So after some thoughts and a opportunity to buy a heavy modded PAM199 I now have a Sub back.
Here it is with my (vac) PAM111
Mods are :
- Vac lume (vintage lume color)
- Gen 7750 serviced
- 2geeks date wheel
- crown and bezel have been tightened
Best of all, it has a gen feel.
Thanks for looking.
Thank you guys.
After doing some research I think I'm going to try to build a 002BT. That is a early series 002 with the rare T dial. I've seen these with OP6502 and OP6520.
Not going to be Pre-V nor Pre-A what is the best (to get, affordable and source-able) case set?
I have the dial and hands you can see here when they where previously installed in a PAM00002
I want to rebuild this watch. My question is what the base case set will be to use? I know DSN has them but he is hard to pay not using Paypal. Are there any other options? Maybe a 111J case!
Here is a gen.
Thank you.
Yes the white dial is a great, it is exactly that what I wanted. Unfortinately I damaged the dial a little with instalation, there is a tiny spot just under the W where the pant is damaged.
At the moment I'm only capable to make iPhone pics, this is the best I can do att:
Thans Freddy, I will look into that.
Yes Sly, recognised your old case? jmb made the bezel if I recall correct ;-)
Thanks for the nice comments, keep them comming LOL
This is my first project so be gentle LOL.
The rolex Explorer was always my favorite Roles besides the SD. Its simpleness, less is more appeals to me. So first i bought one from Narikaa. Allthough very nice and a lot of bang for the buck I was not satisfied. I could blame LHOOQ for that, his posts on the forums about the 1016 made me want more.
So I ordered a good dial, best dial available at that time was the Space-Dweller dial. I bought a very nice case from a fellow forumer based on a 16200. Also bought a 2846 slow beat. The hard part was/is to find decent hands to match the ivory color of the dial indexes (if any one can point me out to decent hands for ETA please let me know)
Since I'm just an enthuesastic hobbyist and not a watchmaker I made some stupid (mostly inpatience) mistakes but all in all I'm sattisfied with the result alltough I wand different hands on it.
Here are some pics.
Any suggestions for a bracelet?
I had a gen 24B once and want one back.
This was my gen:
Now I found out that DSN has a 24A in his program. To my untrained eyes it looks good but is it? I've read about a low crown position but do not realy care about that. Is there anything else wrong?
Of what?
EDIT* ahh, you mean the lugholes!?
yes they are still to small. There is actually more wrong, like the dial, bezel inlay, Crown Guards. Just trying to figure out if a complete make over would make any sense on this watch.
