  1. Around 50 - 60 half-turns is usual for a 6947.

But one of my Asian 6947s takes about 150 half-turns... low-geared, I suppose.

I love the watch (a Davidsen) so I don't gripe.

    Well, not much...

I didn't count how many round to wind fully in my 113; I think not more than 50....then work not less than 2 days.

    RCKH

  2. you will know when you've fully wound the mainspring -- essentially you won't be able to wind anymore. The Zigmeister has said that unless you're maliciously trying to overwind the watch, there is a very low likelihood of breaking the mainspring.

fyi, the standard power reserve for a handwind 6497 is about 48 hours....

    hope this helps,

    deltatahoe

I recieved my Davidsen 113 white dial on last week. It's great!

You'll know when your 111H fully wound; because u can clearly feel that it can't be wound anymore. So don't worry about breaking the mainspring. Just keep wound it until it you feel it stop. I haven't count how many round to wind as it full; but after fully wound my 113 will run around 2 days.

BTW, I found that my C3 lumed hands & dial seems won't last one night. Maybe several hours; I think. After that it totally gone-out without any lume....How about yours? :g:

Having fun with your new toy!

    Best Regards,

    Raymond

  3. I think my next move will be Pam 196 with bracelet, PP naulitus 3700 if a/v, and VC new oversea.....

    Hello There! PangHK!

Nice to see your collection; so exciting found someone same like me came from HK!

Well, Why only 6 reps in your life? Are U same with me made a stupid commitment with your wife? Ah, I commit my wife I won't buy anymore watch within 3 years after I got my 3th reps 8 months ago......But the truth is : I got my IWC Pilot Chrono 3717 last month from PT Angus. Then; last week I got another Panerai 113 White-dial from Mr.Davidsen. Believe me, don't let go your hobbies so soon. It's a new world without border & limits!!

    Cheers,

    Raymond :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  4. Drat. I forgot another psychological analysis point:

    - Some of us have social anxiety disorder, which makes us live in sheer terror that we'll be called out by either a jeweler, or an AD for wearing a replica watch. Most of the time, we keep this in check and go to unusual lengths to make our reps look genuine, but we all know it's a matter of time, place, and the worst opportunity imaginable. But there are times when we fly very close to the wind, and almost dare people to do so (like entering AD shops, or going to a party wearing a $80,000 watch, where people know we couldn't possibly afford that).

Let's call this the The Zigmeister Disorder or Flavor Flav Syndrome.

Ha! I think a very simple word can replace all the analysis point: "Crazy"

    Yes, We have crazy!

    Best Regards,

    Raymond

  5. I read the entirety of your post and I enjoyed it very much. Indeed, all reps have flaws. From the $600 Big Bang that falls apart randomly, to the $568 tourbillon with misspelled word on its face, and even the $4000 solid gold president... but that comes with the territory. I'm not quite sure whether by "flaw" you mean error in design of the watch (that is, closeness to the original it imitates) or damage in manufacture (as in a misaligned bezel, or poorly constructed movement). Both of these aforementioned 'flaws' are present on every rep, in one way or another, and yet I still find myself buying them. Why?

Because I love watches, and sadly, I am not a millionaire.

    Corgi:

Good point! "Because I love watches, and sadly, I am not a millionaire."

Sometime I think why I'm always try to find the flaws on rep? Is it because they're rep? If I going to buy Gen; it's still not 100% guarantee no flaws either. This's the problem came from myself; I'm afraid someone call-out I wearing a fake watch. I expect a rep can pretend a gen....That's why I keep looking for a so-call "perfect-rep". I should / I must fine tune my attitude in collecting reps, otherwise I'll get more suffer than happiness!

    Thx folks!

    Best Regards,

    Raymond

  6. That is not zen, that is karma. Why asking yourself those questions?

Happiness and satisfaction are in pursuing what makes you happy, not in measuring how much happy you managed to become.

Enjoy your hobby and this community -- and yes, even the occasional movement stopping and stem breaking. Take it easy. Quit measuring. There is a lot fun here, even with (I would even say 'in') all that we call 'imperfections' or 'flaws'.

Both of watches and people.

    SSSurfer:

Thx so much for your reply! I like your avatar. It's just look like God!

