  1. True, tschnically it's not correct. But after a complete AD's service the watch would look like this. And I like the combination of the modern in vintage housing. I have a 1680, a 1665 and a 1655 - but I am not happy with it. The 5513 is now my favorite! My direction in future will be every vintage Rolex to build with service dials - like next project: A 1680 with service dial (just came a few hours ago in), also my next Daytona V72 6265. But a service dial + hands for the Daytona are over 1000,-€. So the invested money I will never get back...just have to calculate the whole cost and decide if I will go for or not. About case thinning: The sides are thinned to get the springbars more out, because the MBW is too thick/fat - thats all. Case height should be OK.
  2. Yep! One of the last 5513 (L Series, 1989/1990)!
  3. For me also! Only missing is a gen movement...but that would get too expensive. For a few € more you can buy a complete gen 5513. What to do now? Hmmm, I think to keep it!
  4. It's on hold for a RWG member, I am waiting for payment...but I felt in love in meanwhile! Maybe I keep it, 'cause in flesh it looks way better than on pics! Never thought before that a no date sub can be so sexy...really!
  5. Specs: - L series MBW case, thinned and reshaped/polished, CGs shaped, lugholes drilled - gen service luminova dial, correct for L series case - gen luminova inlay - gen crown/tube - gen endlinks - gen 93150 bracelet - gen springbars - WSO bezel, reworked to fit on MBW retainer - hands with luminova relumed to mach gen dial and pearl - 1665 plexy, top shaped down on machine and polished (gen T19 is on the way) - caseback reshaped and polished - ETA 2789 with 21.600 bph, serviced, oiled, regulated, date module removed, to a two-position-setting modified - tight movement holder made by myself on a lathe ...and not to forget: A lot of hours of work! Not to finish the project - rarher to get it perfect!
  6. Not really! Thank's D!
  7. What do you think about this, guy's? Thank's for looking...
  8. Both are DW - one old and other new stock. On old case pusher are not screwed (you have to open the caseback and look at the end of the pushers), but maybe replaced with aftermarket ones. Both crowns are 703 - left new style coronet (gasket on tube is missing!), right is old style 703 coronet. Lugholes are on left drilled, both DW cases had always correct dimensions so someone did it himself. EDIT: It can also be that the case is polished sometimes, and the lugholes seem only to be bigger. There is needed a special tool for polishing in the lughole area, and not to get around the hole a crater. That's why often the holes look bigger on pictures as they are. BUT, a 40 year old watch would look like that only by wearing...so don't care
  9. Hi guys, how much are the ETA 2892 movements with the module? What would be a fair price? Thanks
  10. The older 703 crowns have the coronet of the 702. The reference is also 24-703 like the modern ones. Tube is 24-703-0. 1680, 5513 and 1665 used them. A friend gives his 1680 last year to a revision. I thought they will mount the 703 with the new coronet (tube was also replaced), but I was wrong. Because I thought they are not available anymore...
  11. I will try on next watch fair to trade it for a Zenith Daytona + a 16610 Sub.
  12. Yes, that's the point. I think hour, minute and big chrono hands are not original. Could not find a such combination.
  13. This is a old and very rare chronograph from '40 I think. Ref. 4062. I will let it maybe go. What do you think guys is a fair price to give it away? BTW, the watch runs like a champ, the movement is just serviced! Thanks for your help...
  14. Look at this POST, if you like it you can send me a silver overlay. I can let do the treatment. This is at moment the closest as possible to gen...
  15. I use greenpois0n on my iPhone 4 and on many other (3GS) from friends. Works great... Pozdrav Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. You won't believe it - it is smoked and after cleaned up with a Q-tip. So it gets a very nice and accurate old-look. The bridge is from DW, I have two of them here. But only one fits correct without giving tension on gears. I put the DW V23 copy movement apart in all parts, clean it up and use from 2 movements all the best parts and assemble it again. Everything is lubed and oiled and it runs great now. I don't know if the V72 bridge bridge fits a V23, but possibly yes. It looks same. The case is aged and round polished, also a gen 702 crown and tube is mounted. The bracelet is rep with some minor strech, but it looks good to me, even the clasp has seven holes like gen.
  17. Yes, yes and no (V23 copy with Rolex bridge).
  18. I think they look way off! Seriously, just let see the final result to judge...
  19. ...but every K005 deserve a own thread, because they are really hot! Here is mine (sorry for some dust, but here is no use of Photoshop or else):
  20. Someone's tomorrow there from the board? Let's make a small GTG...
