  1. The AP Royal Oak is designed with screws that go through the entire case, holding it together. The screws on the bezel are actually not screws, they are nuts. The screws on the caseback are actual long screws that fit into the bezel "nuts". So, the bezel screws are nuts, and the caseback screws are long screws. Here is a pic of the case back:
  2. Woke up this morning and realized that I had passed out with my MBW AP RO Jumbo on my wrist last night. So, for today, I have decided to continue to wear this beauty
  3. My good friend's motto: "Quality Over Quantity" Here are some Gerald Genta party pics for you! Enjoy. PS. Rolex, Pam, Breitling and Tag were not invited.
  4. Just got this AP Royal Oak Jumbo yesterday!!! Wow!!
  5. The day/date wheels might line up perfectly, they might not be perfect at all settings. It's the luck of the draw, I think, with any Asia 7750 (new or old). I think that there is a slight amount of AR. As is though, the crystal looks the same as it does on the genuine 3717. I will post new pics of my 3717 once I get it back from The Zigmeister! Cheers
  6. If I lived in the Tri-State area, I'd drive on over in a flash to have a few cold pints with you gentlemen (& lovely lady). Cheers
  7. Hi Subby, Welcome aboard Perhaps you could post larger pics. Yours are too small to see any details. Cheers
  8. Here are some 3536-02 Aquatimer pics (the -02 denotes S/S version, -01 denotes Ti version). ***Please note that these are not my pics, and that the watches are genuine. These are posted here for reference purposes. I will be doing a detailed review of the replica 3536 Aquatimer in a couple of days. And here are some compared to a Sea Dweller:
  9. I'm getting my 3717 back from The Zigmeister I'm so excited! I had The Zigmeister transplant a Swiss 7750 and install the Cousins Day+Date wheels. And I had the watch relumed. I will post pics once I get it back. Thanks The Zigmeister!
  10. The usual black dial. I'm so predictable. It is gorgeous. Ubi, you were right in respects to the gold screws. They are very subtle in appearance. Looks very understated & elegant. What an extraordinary rep. If they keep making reps like this, I'm going to be broke Cheers
  11. Ohhh yeah! I'm wearing my new AP Jumbo right now. Just got it this afternoon Wow! Pics to come tomorrow, it's night time here and I like my pics lit with natural light instead of tungsten.
  12. That is a nice rep. I wonder if there are other variations of it? I see that it has the Asia movement with the silly caseback "12345678" markings on it like my Asia Jones Fantasy:
  13. Hey Pug, what's in those bottles, Scotch?
  14. It is one of the best reps made period. The quality is outstanding. You would be hard pressed to find a genuine watch of equal quality for the price of this rep.
  15. Was there ever a 3536 Titanium Aquatimer rep? For some reason, I seem to recall that there was one available a few years ago. Am I crazy? Did I dream this up?
  16. Thanks guys for the input. I am still confused as to what I should do. One thing is for sure, I will never expose any of my OEM vintage watches to moisture. It is an interesting idea to file down the top of the old crown and see if the threads match. I might try that - especially out of sheer curiosity. As is, the crown is aesthetically quite worn on. I certainly would not use it again. Perhpas I will try and procure a NOS 24-702 crown since I have a 24-7020 tube on its way to me as I type. *Edit: I have a 7mm Triplock crown, but I am not sure which model it is. I suppose that both the earlier 702 crown and the later 703 crown share the same thread tap? In essence, what I am getting at is that perhaps all Triplocks fit the older 24-7020 tube? Once I get the 24-7020 tube in the mail I can test this out, but until that time comes, I remain at this board's mercy
  17. Nice! I have a buddy who is a hardcore Ikepod collector. They are great watches, and certainly very unique.
  18. Wow, that is awesome! I will have to search for the correct font. Perhaps Ubi would know. Cheers
  19. Well, that's great news. It's always great to hear of a new kind of mod that is deemed "possible". Cheers
  20. You are right Doc, Triplock is the way to go, but since I have a NOS Twinlock crown (and a worn one on my 5513), I figured that I'd try to get the correct tube. Usually, it does not take me years to source Rolex parts - maybe a year or so at the most. But this tube has been elusive! I might have to throw in the towel and find a NOS Triplock set and have it installed
  21. I was wondering if anybody knows of a source for the IWC Aquatimer Black Rubber strap. I am thinking that I'd like to try one on my 3536 Aquatimer 2000M.
  22. Wow, I am puzzled by this news. The 7750 is way thicker than V72. In fact, in the old days (way before DW existed) when the EE reigned supreme, nobody made an EE V72 conversion because it was deemed as not possible. It's great to hear that this conversion might actually be possible. I look forward to hearing about the outcome of your project! Cheers
  23. Fascinating, I was under the impression that Twinlock and Triplock tubes had different threads. Maybe I should look for a NOS 24-702 crown/tube set instead of trying to find a 24-7000 tube.