You clear-up my mind: "Happiness and satisfaction are in pursuing what makes you happy, not in measuring how much happy"

    I'll remember that! Thx!

  7. If I were rich, I would not be partaking in this hobby.

As it is, I'm not rich, and this hobby enthuses me and I love the learninating and studinating aspects as much as the photoage-takinating and reviewinataging.

However, motivation is waning a little as the community is getting used to the stuff we, the hardcore article posters, are posting. We're getting less reinforcement from the community than before and that's leading to a decline in enthusiasm and motivation.

How can you stop this? Find a post you read and liked that made you think or made you smile and reply to it. A simple "nice post" or "nice pictures" or "that's funny" will do. Give The Zigmeister a hug, comment on one of By-Tor's reviews, tell Ubiquitous you love his Daytonas, remind TTK he takes good pictures, discover future stars Stephane or Seadweller4000's posts and tell them what you think, ask Justasgood how he does those mods, Enquire after V's strap collection, laugh at Nanuq's antics and cry at his collection, roll your eyes at Slay's latest, tell Dutchy he looks like a chick, thank the Moderators here for the stalwart work they're doing ... find someone on this list I've not mentioned and remind me to not forget them next time. Heck, even post in the shortest thread!

Just take part, keep the hobby alive, help the community by being part of it.

If you don't keep us happy, we may all find hobbies that do and I for one would not be happy with that result.

Damn, this post seems to have been brewing in me for a while. Looks like it's escaped.

    Pugwash:

Thx so much for your replied! I love this community, I learn so much from this place. Here become my home & I surfing around everyday. I'm so happy to be one of this community; we have the same hobby; we have the same interest. Everytime I buy a new rep; I always feel I'm not the only "Decision Maker"; the purchase is not a personal matter. Just like we buy it together!

The Zigmeister, TTK, Stepane, By-Tor.......etc. We never met but we see each other right here everyday just like a family!

    Best Regards,

    Raymond

  8. Dear all:

I feel something in my head today; why we "Collecting" Rep? Are we truthly happy? Do we feel satisfty?

I started my collecting not too long; about 1.5 years. My first rep is purchase in china with my wife. HKD$200 only Daytona 116520 SS. I'm very happy at that moment; I feel exciting about it swapping second hand + crown engrave on glass at 6:00.

At that moment; I know nothing about movement, swiss made, ETA, AR......etc. But I'm very happy; I don't hestiate to SHOWOFF my flawly daytona in public train, bus anyway. (Sure for now, I know I'm stupid as everyone know I wearing a fake daytona). 2 months later, the crown can't screw in anymore & no fix in anyway. I started to looking for a more accurate & high quality daytona again. I found a guy selling a series of Rolex & his price is much much higher than the others. At last I purchase a 116520 SS A7750 from him. It work perfect for 2 months & at the same time I purchase a lot of Rolex book, magazine & surf through the internet to step on my path to the dark-side. In the 3rd month after I bought the Daytona; I strike again & purchase 1 2836-2 Submariner LV + 2836-2 Explorer II from my dealer at the same time....

I can't remember when or how I found RWG then RWI. I started to learn about movement, read most of the review from members, all review by The Zigmeister. Now I know much more about watch; what is rep? what is movement? what is good? what is bad? As I learn more; I found more flaws on my watch & I feel not happy or satisfy with them. Last month I bought IWC Pilot chrono 3717 from Angus; is it good? Quite good but still have flaw. Last week I bought PAM 113 white dial from Mr.DSN; is it good? Very good but still have flaw.

These few days; several questions came up my mind: Is it worth to continue? Why I'm doing this? The most important is Am I happy with my reps?

    Path of purchase a rep:

1.) Found my target (Exciting)---->2.)Doing a lot of research; reading "My target" reviews(Enjoying)--->3.)Found the Known-Flaw; ask myself can I get along with it (Struggling)--->4.)Found a dealer; reading His/Her review (Brain-Storming)--->5.)Email to dealer asking + quote price....(Waiting reply)---->6.)Decision making (Nerious)---->7.)Shipment arrived; flaw founding 8.)Problem fixing, servicing (long waiting)

Every rep in my collections (Daytona, LV, EXPII, IWC 3717) have their own flaws; not even one make me really feel truely satisfied. Except the most recent Mr.DSN PAM113 . I don't know is it my attitude problem or anything; I can't really found a so-call "perfect rep ". Will I still purchase rep? Maybe yes, Maybe No. I read a post yesterday from a member he mention about the buy GEN & Rep. Buy a Gen; u can sit in AD store try it ,feel it & enjoy it. U got a good, polite service, a hand shake or sometime a coffee. It's ready to rock & roll immediately when your gen out-of-box. No more problem fixing, No more waiting; No more annoying. Hey, but I know the truth is: we just need to spend 1/10 of the Gen prices to get almost the same outlook, Function watch. But, beside the price advantage, how many or how much suffer we should take? Is it worth?

