, but this is a lot of money, and I think it's not cool to at least don't tell me "your package is received, no problem" Do anyone have some contact with him these days ? Hi Zaza :-) Replied you in PM ! As I said, I have some doubts about the fact this bezel is genuine. It's impossible to see any metal brushing effect cause of the high level of polishing... And the teeth still looks not so much polished. Pic of my NOS 1665 bezel from service : About the teeth, and the metal look, it looks like much more like Phong's omgiv bezel, with a bit of (artificial ?) aging. I agree with omgiv : side picture can help to recognize a gen bezel. Rep bezels are usually thinner. My opinion : I'll pass on stuff I'm not 100% sure is genuine :-)

I do not doubt that :-) I'll make the comparison just for "fun" :-)

I'll do a photo comparison once I'll receive it Also bought a T19 from Clarks & Yuki And some bezel inserts from Clarks & Yuki too. Will see what I can do with some bleach :-) The Yuki insert looks very good... Plus finally a 2846 from Uhren-baron Well... This project looks good Still not decided about who to choose for the relume of dial & hands... I'm always looking about the Tritium patina on my gen 1665 dial & hands... I'm very anal with it ! Hey RWG This is my first vintage project from scratch with non-Rolex based movement, I got a HH 5514 case with a Whoopster COMEX dial, witch are both amazing. I know the Tudor gen hands will be a must, but it seems it is very difficult to find. At least, I didn't find anything like that. Another question is to know if there is good aftermarket alternatives for the insert ? I don't care about the pearl, I'll just remove it, I'm more talking about the printings for a mid-font of fat-font insert And my final question - who in EU does a very good vintage relume ? I know about RA / JJ, but wanted to know if there is another options here. If anyone have an ETA 2846, vintage insert, or very good hands for sale...
