  1. Very retro, and yes it looks good although I cannot compare it to the gen either.
  2. Thanks M. I hope you are right. If I compare it to my gen t39 in my 1665 it sure looks like a gen. Anyhow, I'm happy but it would be nice to know for sure!
  3. Just got my Daytona 6263 I bought from again (thanks again for a smooth deal here). It just blow me away . Why o why did I not bought a vintage Daytona before. On the other hand, what to do now with this hobby, there is nothing more to wish! or...... maybe an other Daytona?? Here are some crappy iPhone pictures, which do this watch no justice. I don't know what crystal it has but I never believe it is the standard DW crystal it looks so good and clear. Thanks for looking
  4. The only thing that gave it away to me is the canon pin.
  5. Finally I can post mine. It just came back from service by Domi. Here are 2 QD pictures of my 1665 GW:
  6. Thank you all for the quick reply. I bought the insert anyhow LOL. It was a to good deal to pass on. Well the search will continue for a affordable 1680 insert.
  7. Thanks guy's. I will need to wait till it gets here to see if it fits.
  8. Is it possible to see the difference between those two?
  9. Can't seem to find the answer anywhere on the net. I know that the original pearl is different but I've seen enough examples of a 1680 wit a modern pearl. Reason for asking is that I can get a Tritium pearl bezel inlay from a 16800 for a very good deal but want to use it on my 1680 in building.
  10. Thanks Andy. Yes it is going better every attempt. But.... these FGD dials aren't that hard to do! Still, the 1680 will be on its way to you on Monday
  11. Here is my second attempt to lume a FGD dial. I had a second dial laying around and was planning to send it to a professional to get it lumed. Yesterday I got some new lume, vintage vory and old yellow, and I had to give it a try. I build a complete watch around it from parts laying in my parts box. Here is a QD wrist shot. It is so hard to photograph the real color. Here is a second attempt:
  12. +1 I had the same with my gen 24B once.
  13. Nice combination. Looks really good.
  14. Hi Freddy, Thanks a lot. No, they are not on a gen watch but on a recently sourced MBK/MBW 1680. I was just wondering since I bought replacement hands for two other projects and one set was flat and the other curved and I have a 1665 with curved hands an now this 1680 has flat hands, a bit confusing for me.
  15. I've seen a lot of vintage Rolex Submariner lately. Most of them have those curved hands but a few have straight (flat) hands. Are there gen Subs sold in the past with those straight (flat) hands? The reason for asking is that these flat hands are installed on my 1680 and I would like to know if I need to replace them.
  16. Yep, first mods will be installation of my 93150 bracelet and my 580 end links. Then it will go to Spain for a relume.