I'm not here to blame anyone, anythings. I love watch & I love the process in learn & research. Just here to share my feeling with all folks here!

    Best Regards,

    Raymond

  9. Updated news!

After several days observation; I found my 113 white dial lost around 4~5mins a day. Just 2 hours ago; I went to my faithful watchsmith who serviced all my rep before. He use a machine to test the calibation; I wonder it show -233sec/day........

My watchsmith spend 5 mins to regulate my 113 to +/-0~2 sec/day. Seems my last question had been answered; My 113 are not cablirated before it ship. Anyway, it fine for me just spend usd$3.8(HK$30.-) to regulate my watch. But maybe we should pay attention to this point when we purchase from dealer's.

    Cheers,

    Raymond

  10. Oh yeah! After 3 weeks research + Study all the review of Mr.DSN. Yesterday, I pull the trigger at my 5th rep but the 1st PAM 113 White dial. Because shipment from HK to HK; I got my stunning 113 this afternoon as Mr.DSN promise. A little be nervous when I open my package; good + well packed ---->1 plastic bag + around by bubble-plastic of my 113 watch-head, & 2 seperate 115mm X 75mm Buffalo grain leather strap for my 15.3cm thinny-hand(1 Black + 1brown)....As usal a pair of extra springbar also included. (But no PANERAI leather key-ring...)

I must clearly say that my 113 white dial is a NEW-VERSION as Mr.DSN post before; Let take a quick review as below:

1.) In some review of Mr.DSN product; members complain about the lug-screw problem---->there's no thread in lug-hole. I got no such problem at both lug-hole. Both lug-hole was threaded ; so springbar are fit , tight & smooth during my installation of straps.

2.) Post 113 white dial have a flaw of 2 dots at 12 o'clock a little be too far from each others. Mine version are close as GEN. However; "L Swiss Made L" fonts are still too small & "Swiss" not at right place it should be. But this not bother me one bit; I can get along with it.

3.) My movement is Swiss 6479 with functional DAGGER not NEEDLE swan-neck; I check the photo on Official Panerai site it should be DAGGER rather than NEEDLE. That's Great!

4.) The "OFFINCE PANERAI" blue engrave on movement still a little be outlined but not serious. Also; I can get along with it too.

5.) Crown-Guard in post version are polished. This made a serious discussion of this main flaw when post version establish; but in my new version. CG already Brushed. Woo! Mr.DSN score again!

6.) C3 superlumed dial + hand are good & strong. Compare with my collection of 4th rep before (16610LV, EXPII, IWC 3717, Daytona 116509). Under NOT charged situation; 113 is the strongest lume I had. After charged; both hand lume just like a Jedi lightsaber in Star Wars! I love it!

Within this 8 hours from I received my 113; I'm very very happy about this rep. Because last 4th rep I own; each one have got 1 or 2 flaws during their arrivial. But until now; I can't found any flaw in my new 113 & absolutely out of my expectation.

One last thing need to be review ---> the accuracy; Is it like Mr.DSN said that movement are already well serviced + calibrated? After several days later we'll know the truth. Until now I vote positive to Mr.DSN modded 113 for our members. Will I purchase again? I say YES without any hestiation. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Sorry I can't get several photos of my 113 as my Digital camera had been borrowed by my little brother. i'm here to attach 3 photos which send by Mr.DSN for my reference.

Sorry for my terrible english! Hope u enjoy my review!

    Raymond

  11. Finally; I know the reason why Mr.DSN not reply a new customer (ME!!) email & answer very brief + a part of the questions from me within these 2 days. He's busy at launching his new Fiddy...... Not here to complain but I study all the review in RWI & RWG all said that "Great communications", "Good Customer-service", "Email like a friend rather than a buyer & seller"......Maybe I just step in at a wrong time to try get my 5th rep but 1st PAM rep.....

    Raymond

  12. Dear All:

I'm new in PAM & looking for a good PAM for my 5th rep collection; please kindly teach me~~~

    What's the different of:Swiss 6479, Swiss 7479, Swiss H?

    What's "Functional Dagger Swan Neck"?

What's the different of Mr.Davidsen PAM with other Dealers?

What's the "Recessed Hand problem"? Why High cannon-pin can fix it? What's problem exactly? Slipping hand? Halt movement?

How strong the C3 relume compare with standard rep lume?

    Best Regards,

    Raymond

  13. Dear All:

Last night I contact my dealer Puretime Angus & ask about the release date of IWC Cousteau 2007. But Angus replied me that these project had been suspended....He didn't mention why or how long the project will be suspend; positive side he not told me the project stopped; just only suspend. Maybe all we need to wait a little be longer. I'll get u update if any news!

    Best Regards,

    Raymond

    The Zigmeisterzumba:

Nice to see u here! :thumbsupsmileyanim: I read all your post in RWG; I remember that in your review of old 21.6k vs new28.8k 7750, U mention about the cannon pin improved in new version. That mean new 28.8k A7750 movement won't got this slipping minute-hand problem?

Thx so much for your help!

    Raymond

  15. Yo!

I got my 3717 from Puretime Angus 21.6k version. Refer to my post before; I found my 3717 got slipping minute-hand problem. When I turn my watch I notice the minute-hand slipping between 2 minutes marking. I already send my 3717 to service & returned. My watchsmith told me that this problem cause by space between gear & couldn't fix! I'm still can't make my decision whether I should send it back to Angus or not as I already serviced & calibated.

Would U mind to check yours & reply whether u got this problem or not?

Thx The Zigmeister advice; problem fixed!

  16. Dear All:

Yesterday I recieved my IWC Pilot chrono 3717; everything just fine but today I observe it in my winder. I found that the min hand slipping during winder rotating......It slipping around 1 minute space. What the HxLL is going on?

It's difficult for me to explain in english...I try my best:

My winder rotate clockwise; time should be 7:05. Watch start to rotate from left to right when watch turn downward; min hand "drop" to 7:06. After half rotation finish watch start to turn upward; min hand from 7:06 "drop" back to 7:05...........ShXt!!! :cry

Oh my god! Is there any one have any idea about my problem? <_<<_<

    Best Regards,

    RCKH

  17. OH Yeah! I just received my 4th Rep IWC Pilot Chrono from Puretime Angus

First Impression; NO GOOD My God!! It's GORGEOUS! Absoultely beauty-beast! :victory:

    sample review here :

1.) Follow the Straight instructions to adjust time first set to 6:00am then adjust the Day-Date. My IWC haven't got the famous DAY-DATE mis-alignment + fonts desortion painting problem ....trust me absolutely great! Seems Angus work this out! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

2.) Strong AR compare with my daily wearing EXPII! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

3.) During my adjustment; compare with my serviced Daytona 116509@6. I can feel the movement are DRY!!!! No good but all we know the A7750 are NOT well oiled & service when they sold. :animal_rooster:

4.) The leather-strap are bad looking as prefered....

5.) Both Springbars are too thin & already loosed one of them into the package box when arrived......

6.) Deployant-Buckle are more difficult to use for me....Maybe I just too stupid at all :black_eye:

7.) Power-reserve are strong, How I know? Angus confirmed order on Monday morning & ship out afternoon, after 2 days I got my watch it still running....

Right now several things I'll going to do immediately:

1.) send it to my local watchsmith who serviced my Daytona 1 week before to Overhaul & service it well

2.) change both springbar for strap...I don't want my watch go-off in future because the thin springbars

3.) work out an excuse to CHEAT my lovely wife......I make a promise to her I'm NOT going to purchase any watch within 2 years since 8 months ago I bought 3 rolex reps almost at the same time.......SHXT :black_eye: ...Don't be a fool like me folks!

After I get it back from my watchsmith; I'll give u all a full review + photos.

Thx Angus! Thx all bros here to help me gather informations & give me advice!

    Cheers!
